I think you’re wrong friend. Plenty of fornicators and adulterers have turned away from their sins and turned to God for mercy and obtained it. Plenty of gay men have as well. It makes it a little more difficult to do so when throughout their whole life “Saints” make gay jokes about them and insult them in a way those Saints wouldnt insult those who commit other sexual sins in heterosexual relationships.

Hold on, Toast. I thought the whole point of this thread was cheap distraction, as you make ridiculous assertions and pretend to hold court here, as some kind of enlightened arbiter. Your point is purely to cause agitation, though. I don't believe there is a shred of sincerity in anything you've said, beyond your desire to advocate gross sin. We've peeled your onion quite a bit, already, and it's been increasingly rotten.

Re: Current Mormon Apostate Apostle Confession letter
In this quote from the letter, he describes why he started researching church history etc. And the 2nd quote seems to be his reasoning for writing the letter.
In my earnest attempt to protect the Saints from a perilous eternal destiny and abate any further shrinkage in the membership rolls, I felt that I must urgently do my best to save as many souls as possible in what I thought to be the ushering in of the last days, according to prophecy. “If I could keep some of these lost sheep from straying, I could preserve their heavenly inheritance and further bless
3
their entire posterity,” I thought. Perhaps I could be the Lord’s Apostle who could find the formula, or the magic arguments, to bring people back to the fold and keep the flock intact. So I set out into enemy territory to learn about Satan’s tactics—to study his playbook and beat him at his own game. Again, I felt this was my duty as a Special Witness to the Lord.
I began to read and study with an open mind, in the way we are told Satan tempts his unwary targets to do. I wanted the same full perspective that those who succumb might experience before their fall.
I can no longer be a part of duping 16 million church members (only about 4 million active) simply because I am too afraid of how it may impact my own family, friends, and future. I can no longer live a lie, now that I know, unequivocally, that it is a lie.

Re: Current Mormon Apostate Apostle Confession letter
It's not that I don't believe an Apostle would or could ever leave the Church, but IF it did happen it would look nothing like that letter.
The letter was clearly written by the type of liberal ex-mormon atheist that spends a lot of time on r/exmormon.

It could very well have been an exmormon atheist. Why do you think a liberal one? I wouldn't think political affiliation is related to religious beliefs. Well except when the chruch teaches some ultra conservative Rexburg classes. Oh I can't recall what that class was called. I certainly don't remember any political stuff in the letter anyway.
If that's not a letter an Apostle would write, I couldn't imagine what one would look like then.

It had been dead for two days, but then Toast bumped it. I'd bet he's the author. It's definitely written by someone a lot younger and less experienced than any current Apostle.

In other news, it looks like the Apostle's plan to "tarry a bit longer and influence the Church from within" may be working with the recent rollback of the 4 year old policy on LGBT.

Do you realize that based on US nation-wide health reports, homosexuality statistically proves to be harmful?
Not only does it have much higher rates of STDs, AIDS/HIV and anal cancer, also even with those relatively few men - who act out homosexuality, who are careful about using protection etc to not spread STDs - also have risks of anal fissures, colon rupture and bacterial infection.
Why would you encourage behavior KNOWN to be harmful??
Why?
Do you hate people so much? Are you blinded by your own homosexual issues?
Or do you want so much to be liked that you go along with the popular thing, even if it means hurting others?
I don't get it.
If you really loved people, you would never encourage behavior so undeniably known to be harmful.

Toast, you are fighting a useless battle. You're probably not going to admit it here, but you were likely abused in childhood by some man You've inherited his condition without any prospect of reward. If you could let go of the damage done, perhaps you could be released from this fruitless struggle. You'd be free to develop your talents and experience joy. God certainly has good things in store for you.
