As with many of you, I’ve been waiting for the church to cry repentance unto this nation like prophets of old. Then in this last priesthood conference, our beloved prophet called us members unto repentance. I pondered, prayed, and begged to understand why we aren’t vehemently fighting against the soul-destroying sin we see everyday.

I felt the prophet has chosen his words carefully as of late. He has stated numerous times that the gathering of Israel is the most important work of the church at this time...in other words the times of the gentiles are fulfilled. They’ve had their chance, rejected our God, and have become fully ripe for destruction.

The doctrinal focus of the church is on purity and personal revelation. We are being called within the church to fill our oil lamps. Zion will be established soon...but it cannot be done until the church is cleansed. America will not be cleansed until after the saints are purified, sanctified, and receive the power of God in great glory.

When the upcoming persecutions, tribulations, and wars on the saints unfold, those sympathetic to sinful, godless agendas of man will fall by the wayside.

They started with wanted to knock down our neighbors flags and then we discussed property rights and free speech. Even at their young ages they noted that "free speech" had become rather one sided and that was the real source of their frustration. It ended with them agreeing we should fly the American flag during "pride month" instead. My son is more determined to strengthen his testimony so he can preach repentance better on his mission.
Everything truly had its opposite. As evil grows, so will righteousness.
May God bless and keep safe your beloved children.

When President Nelson hinted at big changes that would try the Saints, I thought it could go either way. A rejection of the world and a focus on what Christ requires of us, or move to become even more mainstream, just another cog in that wheel that used to be called the Church of the Devil by some early Saints.
It seems to me that the Church is choosing the latter path.
I felt the same after he said that. I haven't decided yet that they're on the latter path though. I think we'll keep having slow changes and then they'll ramp up. I have really seen in my own life how God is getting me to have an immovable testimony of him. I can only assume that's happening with others too. Right now the focus is to gather Israel and any significant changes may hinder that. Once that comes to a close I think we'll really ramp up a cleansing of the church.
Sometimes I get worried, legitimately. But if I remember Christ is at the helm I feel peace. Worst case scenario, think of Jonah. The Lord had no problem calling prophets to repentance before, if necessary.

Yes this is a sad thing to be sure of, however many people involved in sodomizing do not believe in God or dont have a relationship with him. Or they are struggling to be on gods side because they know Gods commandments. Ive learned that it is not good to be angry over these matters, I still dont like it, but I feel the lord is teaching me how to love unconditionally and revealed to me that its Jesus Christ who can transform these peoples lives into repentance etc. But they will not change with anger or contention, i figure it's love your enemies type of thing. God still loves these children and I can no longer judge them for there actions. I wont personally go to any parade, but i can be kind if i know someone that is involved in that way of living. Its a tough thing. It makes me want the savior to come right now. Its not an easy road but we can talk of Christ and through Christ people can change. In the last general conference one of the apostles talk was on building a relationship with christ and teaching our children more about christ and testify of christ and our children will come around to living the gospel. I thank God for helping me to remember that its Jesus who can heal us no matter what our sin.

I agree with your statements re: homosexuality. I think judgment is coming.

I also long for the day when our prophet will stand on the city gates and declare repentance etc.

However, I don't critique him for not speaking this way yet. I also don't explain the lack of this action at this time to be due to his apostasy. If you read the scriptures carefully, prophets and even the Lord use differing methods to call people to repentance. Sometimes the call is gentle and loving. Sometimes the call is in the form of a general teaching to be righteous. Sometimes it is a powerful, condemning speech on a city wall, the world's spite be damned.

I trust that the Lord and the prophet are approaching the world exactly as they feel they should at the current time. I'm willing to bet that warnings will become more powerful before the judgment comes.
