And those of you who keep harassing him could stop that.

Re: Praying to find Lost Keys!
This summer my son went with his friend to a cabin. He parked in his friend's driveway and left to the cabin with his car keys. I got a frantic call from him the next morning that his dad could not move his work truck out of the garage because of where he parked. He asked me to find the spare key that had been missing for a while. I turned the house upside down and prayed and prayed. I wasn't sure that Heavenly Father would answer me because I had not been reading my scriptures as much or praying as much as I used to. I felt far from Him. I knew that, absolutely He could but wasn't sure that He would.
My son said that they realized the car was unlocked (a miracle if you ask me) but that they could not put it in neutral without the key. I finally went and filled my car up with gas so I could make the 6 HOUR round trip to pick up the key. I knew that God knew where that key was and was sad that he wouldn't answer me in my sinful state. I was really going to have to drive six hours to get a key. As I was filling the car up, in my sorrow, I heard a voice ask, "Have I ever answered your prayers when you weren't being perfect?" The answer was a resounding "Yes!" Then I got the idea to look at you tube and put "2007 Toyota Camry neutral without a key". There was a 30 second video that somebody posted 3 years earlier. I sent it to him, he sent it to his friend's dad and they were able to move his car.
I was very humbled, grateful and learned a lot.

Re: Praying to find Lost Keys!
Perhaps it isn't God that does not care. God knows unbelief when he sees it. He is alerted by a lack of faith when it is loudly made known. And he certainly is aware of hardheartedness by anyone displaying all of these traits. God knows our hearts, thoughts and intents.Dusty52 wrote: ↑March 12th, 2019, 11:18 am It's not about the keys, its never been about the keys!
Do you really think God is interested in helping me or anyone else find keys, no of course not, that's not what this post is about, it's the principle
I don't want to be part of a religion that thinks that God would be interested in such meaningless triviality and that we can waste his time with such nonsense that doesn't really matter
Pray to God about how you can make a difference in someone's life!
Hebrews 4:12
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
My dear wife has found more missing stuff just by prayer. I have found missing items thru prayer.
I have been stranded a few times in life and through prayer, God sent someone to get me. Once was in Denver Colorado where I was working. I was driving around one icy evening sightseeing and my truck engine quit on me. It was dark and very cold and I had no idea where I was. So I prayed over and over asking God to rescue me. After some time, along came a car and the driver stopped and asked me if I was in trouble and needing help. I told him what motel I was staying in and he took me there and dropped me off. I had the truck towed the next day to the motel parking lot. I later had to change out the water pump in subzero temperature. But God cares! I didn't remain in the cold to freeze to death.

He doesn't seem to want to find his keys. As soon as you hand them to him he turns around and hides them somewhere else, and then complains that they've been taken again.B. wrote: ↑March 13th, 2019, 2:18 pmHelp him find his keys already.endlessismyname wrote: ↑March 13th, 2019, 11:38 amYou seem to be one tormented soul, my friend. Look, I don't want to "harass" anyone, but if Dusty has the right to spam the forum with his dubious seeds of doubt, surely we have the right to point out what he's doing. If i'm way out of line just PM me and mum will be the word. In all seriousness, I'd love to help Dusty work through this gigantic faith crisis he's going through. I've been there, done that, and it's no fun. Hence my question above.

Firstly you insult me my calling my posts spam, try looking up the definition before you make accusations
Seconly you question my sincerity by calling my posts dubious
and then you offer to help
and what's all that crap about keys, absolute nonsense
and you say you don't want to harass anyone but dont you get that is what your post is doing!
What's your role in this forum you've been on it for just over 3 years and you only post on average 3 a month, what's the point!
You are a joke!

See, now that's harassment... and stalking, too - another pattern I've notice you engage in when you get frustrated. Who cares how many posts I make per month? It's quality, not quantity, right (not saying I've produced anything of high qualityDusty52 wrote: ↑March 14th, 2019, 10:58 amYou don't make any senseendlessismyname wrote: ↑March 14th, 2019, 10:45 amHe doesn't seem to want to find his keys. I'm sincere in my desire to help, as are many others in the forum, it appears. Just because I want to help doesn't mean I want to make you happy - in the short run, at least.
So ante up, my friend. Quit sticking your knife into the back of one topic just to run on to the next one. Stick around. Engage. Have a conversation. Who knows, I might even start posting more often and help you work through some of these difficult questions you have (and they are difficult!)!

You know what, I'll even start. I testified to you in this thread that prayer works, as did many others. Why do you think God answers prayers? Has he ever answered one of yours?endlessismyname wrote: ↑March 14th, 2019, 12:27 pmSee, now that's harassment... and stalking, too - another pattern I've notice you engage in when you get frustrated. Are you willing to share? What effect did it have on you to know God had heard and answered your prayer? Does it give you any hope that he might do so again?
I really struggle with prayer and revelation. There are only a few key times where I've received any kind of clear, unmistakable answer. But those experiences were so profound that even in my darkest days, I have to admit that it happened once, and can happen again if it needs to. Does that ring true to you?

Re: Praying to find Lost Keys!
I'm not certain what you are trying to say here..
Are you saying that it is arrogant on our part to think God would help with something as trivial as finding lost keys in comparison to something like food or water?
Or are you saying that since in your opinion God lets so many starve it would be immoral for him to help find keys?
Or is it something else entirely?

How or why does he answer some people's prayers and not others?
What are the laws regarding prayer?
are these universal across all religions, God answers prayers of all peoples??
He doesn't answer mormon prayers more than any other?
Just a few of the many questions on prayer

Re: Praying to find Lost Keys!
It's baffling to me as well. Sometimes it seems like the more I want something, the less He wants to give it to me.
Your questions are profound, and have been asked, thought about, studied upon, and pondered for millennia by men and women much smarter and more spiritual than you or I. And despite that, there's no bestseller called "How Prayer Works" that each of us can buy and tap in to that source of power. These are mysteries, and a man can go mad if he stares into that mirror for too long.
Here's what I find interesting about prayer. The vast majority of the world's population prays on a daily basis. What do we know about humans? They don't do anything unless it has utility for them. So some how, some way, for generations of time, people have felt like praying is worth the effort. To me that just screams that "there's something there there".
p.s. - it's a bit tough to have a meaningful conversation with somebody who answers your questions with a list of questions. If I pry too far you can just say so... just know that I only ask questions i'm genuinely interested in hearing the answers to.
