Fascists exalt the nation above the needs of individuals. Most regimes have a ultra powerful leader, and they use violence to supress or kill their opposition.

Fascism on display, Michael Knowles shouted down and assaulted at the University of Missouri KC for his extreme view that men are not women. Fascism is the system that promotes and allows these types of attacks to happen. 10 minutes:

I don't think we've moved far since Orwell's day.
Now, if you're curious about what Fascism meant before the War, when people like Mussolini invoked it, while Franco and Hitler led ideologies with huge differences from Mussolini's that tend to get ironed over in modern times, then you can have a serious discussion.
But Fascism in today's discourse? It's just "something not desirable." Especially if Trump is involved.
