She told me one day that we have to accept the gay lifestyle. I have to debrief her and explain that we don't have to accept anything. (this is just as sick as it gets)
We have our own beliefs and nobody should try and change that. We don't persecute them but we don't have to accept it. Morals and beliefs should be taught at home, reading writing and arithmatic at school.
Just out of curiosity, what State do you live in and how old is she? My husband and I want to homeschool but, I, truthfully feel overwhelmed. But my daughter and almost every kids we know it seems is becoming sexually deviant and confused about morals. Or suicidal.
Home schooling is very difficult and you must be a disciplinarian. If you cannot set firm boundaries, don't try. However, we did it for a couple of years some time ago, and when the children were older we let them attend public school, which wasn't quite so bad at that time. If my children were young again, I don't know if I could let them go to public school, but I can't convince the parents of my grandchildren to home school. The age of accountability is 8, I would definitely keep them home till then.
Don't set yourself up for failure, if you are overwhelmed home school might push you over the edge.
We will, or I suppose most parents would, fight to the death to protect our children from a molester, a killer, a bully etc, pretty much keep them from any physical harm if at all possible. But, isn't it actually astounding, that we will turn our precious children over to the devil himself, or devils in human form, to teach and train them into debauchery, sodomy, pedophilia, teach them transgender is an option, into gays and lesbians, into worshiping sports and sport stars, we let all of this ungodly music influence them,( for that matter we've all gone through it and have been brain fried dried, ourselves ) we give them the tv remote control to fry their brains, we let them play violent, bloody, sexual video games, we train them to excell one above another in all aspects of life. Then as they get older we send them off to crapville colleges/university's to completely finish frying their brains, because, well we did it also.
We as parents, and our parents and our parents parents are going to answer to God Himself for these things. God entrusted our children to us to teach and train in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But what do we do? We teach the corporate rules and laws and regulations of the "systemic church".
Let's just be honest with ourselves and with our way of life and with our B.S. self righteous mentality. We, as LDS, as a whole, are a miserable failure. Our lights do not shine at all, ( as a whole that is, as an institution. There are a few scattered here and there that are the " humble, contrite, without guile, honest, meek, lowly followers of The Son). But we as a whole are a disgrace to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Why do we insist on sending our kids to hell? Why do we have this unquenchable lust after the glory of this world? Why do we need to excell in everything, or anything worldly. Why do we consume our lives continually striving to receive the approval of Babylon. We as a whole, as a Church as a corporate institution, have gone out of our way, to join hands with Babylon, the devil and all hell. It's like we can't do it fast enough. The PR department of the church, (along with most other departments) have joined hands with the devil himself. You cannot compromise the Gospel of The Glorious Son. Yet we have completely. Or just about completely. If we have not completely, we are sure on the fast moving train to hell with no brakes.
It is depressing to read the above comments about picking up our children from school and try and "detox" their innocent brains from the toxic drool that emits from our public schools and teachers.
Again, we will fight to the death to protect the physical well being of our children, yet let those wicked bastards teach our children their damnable filthy sodomy and that filthy transgender garbage. And then to cap it off, the bastards will charge you, as a parent, for denying your children the "right" to be gay or transgender or any other ungodly wicked adulterated twisted perversion.
I say pull your kids the hell out of their ungodly institutions. And yesterday!. Quit crying the baby blues about how hard it is. You think it's hard to homeschool? Just imagine yourself at the judgement bar of God Almighty, looking at your spiritually dead, spiritually brain fried sodomite children. And you having to answer for their sins. And you will have to. Because you neglected to protect that which most precious above all, their souls!!!!!
Awake!! Awake!! Oh Isreal...
It actually pains me to think of the sick perverted corruptions we are teaching our children by substitution. You my friends, are completely responsible for the spiritual welfare of your children. ( and when I say you, that finger is pointed at me directly also) I would not send my worst enemy to public school. I did send my kids for a year to public schools some years ago , and it was a big mistake.
I'll just relay what God told an LDS father that adamantly refused to let his concerned wife homeschool their precious innocent children. And it ought to be shouted from the rooftops, so let's shout it out here: IF YOUR CHILDREN NEVER LEARNED ANOTHER THING, THEY WOULD BE BETTER OFF AT HOME WITH THEIR MOTHER. And that my friends is coming from your God and my God.
I, am not against "education" , but I am against us frying our children spiritually. Brigham Young was adamantly against the "federally free" public school system. That is literally designed to take your children away from you, And it was from the beginning. Historically, in Utah, in the late 1800,s the Presbyterian church built/ opened 90 "free" schools there. With the explicit intent to turn our children against Mormonism. Or least take our precious little "nits" and turn them into corrupted "lice"
As they figured that they can't beat Mormonism out if us, but, they sure can corrupt the Mormonism within us. As also the Federal Government. And look and behold, here we are today, fully corrupted. But we brought it upon ourselves with our unsatiated desire for the things and lifestyle and glory of Babylon.
And I dont want to hear about how "president Nielson" is spreading the good word. The only word he is spreading is more corporate PR political correctness, and a polluted version of the gospel. Yes you read correctly " A polluted corrupted version of the Gospel", and that is the reason why our children, our brothers and sisters, our parents, our aunts, uncles, grandparents grandchildren, friends and enemies are turning into sodomites, transgenders, pedophiles, molesters, businessmen, doctors, Lawyers, etc.
Now some most definitely will howl their heads off at, how dare I say such things "against the Lords anointed". But I say, a truly anointed Prophet/Shepard that is in tune with God Almighty would not suffer the filthy sodomites/ transgenders/soul destroyers to hold hands with and corrupt our precious children.
But there is a bigger evil lurking. And that is the fact that we have suffered ourselves to be corrupted from within, and that is a direct cause or curse if you will of our rejection of the Truth, and our rejection of, and eliminating or corrupting the fullness of the Gospel. And sorry to say it starts at the top. The shepard's are responsible for protecting the precious flock. But now we are told by preaching and example to strike hands with the perverts, to help celebrate their " uniqueness" to by kind to them " as Jesus would do". Yet the good books clearly point out that we should be completely separate from Babylon and its demonic influences. And even I myself am not, just so you do not think I am " looking for a following" or trying to set myself up. I am a nobody at all, just a pile of worthless corrupted flesh, a sinner, that has much to repent of, a nobody nothing, less than the dust of the earth.
Let me post Apostle Paul again for what it is worth as it completely fits us very depressingly, eerily correct. And maybe perchance some few might open their eyes of understanding and turn around.
Roman's 1:

