Summer is the season for tourists, and that includes a cosmic traveler — one that's three times the length of a football field — that's expected to visit Earth's neighborhood later this week.
We're using the term "neighborhood" loosely here; the heavenly tourist (yes, it's an asteroid), known as 2008 KV2, is expected to zip by at a distance of about 4.2 million miles (6.7 million kilometers) from Earth on Thursday (June 27). But even though this visitor will be far away, the event's still notable; it's not every day that such a big space rock hurtles by our planet.
To put 2008 KV2's distance from Earth into perspective, the moon is about 238,900 miles (384,400 km) away from us, and the asteroid will be more than 17 times that distance.

Scientists discovered the asteroid in 2008 and promptly set about calculating how often it came within Earth's vicinity; the researchers produced estimates of its travels between 1900 and 2199. It turns out, 2008 KV2 is a fairly frequent visitor. Like Earth, it orbits the sun, but it doesn't always come that close to us. Even so, after Thursday's trip, 2008 KV2 is expected to pass by Earth again in 2021 and twice in 2022, according to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California.
Why is NASA paying so much attention to this asteroid, which could measure up to 1,082 feet (330 meters) across? The agency monitors all known near-Earth objects (NEOs) that venture into the zone between 91 million and 121 million miles (146 million and 195 million km) from the sun, meaning that an object is an NEO if "it can pass within about 30 million miles (50 million kilometers) of Earth's orbit," NASA says on its website.
2008 KV2 is passing with 0.05 astronomical units (AU) of Earth (according to JPL, it's coming within 0.045 AU of our planet). Because of that, and because of the object's size, the space rock is considered a "potentially hazardous asteroid," according to the Center for Near Earth Object Studies at JPL. (One AU is equal to the average distance between the Earth and the sun.)
However, this space tourist isn't lingering during its travels. The asteroid will zoom by Earth at more than 25,400 mph (40,800 km/h). It will be going so fast that it won't have time to celebrate the United Nation's Asteroid Day with us on June 30.
Oh well, maybe 2008 KV2 will stick around next time — which we're cool with, so long as it doesn't bump into Earth.

In advance I'm sorry about my wording or grammar mistakes. English is not my native language because I'm from a European country called Spain from which Spanish came originally.
Most of our fellow LDS brothers and sisters don't have a clue about the soon coming 7 year tribulation before the second coming. It's really dispairing. Some members expect the New Jerusalem to be built before the Lord comes, but if we see a city being built for several years it will be far two easy to pinpoint the time. Instead the new Jerusalem is a city coming down from the clouds. Even if there's some construction being done angels can come in order to build swiftly so that it takes most people unawares and HE comes as a thief in the night. Some members misread the scriptures. Those affirm that we can't know when HE comes because scriptures say so. But overlook when it says that the ones that WATCH will know even if only the year. And in this forum we are watchers. When we listen to general conferences they give us clues but we have to read between the lines. Especially this last conference. No prophet has ever said that the time is running out before as president Nelson has. He's been saying for the last few general conferences that in the coming years it will be impossible to survive spiritually without the Holy Ghost but now, a few weeks ago, the prophet said to the saints in Samoa in the coming MONTHS and years. So we must be VERY close. Last year president Nelson talk to the young men (12-18 years old) in a devotional and said that among them are the last lds missionaries. Why? Because the missionaries are gonna be taken home before the huge catastrophes start to unfold. There were rumors about shortening proselytizing missions to 1 year on next conference. It never happened but it might happen during the October 2019 conference. I'm sure that the shortening of church meetings is a preparation for the time when the saints are persecuted by the NEW WORLD ORDER - BABYLONIAN - ANTICHRIST SYSTEM and hence won't be able to worship in their meeting centers. The prophet can only hint even if he knows how close we are. Most members are drinking milk even if they think they are eating meat. We don't know the day or hour but if we WATCH we'll know the season of HIS coming. This is the season definitely. Are we going to be snatched off by the angels right before the 7 year tribulation, in middle of it or the very end? That's what I don't know.
Members also expect LDS missionaries going to every single country in the world because a scripture says that the gospel will go all over the world. There are many ways that the gospel can go to every nation without relying on lds missionaries alone. One is thru local members receiving it abroad and establishing it in their home country at their arrival. This is happening in China already. Another is thru foreigners living in a given country. This is happening in many Arab & non Arab Muslim countries mostly thru American soldiers established in bases. Another way is thru "special" people like the 3 Nephites, John the beloved... True or false there is a rumor that one of the 3 Nephites entered North Korea to help people there. Angels & the very Jesus Christ can preach the gospel as well. In fact there are many testimonies of Muslims looking for Muhammad and receiving Jesus Christ himself. Joseph Smith was not a member of the church when he saw the Son & the Father. Why should we doubt of people testifying of seeing the Lord. If that is the only way that is the only way.
Apart from what I said above these are the things that make me think we are less than a decade away from the Millennium:
The Jews are now saying that a king has been chosen this week to rule over them;
So called LGTB-FEMINAZI-ABORTIONIST rights are enshrined to the point that churches that don't perform these marriages might loose their rights to worship;
LGTB life style is now promoted in certain schools among children and teenagers. They are encouraged (or commanded) to masturbate each other kid, to cross-dress, play with the other sex's toys... They are doing it against the parents' will.
Russian troops are already on the northern Israeli border;
I believe that Trump's Deal of the Century is clearly the 7 year tribulation or the forerunner;
The Jews have all of the temple instruments ready & they might even have an entire temple built & split up in different hidden blocks;
The Temple of Jerusalem is planned for 2019. We'll see;
Earthquakes are downplayed in at least 1 degree so that nobody realizes the soon arrival of the bridegroom. Same with tornadoes, hurricanes, floods... These meteorological events are attributed to pollution instead of to the Second Coming.
