The New American magazine

Post by lundbaek »

THE NEW AMERICAN is a magazine dedicated to promotion of liberty/freedoms as originally vouchsafed in the United States Constitution, and to exposing efforts by various individuals and organizations, both inside and outside of government, to subvert the national sovereignty of the United States and submerge the U.S. into first a regional government (the North American Union) and then a single world government (the New World Order).

And for the benefit of Latter-day Saints, I submit that it does a good job showing that "Secret combinations lusting for power, gain and glory are flourishing" and that "A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations and countries is increasing its evil influence and control over America and the entire world.", as a latter-day Prophet, President Ezra Taft Benson, warned us in the October 1988 Church General Conference.

The magazine is published twice a month by American Opinion Publishing Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the John Birch Society (JBS). The JBS is a patriotic organization dedicated to preserving God-given, individual inalienable rights and national independence, and restoring the original intent of he U.S. Constitution. The JBS works toward education and activating Americans to abide by the original intent of the American Founding Fathers and awaken Americans concerning the designs of those working to destroy our constitutional republic. I consider the $49/year price of a subscription more than a bargain, and a great source on information Re. the current mess the United States in in and why.

Subscriptions easily gotten by calling 1-800-727-8783 or going to TheNewAmerican.com

"...hard-left Democrats and Deep State globalists want to keep the border open to permit the entry of future voters who could permanently alter the country politically,..."

"Those organizing, aiding, and abetting the illegal immigration are, as Bill Hahn of the John Birch Society said in a recent video, Deep State globalists who hope mass immigration into the United States will overwhelm its states and localities. Globalist elites know that migration "on such a scale...not only changes society, but it also changes government."

"...the elites are creating a new people who will help them integrate the United States into a New World Order, which the elites will manage and manipulate to their own benefit in this country by appealing to that new people's collectivist instincts with expanded social welfare "programs" and police state laws the new people traditionally support."

I do not consider the immigration coming into this country the main problem at all. Although I am against it. The biggest problem by far is wickedness within. And, that is on both sides of the aisle. The "inner vessel" is filthy, I would say the cup is full to the overflowing, or just about there. If we cannot cleanse the inner vessel, with or without illegal immigration, we are doomed to the destruction of our society. Who is going to pay for the millions of innocent, butchered "legally" since 1973, for example just for starters, and actually that in and of itself will destroy any country.

The reason I have initiated this subject is to increase awareness of the New World Order / Globalist conspiracy. I consider this important because according to my understanding of Moroni's warning in Chapter 8 of The Book of Ether, especially verses 20-26, that the Lord wants us to be aware of the murderous and secret combinations seeking to overthrow our freedom which "shall" be among us, and do all we can to prevent them from getting above us. Well, we haven't done very well so far, and as I sees 'em, those of us in the freedom battle are so far fighting a loosing battle. So why do I involve myself in a lost cause ? Because sometimes lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for.

Paraphrasing an article in the January 9, 2017 The New American about "fake news", Walter Duranty intentionally covered up Stalin's genocide of 7-10 million Ukrainians during the 1930s, while Herbert Matthews covered up communist atrocities in Spain during the same period - and then went on to do the same for Fidel Castro....Mao Tse-tung was endlessly romanticized while his democide of tens of million was ignored, minimized, or even outright denied.

In the same article: "James Traub of the Council on Foreign Relations wrote an amazingly arrogant piece for "Foreign Policy" entitled "It's time for the Elites to Rise Up Against the Ignorant Masses."

In the 20 May 2019 edition of THE NEW AMERICAN magazine I read the following lines which I have excerpted from the article "Communist Party is 100 Years Old this Year":

"The Soviet Union had dispatched Ludwig Martens to the United States as its first "ambassador" to help the American communists carry out their plans....Martens admitted under oath to a committee of the New York State Legislature that he received a minimum of $30,000 a month from Europe....Martens bluntly told the committee that he was in America to help American communists establish a communist system in the United States."

