Yes, the left has no qualms about punishing you if you do not comply with them, be it fines, or prison or death camps. History does tend to repeat itself. And be as nice as you like, it will not matter to them.

Yes, this message is very important. I wonder if Beck realizes how much this has infiltrated the Church? All the pro-gay marriage groups claim that they just want kindness and understanding, with names like Listen, Learn, and Love, and Let's Love Better, and Affirmation, but the reality is that want total acceptance of their marriages and sexual deviancy, including temple sealings, and the opportunity for exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom as practicing gays to be taught from the pulpit as official Church Doctrine. They demand we agree that their sins are not sins. They have no room for any tolerance, nor for any difference of opinion on their actions.

And we only have ourselves to blame. The right should have crushed these parasitic vermin when they first showed their heads. No, instead we fell for their lies and were afraid of being labeled as "racist, homophobic, bigots etc." Sadly the church has followed the same path. Rather than call it out for what it is they have waved the white flag of "tolerance." Mark my words, we will see the temple of the Lord desecrated with the Satanic perversion of homosexual marriage. 20 years ago, even 10 years ago did you think you would see commercials on television with two fathers or two mothers? Proven by the fact that Richard Ostler's pro-LGBTQ presentation given to members of the Church is full of quotes from the Brethren. He, personally, does not go so far as to say that gay sealings should be performed in the temples, but he does say that each ward and stake can be as "inclusive" as they choose, excepting temple privileges. That's why we are seeing wards hosting baby showers for 2 gay men, and ward members attending gay weddings, and members of the Church performing these wedding ceremonies.

Now that the "apostate" label for gay marriage has been rescinded, stake presidents have more discretion on how, or even IF, they discipline acting homosexuals. One mother has said her 17-year-old daughter is dating other girls, and has a limited-use recommend and does baptisms with her ward youth group. Her bishop is fine with her "dating" as long as she doesn't have sex. Slippery slope.

I realize you're speaking figuratively here. But what exactly should "the right" have done, and when? Who are the parasitic vermin, and how should the right have crushed them?

You didn't ask me, and I don't have a comprehensive answer, but a big door was opened when Elder Christofferson said, in a press conference, with Oaks by his side, that members of the Church were free to support gay marriage among their friends and family and on social media, as long as they weren't attacking the church. I knew, the very moment I heard that statement, that a huge mistake had been made.

I totally understand that Christofferson meant gay marriage as a societal construct, and not gay marriage as a church doctrine, but he gave an inch and they have taken a mile, and they will not stop until they have their way, or the church is destroyed. They are venomous.

The thread has concentrated on the gay issue, but I will guarantee you there are conservative gays and lesbians who, if the society collapses, will fight by your side. However, those men and women in those marches wearing the vagina hats...I think would have no problem taking your kids from you if laws were passed outlawing teaching children Gospel principles, and the militant gun control people would giggle and laugh if a neighbor of theirs was gunned down for refusing to turn in her guns after a future government might make it illegal to possess them. Never forget, your child's grade school teacher, the one with the peace and love stickers on her car, might easily justify in her mind calling the authorities and turning you in for your food storage.

I understood Aprhys was speaking about the right/left political divide in the US, not the church. Because after he says that the right should have crushed these parasitic vermin when they first showed their heads, he goes on to say that the church has sadly followed the same path. Meaning he wasn't talking about the church before.

I get how the church—an authoritarian, centrally controlled organization—could have crushed the parasitic vermin of progressive members. They could have just started excommunicating them all. Easy peasy.

I'm wondering how Aprhys imagines "the right" in America should have crushed these vermin when they first showed their heads. How would that work in a pluralistic society governed by a federal republic? Does he mean that the right should have "crushed" the left at the ballot box? Or did he have a more direct intervention in mind?

Yes I know what it means, but the phrase should only be used concerning events mirrored in the bible. For example, the "floods were on a biblical scale", or the "famine is of biblical proportions", otherwise it doesn't work and shouldn't be used.

We wouldn't say "car production at the new factory was on a biblical scale" or "the apple harvest from my orchard this year was of biblical proportions".

So to say "the left is heading down the path to fascisim on a biblical scale" is an incorrect use of the phrase and nullifies it's meaning and doesn't really work. It's certainly an inappropriate application of the phrase. There was no "left" or "fascism" in the bible, even if we can find mention of a path once or twice.

I would not have used the phrase but it may actually fit in the context of good v. evil. The more moderate left would like to persuade us to abandon God-given natural rights and morality. The more militant would just as soon send those they disagree with to a gulag or worse. And make no mistake about it, they don't look like thugs, they wear nice clothes, talk nice, and use words like "compassion" and "diversity." Give them the power though and you will see just how tolerant they really are.

Did you watch the video? Glenn uses two Biblical examples of fascism, both involving homosexuality, to make his comparison.

The left does not share the same goals as most of us do:

Glenn Beck is an interesting fellow - he's right that the Left is uncompromising and will take a mile whenever we yield an inch. But the choice of Biblical examples of Fascism is a bit... odd.
George Orwell, writing shortly after World War II, said that "the word 'Fascism' has now no meaning except insofar as it signifies 'something not desirable'."
And the situation is pretty much the same today. So if you take that VERY lose definition of Fascism, then I suppose those biblical stories illustrate Fascism, since homosexual gang rape definitely qualifies as "something not desirable."

Considering that the wicked of this world are just so over the top, isn't it nice that "Time is running out"?
