Is Society Becoming Mentally Ill?

Something that has bothered me lately is the fruit that seems to be appearing in our mainstream reality. It's like the symptoms of mental Illness are becoming a way of life.

To me, a big part of mental illness is when you are so afraid something could go wrong you can't function anymore.

The way the doctors and police are ready to put people in jail for doing something that could have resulted in something bad happening, or this habit of suing each other if something goes wrong; is causing a helping of insanity to spread across our culture. I would rather things go wrong then live in the hell of enforced obsessive compulsive, over the top anxious and maniacal ounces upon heaping ounces of prevention.

I don't mind an ounce of prevention, but I do mind if my neighbor takes on the role of God in telling me what is safe and what isn't.

Part of freedom is the freedom to fail. Nature is very good at heaping consequences. I don't see the need to add to them and to make heavy burdens for each other to carry.

There seems almost a religiousness to the ideology of forcing people to comply to perceived safety regulations. What started out as a damper on fun for safety's sake, and seemingly reasonable justification, is now becoming more a damper on the ability to just live.

It seems that removing God from our culture was so harmless. But, I can see how now, when things go wrong, instead of turning to God and repenting of sin, we turn on each other.

Maybe someone felt God warn them not to do the surgery, but since God doesn't matter, they did it anyway. Then it goes wrong, so instead of repenting and listening to God again, sue the doctor!

A plague, and illness, or infestation, that just doesn't go away, instead of repenting, blame the people around you who "gave" you the disease or etc.

I get it, history has examples of horrible things being done because God said so. And that is the wrong end of the spectrum.

But, it used to be, when hard times occurred, people turned to God for help. But now that God is out of the picture, how exactly do we solve our problems? Well, we can make more and more restrictions on each other. More quarantines, more hospital protocols based on prevention instead of health, etc etc etc.

Soon perhaps people will be restricted from buying and selling because their beliefs are the cause of hate or violence, and etc etc etc

Some on the left, including RINOs, have taken to heart the perfection of policing as portrayed in the movie Minority Report. (I don't care for Tom Cruise, so I hate to mention one of his movies - excuse me, okay I excuse me). Someone can now (in some states) report to a judge that you are a threat to them (based on nothing) or "we think he is mentally ill" and that you have guns (so how do they know this?), the judge can then issue a red flag warrant and police are commanded to go to your home and take your firearms. Last November a man was killed in Maryland when police attempted to enforce such a ruling by a judge. As far as I can tell, at the time of the ruling and the killing of the man in his own home - he had not yet committed a crime. The only information that has been shared, so far, that I can find, was given by the officers, who, let's face it, could be lying through their teeth.

Its based alot on perspective. Many things that are normal, healthy and encouraged are seen as odd by others and vise versa.
People who believe in God are considered more and more often to be delusional.

As far as mental illnesses such as deprssion and anxiety, absolutely they are widespread.
As well as low confidence, self esteem issues, gender issues, identity issues, sexual perversions, pride, selfishness, greed, apathy, hate, etc etc

We are becoming more divided and further from truth and proper patterns of behavior because of wickedness. Wickedness leads to an ill society and ill people. Everyone developes their own version of “normal” and division and judgements happen. We are not keeping our first estate and we are not being true to ourselves, the disconnect that happens is predictable.

Also, there are many who are just sick and tired of the world these days and are having a hard time.

I thought of this when I read your OP

23 Verily, verily, I say unto you, darkness covereth the earth, and gross darkness the minds of the people, and all flesh has become corrupt before my face.

The title of this thread could have been "Is Evil rampant in the world today?" because the denial of Christ and His truth invites Satan's lies and deceptions to take over our thinking. We're seeing mass craziness sweep across the globe as a result. It's amazing how many today have taken up the role of zombies so to speak...

Actually it's much more broad than that. It's present in abundance in partyism in general, especially in the false left vs right paradigm. Truth and Liberty have been abandoned by the 90%+ for a false perspective of good vs evil.

And, yes, the young generation seem to be increasingly more mentally ill as society continues to degenerate.

Another big part of today's mental illness is the belief that anyone who disagrees with you is spreading "hate speech', so they should not be listened to, and deserve a good beat down. Right out of Antifa's play book.

Everyone is tired. 80% of Americans drink coffee, mostly because they couldn't make it a day at work without it.
Everyone needs to work hard and produce, or the next person will take the job.
The stress and tiredness and messed-up hormonal balance make everyone too scrambled. That means there is little ability to or time for contemplation, meditation, quiet, peace.
Everything is expensive, and thrift requires patience, which is hard to come by these days. Taxes need to be payed, those that don't need to keep up with the Jones' still need to keep up with basic needs of "modern life".
Everyone gets behind, which means it's hard to love and help others.
The body, mind, and emotions are being tossed this way and that. Toxins of all types are multiplying, including being around toxic people.
The pendulum swings further each way each day, and the ride gets wilder.
Why will Saints spend so much time in the temples during the hard times ahead?
