Local Wal Mart Out of .22lr in 550 rd Bulk Pack

I asked if they had any coming in and was told that their warehouse was out and that the stores orders had been refused. Is anyone else experiencing this locally? The guy behind the counter said the thought it wouldn't be a problem at the Wal Marts in the major towns. I told him I was glad that I stocked up a while back and was happy to hear that others have done likewise. He said some people had purchased 20 boxes.
They still had some .22lr cartridges, however they were in more expensive boxes, such as the 50 round boxes and the 333 round bulk packs. They didn't appear to have much of that unless there was more in the back. I can't believe how much those cost.

Not sure about 22lr but when i went in to buy bulk 7.62x39 yesterday at Cabela's the guy at the gun counter said they had been out since before the election and didn't expect any until March.

I bought more 30-30 shells Friday. Expensive little things. Big 5 still has them for $16.99 minus the Remington $5 rebate. 20 shells for $12 is still pricey but oh well, that's the gun I have. I 'll stock up on bb's now for future chicken dinners.

Stay away from my chickens, shadow. Maybe it's time to electrify my chicken run?

Ha! Our rooster gets the same level of respect from our girls. That reminds me, I have a couple frozen carcasses I should cook up.

Yes, for a BB gun. If I'm going to shoot a robin I see no need to blow it to smithereens. A BB gun will do the trick, plus the 'hood won't know about it.

That's fine with me, robins taste great, as do black birds and starlings. However, if noise is a problem, there's an easier way. Just soak wheat in booze, medicinal of course! You'll soon have robins enough for a large amount of stew! Brace yourself and purchase a few bottles of cheap booze for storage. All it takes is a cupful of wheat or other grain (not rice). And keep eyes on, don't let the cats get your prey, unless of course your interested in consuming the cats. You'll find that cleaning small birds like robins is pretty easy. Just have a pair of side cuts on hand, pull off the head with a quick jerk, clip off the wings and the feet above the knee joint. skin the rest of the bird and remove the guts. With practice, 30 seconds per bird, "if" the bird is still warm! Sometimes/most times, when we have a lot of birds, we just take the breasts.
Large flocks of starlings frequent our area, hundreds have graced our dinner table.

Thanks Bob! Now, off to Maverick for some medicine.
How does this process kill the birds?

I just purchased two handguns (40 S&W and 9 mm) from the Sportsman's Warehouse in Des Moines and they had no bullets for either gun and didn't know when they would get any. I then went to my hometown Walmart to see if they had any bullets and they had the 100 pack of 9 mm, but no 40 S&W. I went back a week later and they finally had some 40 S&W in stock so I bought two packs of 100 and that was half the stock.
When I bought my two guns, I got them the morning after they had their "surprise" delivery from Springfield Armory the night before. They received 1 pallet of the new XDM in all the different models. The guy behind the counter said the entire pallet would be gone by the end of the week at the latest.

I purchased the XDM in both the 40 S&W and the 9 mm. I am embarrassed to admit that in the three weeks I have had the guns, I have only shot the 40 S&W a total of 15 rounds. I have been way to busy at work to get out. What I shot, I loved. The guns feel wonderful in the hands. They made some good improvements over the regular XD. The thing I like about the XDM is the barrel length is 4.5 inches which is "not to cold, not to hot, but just right" if you get my drift. The other thing I like is the higher capacity mags. The 40 S&W will hold 16 in the mag and the 9 mm will hold 19 in the mag.

I talked to a guy at work who said he went to the Utah County area looking for reloading supplies and found the major retailers mostly sold out of common items. I couldn't find a 4lb jub of imr4895 last time I looked at Sportsmans. Hopefully next time. I am about out.

Everything is being snapped up. The gun industry isn't hurting!

Purchased ammo at the Walmart in Fernley, NV last week. They seemed to be a bit low in ammo on the shelf, but they had what I needed. I always pay cash for these items.

12 gauge Buckshot at walmart is still expensive. I was told "No deals on ammo until after hunting season".

I was at Center St Brass yesterday. They were out of 30 short and other items. Still had primers. Sportsman's was almost completely out of powders. I only saw 1 lb of IMR 4895 all day and I didn't buy it, thinking I could buy some at Sportsmans. Boy, was that stupid!
My local hardware store was out of 4895 and said they couldn't order any.

Went into the local Walmart tonight to buy a few more rounds. The clerk was waiting on a couple who were looking over a few rifles. One of the rifles was one that I owned, so I struck up a conversation with them. During this conversation I mentioned that I would never buy a firearm from Walmart because Walmart has begun storing video of purchases to create an internal log of which guns they sell. This was done to appease Mayor Bloomberg and get their stores into NYC. The couple decided to shop elsewhere. The Walmart clerk was very surly when she rang up my purchase.

nice joe, I went there today to get supplies to change my oil. A crowd was gathered around the gun counter. It also sells fishing licenses which is the only reason I am there, so I didn't think much of it. Now that I do, my thoughts are that they were probably getting their last minute hunting rifles.

We were looking for a shotgun and almost bought one from Walmart but decided to wait and then instead got a better one at a gun show for a better price. I'm really glad we didn't get it Walmart after hearing they keep video of all gun purchases

Today Cabellas had bulk packs of Federal .22 lr (525 rds, not 550 any more) for ~$16.50. The KMart in Draper had .22 lr bulk packs for ~$30!!! I couldn't believe it. I think Sportsmans is still out. I didn't see any there.
Bob, you're advice on pellet rifles seemed good to me. You inspired me to give two of my sons Benjamin pellet rifles for Christmas. I also purchased a less expensive Crossman for my soon to be 8 yr old.
