What is going on at LDS LIVING??

Today I had enough of the tripe LDS Living has been spewing with their pro LGBT agenda daily articles they email and pro women priesthood agenda.
My email to them this morning:
I am just wondering if you are trying to push an LGBTQ agenda. Everyday something is in your emails about Tom Christofferson or the validictorian that came out at graduation and “went viral”. You do realize that you are touting a doctrine of devils?? One is literally damned in their progress if they follow through with what you are encouraging almost as doctrine or something to be aspired to in your emails.
In contrast, here are words of someone who is actually standing AGAINST Babylon, and the whore of the earth the scriptures talk about:
“Marriage – one man one woman – chastity is important. There is accommodation going on everywhere to try and allow divergent forms of marriage to be acceptable or tolerated and some of that is being done as a desperate measure to try and reduce suicide rates among young people, where suicide rates in Utah have climbed. As clearly as I can put it, wickedness never was and never will be happiness. There is embedded into each of us, as deeply as our DNA itself, a course in life which if pursued in the proper way, will result in the bearing of children and a fullness of joy experienced as a consequence of introducing offspring into the world for whom you are granted the challenge, the privilege, and the opportunity of nurturing and caring and teaching. These are things that stretch you beyond your comfort zone. These are things that will tear at your heart. These are challenges that will befuddle you, that will make you question and re-evaluate and reconsider time and time again, who you are and what you are saying, and how you are treating these your children.
The institution of marriage was designed, by its very nature, by that God who created us, to allow us to engage in that God like process. It can be experienced in the way that God intended in one and only one way; that is through the marriage of man and the woman together, through their union that is intended to produce offspring, through her struggle to bear and bring forth the child, through his protection and providing for her during her period of inability and her period of nursing and caring for the infant that is utterly dependent upon the body of the mother for its existence. All of these things are Godlike. They are instructions, they are experiences, that are intended to convey through the mortal body and the mortal experience, things that replicate and reflect a divine prospective about life itself, about who God is, because God is a male and a female and they are productive. Their love results in the creation of more life. They experience a fullness of joy and when you have all joy in its fullness the only way in which it is possible to make more joy is to create others in which they too can experience a fullness of joy. And so that increases through offspring, through family, through progeny.
You will not reduce suicide rates by pursuing a course that says wickedness can be entertained, the purposes of God can be frustrated, the experiences that God intended for us to go through and to have in this life can be set at not and you can approach the whole thing in a different mechanism, in a different pretense, because however deeply you may feel about that structure, at its core, it defective, it is desolation, it is a practice if it were universally engaged in then all who are here today will be the last generation that will ever live, because it produces desolation and if at the core of the relationship what you have is a desolate future, there is no amount of psychological treatment, anti-depressive medication, or lies you can tell to yourself, that will make you say, what I’m engaged in is not in the eyes of God abominable. You cannot destroy that truth. If you want happiness, because of the way we were created by the creator himself, it is to be obtained by following the path ordained by the creator to realize the results that he established in your heart, in your sole, in your spirit, in your body, even in your DNA. “
Maybe you can start standing up for truth, which can be unaltered by any mortal, even if they call it “their truth” or that “they were made a certain way”. Instead of identifying as the sin (a.k.a. LGBTQ) they can put their identify instead as a son or daughter of God. Anytime we identify as what the sin or weakness is, that solidifies that that is what we are.
Where are those who will prophesy and strive NOT to be popular in the eyes of the world? The past 4 years especially that I have been reading your emails, it seems like that is ALL that is cared about. If you think that is true, then how awful is our situation? We have all become tares. God only saved 8 in Noah’s day because all flesh had become corrupted (this after an entire city was translated, how fast was the downfall of those who stayed on earth). If he is willing to only save 8 who refused to seek after Babylons popularity, who refused to engage in “lusts after strange flesh” (Jude 1:7, Romans 1:27) and who refused to be filled with pride, thinking God would sanction their every move. He will do the same again. Just because we partake of the sacrament (many unworthily as they have not repented and humbled themselves before taking it) and go to the temple, does NOT mean we are clean before the Lord. Most likely the same was true in Noah’s day (as it is In the days of Noah, so will it be in the last days JST Matthew 1:41) and the Lord saved only 8!!
I urge you to get some GUTS and stand for what’s right instead of being tossed to and fro like the waves (James 1:6) and keep infecting those who read your posts with vomit from the tables of the world.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I no longer get copies of LDSLiving, and I'm not on their mailing list. Could you post a link here, so I can sign up and send them my thoughts on their evil agenda?
Edit: I found it. Signing up.