The following is excerpts from the article "Creating and Exploiting the Refugee Crisis" beginning on Page 10 of the 19 October 2015 issue of THE NEW AMERICAN magazine.

"The politicians and establishment figures in the United States, the United Nations, and the European Union demanding that the West accept millions of Middle Eastern refugees are the same globalists who created the tragic situation in the first place. The strife was brought about, primarily, by destroying the countries their victims are fleeing from using various means and pretexts....The Obama administration and its allies have caused strife in Middle Eastern countries -- Libya, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, etc. -- and now exploit the problems to advance their goals....Those agendas include empowering the UN and its tentacles -- under the guise of keeping peace, bringing war criminals and terrorists to justice, dealing with refugees, preventing foreign fighters from traveling, and more....From overcrowded boats leaving from Libya stuffed with refugees to human trains of misery arriving on foot from Syria and Iraq through Turkey and other nations, the tide of displaced people is growing larger by the minute....In fact, it is hardly a secret, with several top U.S. officials even admitting publicly that Obama's "anti-ISIS" coalition had actually created, armed, and funded ISIS. Al-Qaeda, too, received a great deal of support from the Obama administration."

In the 7 September of THE NEW AMERICAN magazine, Pg. 49 one reads:

"Many of the world's richest people -- people whom most socialists would certainly consider vulture capitalists and wealth-gorging criminals who smother the world's poor -- are some of the greatest supporters of not only American national socialism, but global socialism. The many left-wing groups in this country -- Change.org, Planned Parenthood, Black Lives Matter, MoveOn.org, ACLU,, et. -- would barely exist except for the billions of dollars they have received from foundations with names like Rockefeller, Ford, Carnegie, and Gates, and individual billionaires with names like Rockefeller, Soros, Steyer, Bloomberg, and Sandler."

I see a very different picture than you... you see the modern day Gadiantons winning... I see the BoM warning the Gentiles that if they do not repent, they will follow the Nephites. The Messiah has declared that we, American's will not be taken into bondage if we do not repent, but shall be wipe off the promised land, and He will bring another people to plant in our stead. This land and nation shall be given unto Yisrael. Not the nation, but the tribes! First to a few repentant Ephraimites and the Native peoples, who are Lamanites. Then when Zion has been established, the Ten Tribes will come forth, and they will go forth like a lion among lambs and destroyed for the most part the majority of the Gentiles from off this land. The NWO and those elites you are fearing will not be found here after that time.

"Despite the good intentions of many socialists who really want to benefit humankind, there are others who recognize that they can amass political and economic power by promising to use the power of government to give the people what they want -- and then delivering tyranny instead. Such was the case with Hitler, the leader of Germany's National Socialists (Nazis), who came to power democratically." (TheNewAmerican of 2 September 2019, Pg. 5)

From the August 19, 2019 Issue, Pg.. 22

"According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, $1 of goods in 1776 cost roughly $1.14 in 1913 (the year the Federal Reserve Act was passed), making for an inflation rate of 13.79 percent over 137 years. But a dollar's worth of goods in 1913 would be worth $25.87 today -- 106 years later. Proces have gone up almost 2,500 percent since the Fed was established and the gold standard was undone....Flooding the market with money, then, will bring down that money's worth -- diluting the currency's purchasing power....In short, inflation is making us poorer."

Pg. 24

"From the horse's mouth: British socialist John Maynard Keynes, an advocate for the type of economic policies that produce inflation, admitted that inflation allows governments to "secretly" confiscate citizens' wealth."