Romans 1 King James Version (KJV)
1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Read it over again as many times as necessary, without a prejudice mind, have your mind like a white piece of paper ready for the Master to indelibly print upon that paper what He is very clearly saying. And also as you read it, apply it to us, as if we are those people. Which actually we are, or at the very least we are guilty of the same as they were back then. But as truth is eternal, and as the rejection of truth, throughout eternity, has the same consequences or curses, you can see what is transpiring right amidst us here and now in Mormondom. And what may we ask is that? Let mormon society and our churches speak for themselves. And the voices I hear, is that sodomy, LGBTQ, transgender is running rampant. I say it is because that we, as Apostle Paul very clearly points out, have rejected the Truth and have twisted it and perverted it and have rejected the fullness thereof. And because of it, we as a religious people. that are supposed to have our light shine, have instead rejected what has been in conflict with the world. And so, because of it we are literally being cursed, we as in all of our families to greater or lesser degrees are being cursed with a "Reprobate spirit" or rather reprobate spirits, legions of them, and I am sorry but to coddle them like The president on down through the lowliest of priesthood does
And there you have it, the specific reason why homosexuality/ lesbians and transgenders and perverts and child molesters and all other misc corruptions are affecting us.
"To your tents oh Isreal"....

Ok, I've ranted enough for one time. But there is plenty more in the recesses of my twisted mind. I do not intend to offend but to hopefully touch some soul, but by no means for any glory at all to me. Look to God, not to corrupted man. And may God have mercy upon us in our very lost and fallen and sick corrupted state.

