Members of the church shoving dollar bills into drag queens bra last night

After a long day with the kids, and a long talk about how wicked our society is with my husband, I got ready for bed and opened up my Instagram. I clicked the story bubble of a girl in my stake who I follow. She posted a video of a drag queen dancing for a crowd of other LDS woman. Her caption "perfectly posh killed it with the talent".
I was horrified. Knowing that this girl tends to go to a lot of these "social media influencer parties" I looked up a few other women who are local "influencers". Every.single.one was there. Dozens of women. I'm disgusted right now. They were each recording the whole thing, shoving dollar bills down his bra.
One woman said "bridging the gap between the church and hate with drag"
What the hell is happening?? These are women who bare testimony of Christ but are participating in really disgusting behavior.

Readers may wonder why members are becoming inactive or leaving altogether, but it's not so hard to understand when these things happen and there is only silence from the Authorities of the Church. Is it enough to just make positive statements on morality without an equal condemnation of specific acts of immorality? I don't think so, in my opinion anyway.

Would not this have been just as bad if it was a lady dancing not someone in drag? What if it was a male dancing as a male and not in drag?
I agree this is not good but where exactly are you placing the sin?

This is true! It did look like there were some women on the sideline who didn't know what they had gotten themselves into and didn't appreciate the entertainment.

I think it would definitely be just as bad if it was a woman dancing or a group of men with the drag queen.
I think I see part of the problem is this is very much a play on the world's form of entertainment. Also, sending the message to their combined millions of followers that we are of the world. Was the Spirit there? The message is normalizing sin and also basically saying we're no different than the world.

Exactly so - and sadly, we've become quite good at it.

Why does it matter where she was placing the sin? Sin is sin. Who doesn't know that going to a strip club is wrong? There was a lot of bad going on there—including and especially the LGBTQ aspects of the story. Why step in and make sure we arent singling out the gay aspects of the story? Why are we so quick to step in and make sure no one says a gay lifestyle is more evil than a straight one?
I see a big difference and that is that we know breaking the law of chastity is wrong. If we break that then we know we either need to repent or walk out of the kingdom. However, the LGBTQ agenda is so brazen right now, that they are putting everyone on guard from even hinting their brand of immorality a might be a sin. And that's exactly what just took place on this thread.

Sad. Not to be too preachy-preachy, but the #1 thing the Church membership is struggling with right now IMO is the allure of the world, the high and spacious building stuff. Wanting to be cool, fearing scorn and ridicule, and wanting to fit in. I know one of these social media influencers. She and her husband show up to church less, take vacations on weekends and just project this vibe of wanting to be cool; and not just that, they almost seem to relish the "outsider" role as members. They like being contrary and questioning just for the sake of it.
It's really quite unfortunate that so many members nowadays have to straddle the fence. Pick which side you're on and go all in. And in my very unhealthy, un Christlike take, I am very often tempted to say either be all in or GTF out.

Ik kan geen touw binden aan wat je zegt!!!
Please translate:
What is a "social influencer party"? What is a local "influencer?"
I also don't understand this statement: "perfectly posh killed it with the talent"?
I know there is something about a drag queen here and apparently he is entertaining a crowd of LDS women and they are putting money in his bra (?) for the privilege of watching him? I wish you could show us this video so I, at least, could get what you are describing. Are LDS women reaching down his dress to put money down there, or is this guy stripping down to his underwear and women (LDS!) are giving him money for that?
Anyway-- could you or someone help me understand this, it sounds incredible. And that somebody would post it for the whole world to see.

"Perfectly posh" would be there stage name.
No surprise here. When you march in pride parades that have debauchery baked into them why not continue it outside the norm.
All were participating, you can just get up and walk out. But they didn't bc of pressure. That is how things get bad. No backbones

A social media influencer is someone who has a large number of follows on Instagram or another platform and then is paid by companies to subtly put their stamp of approval on a product (a designer bag, vitamins, anything) and then offer their followers a discount code to said product to make more sales.
These parties are for companies to promote themselves through these influencers. They're typically given product for free and then agree to promote it to their followers. The parties are exclusive and kind of for the elite of social media. The whole thing sounds stupid, right?
The drag queens weren't stripping but he made his way around the room so the women could put money in his bra and belt. Maybe I'll figure out how to post screenshots.

Perfectly Posh is actually the company name. It was a makeup party. Look up sistermollymormon on Instagram and that's the drag queen they had at their party.

We have people like that in our stake. But when they do go they always post a picture perfect family photo outside the church building. I find that trend so bizarre.

So an LDS woman threw a Perfectly Posh make up party and invited other LDS women, who apparently did not know this drag queen was going to perform. Nevertheless, a lot got into the swing of it and tipped the drag queen right in his burlesque costume bra and belt, while others stood uncomfortably in the background and endured it until it was over.
Am I getting this right?
Can I ever see why this upsets you.
I agree with Concierge. Sexual acting out has become mainstream. And anyone who did not leave that party was a moral coward. Heck yeah, you would be socially ostracized for it, but better to have no friends in the ward than friends like that.

Oh but it's worse that socially ostracized. Your job is on the line. If you don't agree with it and leave, someone is going to tell someone who will eventually tell a boss and you could potentially be blackballed or fired.

That is a growing danger nowadays. ESPECIALLY if you work for a big national company who cares about image, etc.

It's also a danger if you work for a small local company owned by "woke" Mormons who believe that further light and knowledge about God's approval of gay marriage is imminent.

Yes, of course right. This has actually happened to me. I was fired for not joining in on something really sexually immoral in the surgeons office I worked in. And it was a group of all LDS female employees, and one of them was in the RS stake presidency in my stake. She told me afterwards that "since you wouldn't put my hands in the cookie jar with the rest of us, you had to get fired." I did get another job, but there was a constant problem with Play Girl magazines brought into the break room and playing cards of naked men, along with ouija boards and tarot cards, etc, and if you wouldn't look at it with whoever was in there, you were not liked very much and kind of shunned. Some of the active participants in this were a lady who was our ward organist, I kid you not, and a mother and daughter, with the mother being the YW President in her ward, I kid you not.

What should they do? If some of you know members are doing something you think immoral, then tell church leaders instead of complaining about how awful they are, do something. Otherwise stop worrying about what others are doing and worry about yourself.