https://www.thenewamerican.com/reviews/ ... -socialism

"After many years of Democratic control of both houses of Congress, Republicans captured the Senate during the presidency of the Republican Ronald Reagan and held on to control of it for six years. They did absolutely nothing to stop the onslaught of socialism. In fact, they raised the Social Security and Medicare tax rates to bolster those socialist programs. If only we had control of the House, said the Republicans. During the last six years of the presidency of the Democrat Bill Clinton, Republicans had a majority in both houses of Congress. They did absolutely nothing to stop the onslaught of socialism. In fact, they increased the refundable Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) every year to redistribute even more of the incomes of American taxpayers. If only we had a Republican president, said the Republicans. When the Republicans finally got their Republican president in George W. Bush they had a perfect opportunity to abolish the federal government’s socialist programs and restore the United States to a free and capitalist society. The Republicans controlled both houses of Congress for more than four years during the Bush presidency. They had not had absolute control of the government since the first two years of Republican Dwight Eisenhower’s presidency. Again, they did absolutely nothing to stop the onslaught of socialism. In fact, they expanded Medicare, created the TSA, and tremendously increased the budget of the Department of Education. The Republicans had another chance to roll back socialism when they controlled both houses of Congress during the first two years of Trump’s presidency. But again, they did absolutely nothing to stop the onslaught of socialism. In fact, they could not even come together to repeal Obamacare, even though they had railed against it since the day the Democrats passed it in 2010.

"The conclusion is inescapable: Republicans are powerless against socialism because — as shown by their words and deeds — they are socialists themselves."

24 Constitutional Questions Every American Should be Able to Answer
Written by John F. McManus

24 Constitutional Questions Every American Should be Able to Answer
September 17 is designated Constitution Day in recognition of the anniversary of the signing of the Constitution in 1787. How many of these quiz questions can you answer?

1. Q: Has the Constitution always guided the country?

A: No. Originally the nation functioned under the Continental Congress and the Articles of Confederation. But after 11 years under the Articles, the U.S. Constitution was written, agreed to, and ratified by nine states (all eventually ratified but only nine were needed to have it take effect). On September 13, 1788, the Continental Congress proclaimed that the Constitution had been properly ratified and it ordered the new government to convene on March 4, 1789.

2. Q: Does the Constitution allow the Supreme Court to make law?

A: No. The beginning of Article I states, “All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States.” Any Supreme Court decision is the law of the case and it binds only the plaintiff and the defendant. The meaning of the word “all” has not been changed.

3. Q: Does the Constitution allow the president to make law?

A: No. Executive Orders issued by the president that bind the entire nation are illicit because, as noted above, “All legislative powers” reside in Congress. An Executive Order that binds only the employees of the federal government is proper because the president should be considered to hold power much like the CEO of a corporation who can issue rules to his employees. But the entire nation is not in the employ of the president. The president does have a role in lawmaking with his possession of a veto. He can veto a measure produced by Congress (which can still be overturned), sign a law produced by Congress, or simply allow a measure to become law by doing nothing within 10 days, "Sundays excepted.”

4. Q: Does the Constitution give the federal government any power in the field of education?

A: No, none.

5. Q: Where in the Constitution is there authorization for foreign aid?

A: Nowhere is there such authorization.

6. Q: What are the three branches of government named in the Constitution?

A: Legislative, Executive, and Judicial.

7. Q: Does the Constitution have a minimum age requirement for a senator?

A: Yes. One must be 30 years old.

8. Q: What are the constitutional requirements for a person to be president?

A: A president must be a natural born citizen (not an immigrant who became a citizen), must be at least 35 years of age, and must have lived in the United States at least 14 years.

9. Q: Did the Constitution give the federal government power to create a bank?

A: No. It was given power to “coin money,” meaning the power to establish a mint where precious metal could be shaped into coinage of a fixed size, weight, and purity.

10. Q: May treaty law supersede the Constitution?

A: No.

11. Q: Does the Constitution allow a president alone to take the nation to war?

A: Absolutely not. The Constitution states very clearly that only Congress has power to take the nation into war

12. Q: Are there any specific crimes mentioned in the Constitution?

A: Yes: treason, bribery, counterfeiting, and piracy.

13. Q: Are the Bill of Rights considered part of the original Constitution?

A: Many do hold that view because if the promise to add the Bill of Rights had not been made, some of the states would not have ratified the Constitution and it might not have become the “Supreme Law of the Land.”

