The rule or commandment or admonishment or request to not use the word Mormon only applies to ... Mormons, that is ... members of the church.kittycat51 wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2019, 9:56 am At first I didn't want to click on the link seeing that it was from CNN, but I did. I think overall it was written pretty well. But I also found it quite degrading to focus on the dropping of the name "Mormon" yet throughout the article it refers to us as the Mormon Church. They could have used some respect and referred to us as at least Latter Day Saints.
Maybe I need to start keeping a yellow notebook by my bed...![]()
Personally, I view it as a request only. Which, with information gleaned from this article and other sources, would suggest it's more of a personal request from President Nelson. It does not bother me to be called a Mormon. The name of the church itself never changed. I dont see this whole ordeal being revelation or commandment.David13 wrote: ↑March 24th, 2019, 5:26 pmThe rule or commandment or admonishment or request to not use the word Mormon only applies to ... It has no power or effect on anyone lese. They are still free in law, agency, religion, or atheism, anything else to refer to us, or anyone for that matter, as they please.
It's known as ... freedom of speech.

Does anyone have a link to the recent Church video referred here? I've missed it.When the messages come during the dark of night, Russell M. Nelson reaches for his lighted pen and takes dictation from the Lord.
"OK dear, it's happening," the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints tells his wife, Wendy Nelson.
"I just remain quiet and soon he's sitting up at the side of the bed, writing," she said in a recent church video.
Sometimes the spirit prompts the prophet's wife to leave the bed, though she'd rather sleep. One such morning, Wendy Nelson told Mormon leaders, her husband emerged from the bedroom waving a yellow notebook.
"Wendy, you won't believe what's been happening for two hours," she recalled Russell Nelson saying. "The Lord has given me detailed instructions on a process I am to follow."
If we sustain him as a seer when does he use the Urim and Thummim. I’m very interested in this.inho wrote: ↑March 25th, 2019, 12:35 pm For those who haven't clicked the link, this is how it begins:Does anyone have a link to the recent Church video referred here?
