It's Meant to Be

Post by Dusty52 »

I find myself often thinking this and that the Lord is willing it, to what extent does this happen and where does he draw the line? for example getting a job in a supermarket?

I've pondered such things in life. Essentially, I believe we are to experience what is necessary to become like God. Where you choose to work and what you choose to do with your life as far as occupations, hobbies, etc is not as important as your interactions with people in those occupations, hobbies, interactions, etc. How you love or don't love people is how you witness to heaven where your heart is and thus where you ultimately will desire to dwell throughout time and all eternity.

I don't really believe the "it's meant to be" nonsense. I have become acutely aware of how bad the problem with human trafficking is in the United States and other parts of the world. I'm waiting for someone to say that it's meant for those victims to be abused, raped several times per day, and murdered before they reach 21. I'm waiting for someone tell me that my ex wife was meant to cheat on my and leave me struggling to find a reason to keep living for well over a year.

I do believe that a lot of what happens to us is not happening because it is meant to be, but because Father is not at liberty to violate the free agency of those around us. And I believe that no matter how bad we have it in mortality, one day we will be blessed for the hell we endure in mortality.

This information, I think, is also about the big stuff impacting millions. Wow, what a quote "The foreknowledge of God does not imply His action in bringing about that which He foresees”. This quote from “A Christmas Greeting from the First Presidency,” December 19, 1914, in Messages of the First Presidency, 4:325–26.
The above is included in this article from B.Y.U. Religious Studies Center "'And I Saw the Hosts of the Dead, Both ..."https://rsc.byu.edu/es/archived/study-a ... -and-great
Some day when we know all of the law which He lives by, and have a knowledge of all things as they really are, we will understand why He(The Father) sometimes intervenes, and at other times appears to not intervene. We do have some light on this, and can receive more in this life, still as the Apostle Paul said, “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

King James Version (KJV)