What we are up against: from Susie Augenstein, subject of the Apostasy in Riverton thread.
I have realized this week that as I have read the comment section on my friend Matt Easton’s BYU valedictorian speech that an overwhelming majority of the negative comments are coming from the Deseret News, LDS living, and KSL. All of these news sources have written positive stories about this experience that happened at BYU but the comment section is filled with arrogance, pride, judgement and self righteousness. The few beautiful comments are totally overshadowed by the negative.
All I can say as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is “HOW SAD........how so incredibly sad.” I want to shout from the rooftops the words of Elder Uchtdorf “STOP IT!”
I CAN’T understand why at times we as members of the church of Jesus Christ feel the need to do exactly the opposite of what our religion teaches. WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS!
I remember when my husband was bishop and a little over a year ago and we held a 5th Sunday meeting where we listened to understand talks from our lgbtq brothers and sisters. We had an overwhelming positive response. I would say 99% positive. Then we had the one unsigned letter written criticizing my husband for having this meeting and then a Facebook troll who found our phone numbers and texted my husband saying he was a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing and called for our excommunication. It was comical to me and this troll consistently reinvents himself on Facebook and comes at us with his self righteous attacks. I’m happy to say that at almost age 50 I have learned to let that kind of negativity run right off me because I KNOW what the gospel is and what my Heavenly Father expects from me.
My husband often calls me a walking billboard when I wake up and put on one of my many shirts that expresses the desires of my heart. Today I am sporting my brand new shirt that my friend from Arizona sent me. It simply states “LOVE ONE ANOTHER”. Of course it is adorned in my favorites rainbow colors! Sometimes I wonder if we Mormons are spending time wandering in the wilderness right now until our Heavenly Father and Mother see that we get this right. I hope we don’t have to wander for 40 years.
I guess my point it that we don’t have to be the judge. I am safe to assume that God gets pretty frustrated when we take His job away from Him. Besides the fact that He is the only one who can do that job right because He is kind, benevolent, and knows exactly what each of his children are going through and the rest of us don’t. He will be more than fair and more than loving because His sole desire is to have EVERYONE of His children return to him. So......with that said He only requires two things from us. 1. Love God and 2. Love our neighbor. Pretty simple right?
So stop worrying if I have my ears doubled pierced (even though I was the bishop’s wife and you think I should have known better).....Love me anyway! Stop looking at the return missionary who got a tattoo (wondering why he would do that).....love him anyway. Stop questioning that BYU student’s motives for giving that amazing vulnerable speech.....You don’t get to guess why he did that.....you don’t get to put words in his mouth that he never said....you don’t get to make any assumptions about his motives because guess what, YOU DON’T KNOW HIS HEART! What you do get to do is follow the most important teaching of your religion and you get the privilege of LOVING HIM.
We know better and we need to do better so that our lights can shine. LETS LOVE BETTER!

And to be clear, Susie Augenstein and many others at Mormon Building Bridges and other pro-gay-marriage LDS groups, want nothing less than homosexual marriage sanctioned by the Church. They say the spiritual feelings they have when hearing and associating with LGBTQ couples has witnessed to them that God has ordained marriage between same-sex couples as well as man-woman.
They talk a lot about loving and not judging gays, but they are full of hate and vitriol for any church member or church leader who still claims same-sex relations are sinful.
They can judge us as bigots, haters, homophobes and straight supremacists, and responsible for beautiful children and youth committing suicide, but then tell us not to judge.
So incredibly sad.

People can hold onto their convictions and still love people. I don't know why the church is being expected to let go of their convictions in the name of making people feel good about their sinful activities.

"They" would include Sherri Dew at the top of the executive structure. LDSLiving is a division of Deseret Book, and she is the CEO of Deseret Book. She lives on the same cul-de-sac as her lifelong friend, Wendy Watson Nelson, and it frightens me to think she may have influence, even in a very small way, over Pres and Sister Nelson.
Yep. So much "pride".

This caveat gives them the right to print articles that go counter to what the Prophet and Apostles teach, and to the definition of the covenant of chastity that is church doctrine.
Someone has the final say (at least in their corporate structure) of what is printed in LDSLiving, and that person at the top of the ladder is Sheri Dew. As long as she is not reprimanded, LDSLiving will continue its pro-LGBT agenda.

