i'mnotspecial wrote: March 13th, 2019, 9:45 am Here's my list of changes I think are coming, whether in April or in the next couple years:

1. More inspired changes to bishop workload, including more responsibility for other key holders and for parents and families, moving toward individual and family accountability as much as possible. Smaller wards.

I think this is coming.

2. Significant temple building and temple work change, similar or larger in scope to that of President Hinckley's.

This is coming

3. Canonization of The Family: A Proclamation to the World (and maybe also The Living Christ), putting to rest forever (I hope) the claim that the church is going to embrace and codify SSM.

This would be awesome

4. A China change/announcement (sometime before President Nelson has passed away).

This won't happen in reality, so if it happens, you can know the Church is in bed with Babylon

5. An announcement pertaining to at least one middle-eastern, Muslim-majority country.

I think this is a huge goal of theirs and is actually likely (perhaps not the middle-eastern part)

6. More responsibilities/opportunities for females.

Will happen

7. More opportunities for proselyting missions for people not in the young-adult age group as well as for families.

This would be cool too

8. A massive final push to finish the mission to let everyone hear the message of the restoration.

I think this would actually be a great way to stop the bleeding of members

9. Restoration to the original intent of various teachings, including those found in Section 89...
This is one I'm wondering about

What we have now is more like those Law of Moses features that were temporary in nature, and we only have them because we were so contentious about what God gave to us originally.
Exceptionally well-worded
Are you saying the China thing because of their communism? In other words, you feel that the only way to gain access is to lower our standards? I want to understand your thinking there.

On the temple thing, I seriously wonder if we're going to see an enormous effort to convert a bunch of chapels to small local temples. Or even a model that combines chapels with dedicated temples or parts of temples, like baptistries and endowment houses.

The Section 89 thing just feels right to me. I'm an alcoholic and nicotine addict who's been on the wagon for 18 years now, so I'm not saying this because I want to drink and smoke. I don't like the way tea makes my stomach feel, and I think coffee tastes like battery acid. I'm not saying this because I want to partake (except alcohol...I always want that but just don't). I'm only saying it because it feels right to me. I sincerely believe it will happen (the literal interpretation of the section as NOT a commandment but a word of wisdom and principle with a promise). If not sooner, then later, even if we do end up having more proscriptions first. And my brain is the kind of brain that will just feel happy when the word "hot" means "hot" again. MHHA. Make Hot Hot Again. LOL.

China is extremely... I don't know the exact right word. They protect their culture at all costs. However, they are totally in bed with the powers that be. So there is a way in that way.

I'm pretty sure this is happening in my stake right now. They are asking people to pray for missionary work (which we were told would lead to a temple) and doing major reconstruction on the stake center.

I get that
