online tithes

Post by tdj »

Anyone know that if you pay tithes online, whether or not a copy goes to your local ward? That's how I'm wanting to pay for now on with my new job, but I don't want my temple recommend approval to get stalled because of it.

Anyone here do it, and how does it work?

I’ve been paying tithing online for over 4 years now. No problems at all.
www.lds.org/donation You should already have an LDS.org account

I have never had a bishop or stake president demand that I hand over pay statements or other financial records so they can decide if I really do pay a full tithing.

I am sure that records are shared locally, as before each tithing settlement I am provided a copy of my year to date donation record.

We've been paying online for years. Why on earth would your Temple recommend be stalled?? You simply say yes or no when asked if you're a full tithe payer. Nobody is double checking anything. In fact, there are a lot of people who donate to charities and think they're paying tithing who get temple recommends. Its not good to tell lies in order to get a recommend, but people even on this site take pride in it.
