I found that if you wanted to promote in law enforcement (and I know all departments are not like this just all the ones I worked in, eight) you had to have a few things in your pocket. 1) A powerful friend who did the promoting or who could greatly influence who got promoted. 2) A great propensity for sucking up. 3) Nothing about your personality that threatens others, for example, say, leadership ability, that is a big no-no. 4) The ability to use key-words ad nauseum was helpful, though meaningless, it impresses the people that you have to be introduced to by the managers, also, the inclination to tell people the truth is shunned. 5) An appearance that was as close to gender unspecific as possible or being a female is greatly desired.

Now, if you think about what I have reported here to have experienced and you multiply that exponentially it won't take much reasoning to see what kind of thinking is promoted in most departments and why there are so many problems in our departments nationwide, it is due to the attitude of the managers and their masters who are both incapable of leading the brave and in developing the proper atmosphere and attitude to do really good law enforcement work.

It makes you wonder if it is worth trading in our sovereignty so a group of people can have elevated rights to use control and force for a perceived sense of safety.

My comment is more about federal law enforcement than local law enforcement.

I think if we knew the truth, we would be demanding gun control for the federal government and not the American people.

Look at the caliber of people being voted into office, and look at how many people embrace tyranny and the removal of Constitutional principles. It's no wonder we're in dire straits as a people in this so called free country. Freedom is not having the police come and harass, extort and intimidate.
We The People have lost sight of their responsibilities, it's no wonder Government has so much hold and influence over us. President Benson said if freedom is to be restored, it will take human blood to bring it back.
A wall won't fix anything but it will keep Americans in. And by the looks of things tyranny is still on the rise. I am ashamed of most Americans. I'm ashamed that too many patriots have allowed the New Deal creep into their minds just enough that safety seems more appealing than freedom and liberty. But I'm not alone. God is about to sweep the nation of wickedness and those having tossed freedom into the streets to be trampled on, not to mention God, himself.
Are our kids and grand kids going to be led down a primrose path thinking tyranny and the loss of freedom is normal? Are they going to accept false safety over freedom?
Just where are these elders supposed to come from that are to step up and save the Constitution? Or is this idea simply more folklore to ponder with no real hope behind it?

Qualified immunity
Qualified immunity is a legal doctrine in United States federal law that shields government officials from being sued for discretionary actions performed within their official capacity, unless their actions violated "clearly established" federal law or constitutional rights. Qualified immunity thus protects officials who "make reasonable but mistaken judgments about open legal questions," but does not protect " the plainly incompetent or those who knowingly violate the law".

So when cops do not know the law they are supposed to enforce and violate the law due to ignorance, how can qualified immunity be in their favor?

When a person knows their rights and can plainly be aware that an officer is breaking the law, that person should be able to tell the officer they no longer have qualified immunity. People that do not know their rights are not aware when cops break the law and just go along with the tyranny. Sad.

Sometimes, yes sir, or no sir doesn't help the innocent.
