I read a book about someone who grew up in it. According to what I got out of the book: It’s Satanic in the sense that they use extreme amounts of coercion and control over their people in the inner circles. Once you get in, it’s really, really hard to get out. It is not Satanic in the sense of explicitly worshipping Satan. No, in fact I wouldn’t even call it a real religion because while some of them might worship a God, that’s definitely not what the “church” is about. It’s basically a hellish MLM. They just call themselves a church to get a tax shelter. They sell their little machines for thousands and thousands of dollars. The guys at the top are the worst offenders of priestcraft in this day. They are filthy rich off the backs of their members.

There are members who aren’t as involved as the author of the book was, and so some of them don’t have it so bad. But the author of the book was in the inner circles and saw how awful it was.

I think a lot about costs has similarly been said about the Church.

From the interview: he sees everyone is tied together; he desires to help others; he likes honesty; if LDS had 1/5 the good desires he had, history would change; he desires to rehabilitate criminals; etc.

On the other hand, his zealousy is strong, perhaps unbalancing.

Scientology is about achieving peak states, improving, etc.

If one's Scientology belief is more about the personality changes, Zivorad Slavinski and others talk about better ways to accomplish them. I'm not sure why Scientology members haven't discovered/ used them.