Once again worth repeating and will be an ongoing continual comment, : GET YOUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN THE HELL OUT OF THE PUBLIC PORNOGRAPHIC PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. An ounce of prevention is worth an eternity of spiritual cure.
If you want a place of refuge from this eminent coming storm, seek and ye shall find, but it will not be in Babylon by no means.
I really feel like the very powers of hell are gathering their thick dark clouds and chains tightly around us.
PM if you want to truly escape from Babylon.
Oh my gosh! I realize how corrupt the world has become, and how cynical. I do believe our leaders are doing the right thing, in a civilized way. The " Proclamation to the Family," was very timely, tell me these men aren 't inspired, they most certainly are, and this church is being led by a living Prophet.

One of the evil's of our day is WE PEOPLE. Why would we let prayer be taken out of the schools? Why don't we protest and protect the things that are being taught in school, and protect our children by being an active participant in the classroom and PTA? Becoming hysterical, however, never solved anything.

" the corporate word/agenda"
I don't know what that is, but I'm sure there's no such topic among the speaches from the prophet and the twelve. Repentence, "THE" scriptures, priesthood, Holy Ghost, Christ - that is all I hear and pay attention to, other scriptures mingled with philosophies of men are irrelevant. They actions have no affect on me.
Hail to the prophet!
" political correctness"
That's a tricky, evil little word used to wrap perversion! People falling for it are stupid. Since English is not my native language, it is a bit hard for me to explain, but let me give it a try: In my country - among most of my friends, acquaintances, collegaues and maybe some church members - if a so called transgender-drag queen tried to make underaged children understand the importance of that pervert behaviour, well, we would beat that person knowing that our universal healthcare will take care of it.
As OP said: excessive GAY AGENDA , oversexualization and adult content being present everywhere is unacceptable and must be fought against. I don't care if they call me non-pc, I still have my fist and common sense. Sweet talk and patience is over for me.
" living to bask in our pride with a hollow empty shell of religion "
Maybe among self-rightheous mormons and in self-righteous Utah with 50 temple in 1 mile radiius. But be rest assured, there are members all over the world who will defend their faith, freedom, familiy, friends from anything and anyone.

There is a storm approaching that this will just be a dust devil compared to a hurricane.

I've been feeling like "5 more years, at most" since 1992. We are being allowed to ripen in iniquity to an extent that I did not expect.

We are already to the point that I don't even think repentance on a large scale is even possible - just the cleansing by fire.
Do you mean this fire?

Ezra Taft Benson said:
"if the gentiles on this land reject the word of God and conspire to overthrow liberty and the Constitution, then their doom is fixed, and they ". . . shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant". (1 Nephi 14:6; 3 Nephi 21:11, 14, 21; D&C 84:114-115, 117)

“The great destructive force which was to be turned loose on the earth and which the prophets for centuries have been calling the "abomination of desolation" is vividly described by those who saw it in vision. Ours is the first generation to realize how literally these prophecies can be fulfilled now that God, through science, has unlocked the secret to thermonuclear reaction."
If that's the fire your talking about, I completely agree. the abomination of desolation on the Gentiles via "thermonuclear reaction" is exactly what we are headed for, and soon! The point at which "liberty and the Constitution" falter is the point where the Lord must intercede on behalf of the saints or "my people who are of the covenant" as the scripture says.

We are about to see the 17th chapter of Revelation fulfilled, this is where "the beast" (Russia) and ten other nations shall combine to burn "the whore" (the global cabal based in Europe and America). To get the details please read chapter 13 of The Bridegroom Cometh... www.thebridegroomcometh.net/book