14. Q: According to the Constitution, how can a president and other national officials be removed from office?

A: They can be impeached by a majority in the House and tried by the Senate. Impeachment is not removal; it should be considered only as an indictment to be followed by a trial. Two-thirds of the senators “present” must approve removal at a subsequent trial or the person who has been impeached by the House shall not be removed.

15. Q: What authority does the Constitution give the vice president?

A: The vice president stands ready to take office if a president dies or becomes incapacitated. He is also president of the Senate and has the power to break a tie if one comes before it.

16. Q: How many amendments to the Constitution are there?

A: There are 27. The first 10 can be considered part of the original Constitution. And Amendment 18 was repealed by Amendment 21, which means that in a span of more than two centuries, there have been only 15 amendments. Amending the Constitution is a difficult process, made so by the Founders to keep anything silly or dangerous from being added in the heat of passion.

17. Q: Does the Constitution say anything about illegal immigration?

A: Not directly. But Article IV, Section 4 assigns to the federal government the duty to “protect each of them [the states] against invasion.” Note that it does not stipulate that an invasion be done militarily.

18. Q: Does the Constitution tell us how new states are added to the union?

A: Yes, Congress has the power to do so with a majority vote in each of its houses. It used its power, most recently, to welcome Alaska and Hawaii as the 49th and 50th states.

19. Q: How is an amendment to the Constitution added?

A: Congress can propose an amendment when two-thirds of both Houses vote to do so. It must then be ratified by either the legislature or convention in three-quarters of the states. Amendments can also be proposed by a constitutional convention called by two-thirds of the states. Any amendment arising from a constitutional convention must also be ratified by either the legislatures or conventions in three-quarters of the states.

20. Q: Is the term of a president limited by the Constitution?

A: Yes. In 1951, the Constitution was amended (Amendment 22) to limit anyone to two terms as president. The only president who served longer was Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who served into a fourth term, but died in April 1945 shortly after the beginning his 13th year in office.

21. Q: Which part of Congress is designated by the Constitution as having the “power of the purse?”

A: Article I, Section 7 states: “All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives.” If a majority in the House (218 is a majority of its 435 members) refuses to originate a bill to raise revenue for any purpose, no funds can be raised, until it passes.

22. Q: How does the Constitution explain expelling an elected member of the House or Senate?

A: Two-thirds of either the House or the Senate can expel one of its members for cause even though he or she has been elected by voters.

23. Q: What does the Constitution say about financing a military arm?

A: Article I, Section 8 says that the Congress can raise an army but “no appropriation of money” to fund it shall be for longer than two years. The same Article says Congress can provide for a navy without that same restriction regarding funding. Why? The men who wrote the Constitution feared the possibility that a standing army housed within the territory of the nation might arise and seek to take power. But they did not fear that a navy would try to do that because a navy and its weaponry did not reside within the nation, but only at sea or coastal seaports.

24. Q: How many times is the word democracy mentioned in the Constitution?

A: None. America is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy. A Democracy ruled by the majority can be persuaded to take away freedoms and property. Under a Constitutional Republic, such power does not exist.

From The New American’s September 16, 2019 issue:

"[T]he key components in 90 percent of the prescription and over-the-counter meds Americans take are sourced from a country [China] that our Department of Defense considers a major adversary."

“If China stopped exporting prescription drugs and their ingredients to the United States, pharmacy shelves across the country would empty within months.”

“Take the case of contaminated heparin in 2007 and 2008, when 246 Americans, including some children, died, and hundreds more were seriously injured after receiving the common blood thinner, used daily in U.S. hospitals and dialysis centers. As the body count rose, the FDA investigated to discover the culprit: a toxic contaminant deliberately placed during the manufacturing process in China.”

THE NEW AMERICAN published a Special Report dated January 8, 2018 entitled "DEEP STATE -- Pulling Strings From Behind the Scenes". For your interest I am posting here a few excerpts "From The Editor" of that special report that I hope will help further awake people to a sense of our "awful situation" (Ether 8:24).

