When I started this thread I was trying to turn over a new leaf and be like most of you on here a good believing mormon, but it didn't last very long, there is an important quote by Socrates
"An unexamined life is not worth living"

As far as I'm concerned there is no such thing as "good believing mormon" only christlike people. When we get baptized we take Christ's name on us. The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ. Both the old and the new testament testify of Christ. In my opinnion if someone wants to find God, they can do this by getting to Christ. In order to do this all of our human nature has to be left behind, and we have to be kind, loving, helpful, friendly. It is really difficult but doable. Never give up! Trust Christ, follow Him, be like Him, and on that day you and I will sit with Him!

In the mind

Once I was locked up in a prison, chained and left alone. A prison I built and chains I forged. Each and every one of us has lots of weaknesses, shortcomings, flaws, but we can find strenght in Christ if we align our lives with His will. I quite often feel down for a lot of reasons but every time - as Spencer Kimball said - I get back to reading the scriptures, I find joy and the right spirit to go further. Once you make a decision to follow Christ, hardships will come. Inevitably. I think there are a lot of amazing people here on this forum who can help you, because they love you.