I was really surprised when I first read Brother Benson's comment regarding the "abomination of desolation". The New English Bible, I think, put it better by using the term "the abominable thing that causes desolation". That his interpretation was that it referencecd the use of nuclear weapons is very similar to mine. I believe that the thousands of nuclear ICBMs controlled by Russia will one day, unless we repent as a nation for our many sins, be used by God to render his judgement upon our nation. We have largely forgotten about the threat of a nuclear attack. We don't think it can happen. But it likely will happen as part of God's judgement upon the nations, particularly the nations who have had the most opportunty to know how God wants us to behave. And those nations are mostly in the west; The United States, Canada, Britain and western Europe. It will happen in the space of a few hours. The death and wounded will be in the millions, and we will only have ourselves to blame. Unless we repent. Not as individuals, but as nations. Our leaders need to repent. Kneel down. Pray for forgiveness. And reject the evil things and do what is right in the eyes of God. Will they do it? Probably not. So judgement is coming. I don't believe in a rapture. We will all live through it. A very few believers will be protected when it comes, but not all. "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
I used to think this would be many years away but, knowing how fast our morality as diminished in only a couple of decades, now I fear that I may actually live to see this come to pass.

You may remember that Trump took actions to access and prepare against EMP attack a while back. Here's an example from the news:
It’s not something many Americans think about: an Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) attack on the nation’s electric grid. However, both peer competitors (Russia and China), and emerging threat countries, like North Korea and Iran, are perfecting this strategic weapon.

The White House is taking this potential threat seriously. On March 26, President Trump issued “Executive Order on Coordinating National Resilience to Electromagnetic Pulses” in an effort to assess the risks of such an attack to critical U.S. infrastructure. Preliminary studies indicate that a catastrophic EMP event could cripple the U.S. economy and its military. https://www.forbes.com/sites/arielcohen ... 94399be7e2
So besides the fact that we are already fulfilling the conditions of Ezra Taft Bendon's prophecy, Russia and China obviously know that the window of opportunity to have maximum effect will be closing soon. My personal opinion, based on my studies of the scriptures and prophecy is that we have only until the spring of 2020 and then the world will experience a turning point. As President Nelson said:
"This is a hinge point in the history of the church. Things are going to move forward at an accelerated pace, of which this is a part," he said, later adding, "The church is going to have an unprecedented future, unparalleled; we're just building up to what's ahead now."
This "unparalleled" and "unprecedented future" is what I believe he was talking about in April conference of 2018 when he said:
"Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will perform some of His mightiest works between now and when He comes again. We will see miraculous indications that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, preside over this Church in majesty and glory."
If you ask me, he's talking about Adam Ondi Ahman... "Things are going to move forward at an accelerated pace"!!

Despite the all the hype, I'm not too concerned about an EMP attack that would be as successful as people think it might be. Any attack that left the military intact would end up being a major problem, not only for the attacker but for the rest of the world as well. In addition, most of the ideas of what the effects of such an attack would be are purely theoretical or based on events that happened on a small scale during atomic tests etc. No one knows for sure what would happen in a real event. What we do know is that most military aircraft and ships and submarines are hardened against such attacks. I suspect that the USA would not hesitate to destroy any nation foolish enough to do such a thing along with any nations that supported them or even just stood by and watched it happen. I would be more worried about a massive nuclear attack by ICBMs from Russia that decimates the continent and kills millions of people and taking out infrastructure and governments, and removing the USA as a player in the remaining end-time senario. Even then, I imagine there are enough submarine based missles that would survive to cause major havoc among other nations for years afterwards unless they were hunted down. It would be a messy situation for sure.
But for an EMP attack to be successful, the enemy would have to be absolute sure what the result would be. There would be no second chance and no opportunity to say "sorry, didn't mean it". At this point there is no way to be sure since it's never been done on a large scale with any widespread damage resulting.
i would add this about the so-called "Carrington Event of 1859" which is used as an example of a natural EMP event. At the time it shorted out telegraph wires and other associated things. But this only happened because of the long lengths of copper wire used at the time. If they had iphones and ipads and computers when it happened, none of those would have been affected mostly due to how small integrated circuits are.
Any similar natural EMP event today would short out some large scale transformers and damage some long electrical wires, but most items would not be affected. EMP is highly over rated, in my opinion.
All that being said, God will most certainly find a suitable way to punish us if we do not repent and turn from our wicked and evil ways.
No doubt at all about that.