Lots I want to say to this woman.
First, this is what I call "Don't Judge!" judging. It's people who feel all forms of judging are wrong except for two: any form they personally use, and whenever they're judging someone else who is judging.
Everyone judges. Some do it righteously, some don't.
Also, I would say that while it's certainly true that some comments have been truly spiteful, most I see come from a place of genuine concern and love of God and a desire to keep His commandments.
It boils down to this:
If this young man is part of the large and growing group at BYU (and elsewhere in the church) who is trying to use whatever soapbox they're allowed to stand upon to convince the members of the church to be accepting of gay sex and gay marriage (and to perform gay sealings in temples), then we are right to condemn this action (even if we should be more careful about condemning this person).
If he was just naive or inexperienced and failed to say some things that could have avoided much of this confusion, I feel bad for him. He came so close to delivering a wonderful speech. Where was the part about same-sex attraction being a weakness that must be overcome with Christ's help? Where was the affirmation of God's law of chastity, and his commitment to keep it? Why do speeches like this rarely have either of those things?
I think the church WANTS to be supportive, but we need to be able to trust that we're not being led into a kill box. Self-advocacy is very important, but so is the truth about chastity and the plan of God, and we need to hear more of that from these beloved children of God.
If he had given the speech I wish he would, the media around the country would have crucified him, but the church (generally) would have embraced him and his words. Instead, Babylon is embracing him, and many in the church are suspicious of his motives and are asking for clarification.

The church has several for-profit businesses. While the church does reach out and use those businesses for its own ends on occasion, most of what we see has nothing to do with the church in terms of being dictated to by church leaders. The church might set a vision or a guideline, but the employees are people making their own decisions. Sometimes the decisions help. Sometimes they hurt. The organizations certainly aren't immune from hiring wolves, who then use the platform to deceive. That happens, usually subtly.
The thing that is on my radar, and it's something I've been writing about for years now elsewhere, is when people are pained (as I've been frequently) to see something happen at a church-owned institution that doesn't seem to align with the doctrine. We need to set accurate expectations. We can't assume that just because an organization is owned by the church, it will therefore toe the line of the church. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't. We shouldn't base our testimony on it, that's for sure.
But something else is also true. If the day-to-day decisions in these organizations aren't made by our priesthood leaders who hold keys, and if these organizations are for-profit, they are also fair game for constructive criticism and all the other market forces we use anywhere and everywhere else.
We shouldn't hesitate to write our strong opinion to these organizations. We shouldn't worry that if we do, we're doing something apostate (because we're not). THEY use their opinion in their work. They are culture organizations. They respond to culture and market forces, not to prophets and apostles. They need to hear our thoughts and feelings about their work. We should be nice yet firm. We should be consistent.

It never sat well with me when Deseret Book and the Distribution Center were combined.
Before that time I would often warn people not to assume something was ok or correct just because they found it at Deseret Book. Need I mention the fact that the Twilight series was sold there among other garbage?
Worse is the books written by members, full of false doctrine, who people quote with authority because they bought it at Deseret Book.
I can hardly stand to go into the new combo store for copies of Ensigns or Come Follow Me or Scriptures or garments. I don't want to join a "rewards program" or get LDS Living. Seriously detracts from why I am there.

"I CAN’T understand why at times we as members of the church of Jesus Christ feel the need to do exactly the opposite of what our religion teaches. WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS!"
Man, the irony there is so thick there's no way through it. She's worried about people calling her and her husband to repentance (rightfully or wrongfully), but she's not worried about those who are doing "exactly the opposite of what our religion teaches", which is to form family units that will persist through time and eternity. Classic. I'd love to have a debate with this gal - and I don't even know exactly where I land on these issues.

I had never heard of LDS Living until now, but I just book marked it, and it will be one of the web sites I follow from here on.
Thanks for the heads up!
Yeah, typical disingenuous sodomite "friendly" banter. Always the same tone. Just like Rachel Maddow. Let's all just bet that the bible is of no consequence in our existence. It says whatever we want it to say. Because our perversions are NOT negotiable. Our vindication for doing that which is wrong will not be questioned. Nothing can stop us now! Forward, Soviet!!

Sheri and Wendy also own(ed) a vacation home together. Strange brew.

so I wonder if there IS some truth in this after all ? ? ?
I've had more than one female member of the church tell me
that intuitively they've felt Sheri Dew was lesbian.

"Wendy L. Watson and Sheri L. Dew have been “best friends” for well over a decade. In fact, in October, 2000, they bought a vacation home together in Heber Valley (where Monson and many of the Apostles have second or third homes). They were granted a warranty deed as “Wendy L. Watson, an unmarried person and Sheri L. Dew, an unmarried person, joint tenants tenants” and later, in 2002, refinanced it together for $245,800, paying it off in 2007 and rearranging the ownership until at present they are both still listed together. "

Typical hate mongering speech. So now you’ve lowered yourself to name calling?

How do you go from “They own a piece of property together” to “They’re lesbian lovers”?
And as to a woman’s intuition? Let’s just say I don’t think the phenomenon would stand a chance if you performed a well designed study on it.

oh - I don't know.
I don't pretend to read minds
but I will say that many times before,
sometimes I've been able to tell if a guy was gay or not,
And I've been right. ( I AM a guy btw)
I think that many people - usually of the same sex
can sense if someone is gay or lesbian.

More shaming from you. Homosexuals are always shaming others, while they are engaged in the height of shameful acts, themselves. I've seen them doing this since the 1970's.