"What is the Deep State?....In a nutshell, the Deep State is a state within a state - a shadow government that manipulates and shapes the policies of the visible government, without regard to the best interests of the country, the U.S. Constitution, the laws enacted by Congress, and the public policies of the president, who heads the executive branch....the Deep State....is working to submerge the United States in an emerging new world order (global governance),....there is also the "Deep State Behind the Deep State",....the power elites manipulating the levers of political power are outside as well as inside government. One example is the establishment powerhouse known as the Council on Foreign Relations, a globalist-minded private entity." (Pg. 5)

"The reason that the John Birch Society has had a history of being maligned since its founding is that this cabal recognizes the danger of the JBS to its existence and has done all it can to neutralize our efforts. The JBS is the only organization that recognizes the need for a counter-agenda and has worked for decades with some success in delaying this cabal's complete takeover of American society and government.
"The solution is simple: enough people of character and good will need to become involved - and do so on time - and we can turn the situation around, not simply delay the cabal's goals." (The New American, Pg. 44, January 8, 2018)

(I think there are other organizations promoting counter-agendas. But I agree that the JBS seems to have been the most effective thus far. -- Lundbaek)

"Background checks" to buy guns are sold to the public as a way to keep firearms out of the hands of "dangerous" individuals. The truth is that most guns used in crimes are not bought legally, but are usually obtained by theft. Background checks provide to the government the names of millions of American gun owners. While such transactions are not supposed to be recorded, does anyone really believe that?" (TNA, Oct. 7, 2019, Pg. 76).

From TNA, Oct. 7, 2019, Pg. 43:

"The UN is consistently anti-Israel and anti-Christian, avowedly totalitarian (and is largely composed of dictatorships), anti-American, and corrupt -- as repeated rape, pedophilia, and murder by UN troops show. With Democrats and Republicans acknowledging these facts, it's time to get out."

"At the end of WWII globalists - mainly socialists and Marxists - used the specter of a third world war to begin the United Nations. But the end goal was always world government - as they admitted."

"If we support the wrong candidates, or if we do not vote at all against the wrong candidates, this is what the Democrats and RINOs would do to us: Raise our taxes; invade our privacy; shut down pro-freedom websites; outlaw and confiscate our guns; charge us with crimes and put is in jail; impeach our president and Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh; increase state and federal spending; foreclose on our homes through eminent domain; increase crime, criminals, illegal drugs, and spread disease by opening our borders; merge the United States with Mexico and Canada to form a single "North American Union"; get us into an undeclared, no-win war that could lead to World War III; and turn the United States of America into a communist country by surrendering to a world communist government (United Nations)."

Six years old when the Stalin-induced famine ravaged Ukraine, Mykhailo Matvienko recalled the devastation caused by the deliberate starvation inflicted on the Ukrainian people by their Soviet rulers. Upwards of three million people perished, but no Soviet leaders responsible for the atrocity were held accountable. "The village was scary, everything was dead. No dogs or rooster were heard. People ate everything. Frogs were delicacies in spring." (December 24, 2018, Pg.9)

"...the United Nations is behaving more and more like the global government it seeks to become. Indeed, in recent years, the UN has continued escalating its attacks on America on subjects ranging from immigration policy and border security to abortion, healthcare, and the protection of God-given rights. It is now at the point where senior UN officials are barking orders at the U.S. government as if America were a mere administrative unit in what globalists describe as the"New World Order." And the battle may be heating up." ....."The implications of the globalist UN's anti-American, anti-life, anti-family, and anti-freedom meddling are enormous. It is now becoming clear that the agenda is to subjugate the United States under a global authority that recognizes no fundamental human rights and no power higher than itself.

The organizers of that affair had taken particular care to bring together over 1,000 pre-selected "youth leaders" from around the globe to help orchestrate the chorus of young people demanding that politicians "do something" to stop the global warming doomsday, or, they say, we will all face "extinction"."