EMP doing major damage is a myth. The US and Britain have tried it. The US test burnt out a few street lights. And the British test was even more mundane. The Russians tested it on a mockup in the desert with very substandard parts and only a few electrical lines burned through and came down. And that was right underneath the test center.

My focus on EMP was only meant to illustrate that Trump is taking measures to minimize the damage but I don't by any means believe that an attack by Russia, China etc will be limited to EMP. I expect nukes with mushroom clouds and fallout as well. As we read in Joel 2:
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible bday of the Lord come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

In the 1960s movies suddenly started portraying divorce as a good thing. This accelerated once California enacted no-fault divorce in 1969 and other states started following suit. Hollywood was explicitly fighting the stigma against divorce and encouraging the destruction of families.

Around the same time, maybe even a little earlier, they started portraying sexual impurity as a good thing. I think you would be shocked if you watched a couple of TV shows targeted at teens to see how the good girls are portrayed these days and then watched a couple episodes of Married With Children from the early 90s to see how the bad slutty girls were portrayed back then. Those sluts are paragons of puritanical modesty when compared with the 'good' kids of today's entertainment.

I am not sure if you mean weary [tired] or wary [cautious about danger] because so many people use the first to mean the second, but the way you worded it makes so much sense. It takes a lot of energy to raise children these days, even moreso than 20-30 years ago. Just thinking about having to raise children in this violent upside-down world makes me mentally and spiritually weary.

Amen to that. This is small beans in comparison to what's coming.

Homeschooling is best if you can afford a great variety of resources.
For science I think this is an awesome resource (I bought many things from them, and wished I could buy a ton more): https://www.homesciencetools.com/

Abeka books and BJU books are really good quality. They are Christian-based, which is good, but one of the BJU history books was slanted against Mormons in their textbook about states. I wrote them a protest, but it fell on deaf ears. In any case, you can work around things like that. I used the books for grade school level, and, for history, I read to them and we discussed what we were reading. In this way, you can go through all the levels with all your children at once.

I also got a ton of supplies over the years from Rainbow Resource, as well as some from ChristianBook.com.

Saxon Math is what I used, because the Robinson curriculum said it was largely self-learning, but I have learned that it is not. There are holes in some of their instructions, so the children do need you there to explain things. I'd recommend researching different math books to see what you like, as all of them are definitely not created equal. (By the way, when I ordered it, Robinson Curriculum offered lower prices for those who could not afford the asking price. I don't know if they still do it. At the time I did it, it consisted of several computer disks, where you printed out books, though the children could read them online, but it was not recommended because of the hours of exposure to a computer screen.)

Also, beware of any science books that are reprints of old ones. We got some, and they said that bats hang by the claws on their wings. Needless to say, we found another home for those books. Dorling Kindersley books are excellent for learning a lot of things.

You don't have to buy the books new. Oftentimes, they can be found used.

Edited to fix typo.

Another word on math: Children in the first few grades don't need workbooks, really. In fact, they usually find them tedious and borderline painful. We played store at first. There was a store in town that sold tiny erasers in shapes like ice cream cones, gingerbread men, etc. I got a bunch of those, and some pennies, nickles, dimes, and quarters. They'd sell to me as a customer. When their supply got low or gone, they'd buy them back from me as supplier. They had fun and not only learned something about adding and subtracting, they learned to tell coins apart.

Unless your state requires testing, I wouldn't do it. I also recommend strongly against imitating the public school system. That will lead to fast burnout for you and your children. You want them to love learning, not hate nor dread it. You could try Relaxed Home Schooling or even Unschooling.

Some links to help you understand what they are (I can't vouch for them, as I just now got them from a Google search. This is just to give you an idea of the vast resources online, and I definitely suggest online searches to learn as much as you can, as some people are downright weird, but others give solid advice):

Relaxed homeschooling:

https://therelaxedhomeschool.com/

https://upabovetherowantree.com/relaxed ... urriculum/

https://www.thissimplebalance.com/relax ... schooling/

Unschooling:

https://www.naturalchild.org/articles/g ... evens.html

https://www.time4learning.com/homeschoo ... oling.html

https://www.kqed.org/mindshift/37091/ho ... s-turn-out

Another thing that is helpful is if you can find a local homeschooling group. Or start one, if you know other homeschooling families. You can go on field trips together (we went to a cotton gin, for example). We met at the park once a week, where we talked to each other for ideas, for emotional support, and to plan any group activities/field trips we might want to do while the children played on the playground.

