It obviously can't be just dropped. OI mentioned a phased-out approach. I think that's the best way, myself. Speaking for myself only, I'd be willing to pay into that system for the rest of my life and never receive a penny of benefits from it if it meant my children would be free.

Many Seniors depend on their SS checks to live each month. Some of them are too old or too infirm to hold down a full-time job anymore. Some no longer have spouses or children willing or able to support them financially. If the government takes away their income, what do we do with them - put them in the pound and euthanize them like family pets?

This is already the plan by those in power. Zion must be built and families must take care of each other again.
