My step daughter’s boyfriend is currently serving a mission. Someone he knows just received a mission call, and it said the duration of his mission would be announced in conference.
Anyone know about this?
Just curious. I was one of the few who served 18 months, in Hong Kong by the way. I would love to go back and see the temple there, it stands where the old mission home used to be.
I think a shorter mission may influence more young men to serve, but there was a concern before about how it impacted those who learned a language. Of course sister missionaries serve 18 months currently and seem to be fine.
God bless,
Mission duration possibly changing soon?

I could see how some could benefit. I think flexibility is beneficial to the missionary program. Ultimately I know many young men who could personally benefit from such a call.tsc wrote: ↑March 15th, 2019, 10:26 pm My step daughter’s boyfriend is currently serving a mission. Heard reports of the same thing for October, 2018 conference but nothing.