Another huge resource that we did not have is people who have a specialty and are willing to teach it to your child/ren. This could be anything. Engineering, math, science, gardening, woodworking, shooting a bow and arrow, working with animals (vet, zoo, farm), and so on.

Oh, and one last thing:

The library can be a great resource. And another one is a good set of encyclopedias. We had two sets. One day, on her own, my 9 year old looked up sea turtles (essentially researching them) and wrote the equivalent of a child's research paper on them. (We didn't have internet at the time, so all she had were the books.)

You know... just going off the scripture you quoted there... the pillars of smoke could already be fulfilled without a nuclear apocalypse. After all... there was Hiroshima and Nagasaki... plus all the nuclear tests done from the 1950's to modern day.

Immanuel Velikovsky gives a unique perspective on pillars of smoke. I'm reading "Worlds in Collision" right now. I find it fascinating.

Thank you for your kind encouragement and the resources! My husband and I were both homeschooled. He is an engineer and very math minded he used Abeca but didn't did any of the English. He takes an hour almost every night and teaches our 8 and 4 year old math, science, and world history. He's so great at it. I am decent at teaching the gospel and reading but I'm more chaotic and hate the structure of "sit down and do your work" and my daughter does too. I hated it growing up. I used Saxon and not having someone who could help me understand concepts and advance made me feel like a total moron. My parents were really hands off with homeschooling (mom worked from home answering calls for the business) so it typically degenerated into me and my siblings pretending to did our work and then running off to play outside. Not the worst way to experience my childhood, honestly. We played so much outside I still think it was good for my spirit and my mind. It just made "catching up" impossible when they put me into 10th grade.

You're welcome. Having been homeschooled yourselves, definitely gives you a step up, imo. I was raised in the public school system. It was difficult not to do school the way I was taught, for the first week or two, anyway.

I would have loved for my husband to teach math to our kids. I love math, but it became obvious that liking it and being able to explain it to a kid were not the same thing.

I didn't do the best job, and I did let my kids go to public school when they wanted to (once, I got tired of fighting with getting them to learn something and put them in myself).

Please seriously consider homeschooling. We do. It’s the obvious choice in today’s world, provided you can live on a single income.

We take our children to get books from the public library. Our kids picked out a children’s book from the San Jose, CA public library that was about a boy who likes to dress as a girl. I read a couple pages to the kids, realized what it was, and then announced to the kids I wouldn’t be finishing the book, because it was garbage. Told my wife about it so she would know not to read it to the kids.

The public schools HAVE TO teach that homosexuality is fine, because the government endorses it for marriage. They also read all kinds of activist books to the kids. My son came home from a school in CA hating anyone who cuts down a tree. I had to explain that if you own the tree, can’t you cut it down? Etc.

The brainwashing today is SCARY I tell you.

If you live in Utah, there are lots of options for those who want to homeschool several days a week, but also meet up with other kids once or twice a week — and the state of Utah pays for the programs (well, at least the ones I’m thinking of).

Yes, I surely understand what you are saying but we must keep in mind that when the real pillars of smoke appear, they shall be accompanied by the sun being darkened, the moon being turned to blood. Then we can expect "the great and the terrible bday of the Lord" to unfold.

I was never homeschooled, but my dad spent a lot of time at the dinner table debunking the garbage that was poured into our brains. Eventually I got pretty good at detecting b.s. in school. It became apparent to me that the teachers were following a curriculum and adding their own opinion occasionally.

But the homosexual agenda has accelerated so quickly in the last 10 years that I'm extremely hesitant to play roulette with my kids' souls. They are young enough that I don't have to decide yet.
