Follow Your Conscience and Spiritual Promptings (Joel Skousen)

I thought Joel Skousen made some good points in this segment:
Get good at listening to your conscience. Important to have a good conscience. Pay attention to the simple things - temporal promptings. You have your own innate set of weaknesses. How to recognize conscience and temporal and spiritual promptings. Dreams and visions are often not trustworthy. You can receive inspiration from the Lord. Listening to the Spirit. If you're not changing you're not listening. The little things matter.

"If your weight keeps going up, you're ignoring promptings." That's right on!!! That would be awesome if we heard that in conference, but it might be offensive to a lot of people who like to comfortably imagine they've got it all figured out, already. "We're talking about SURVIVAL here." Totally!

I agree about all this stuff. Listening to the Spirit is the most basic thing there is, just listen to your conscience. If you ignore it, you offend God. That's so darn simple and it's true. There's no magic to it. It's unbelievably ORDINARY. God made it that way so that it's RELIABLE.

And what he said about revelations usually not being actionable, is right on. I think they often represent a "type" and not something to become manifest. Don't chase visions! Don't get wrapped up in other peoples' visions.

I love these bits of wisdom from Joel. God made things so simple that we almost can't help but look WAY past the mark.

Excellent topic.
There is a higher wisdom that we each have within.
It’s a question of listening to it and harmonizing it with what we know, to see things more clearly, to act more godly.

this was very good.
thank you

everyone needs to listen up and hear this !
it's just what we're needing right now in order to survive the future.
"get good at listening"
"personal "inspiration"
"the little things DO matter"

Don't put stock in the visions of others... is he taking a shot at Julie Rowe?

Also, I wonder if Joel gets a prompting when he characterizes the brotheren as being out of touch as I've heard him say more than once... My feeling is that because he does this stuff for money, too often he says things that are best for his bottom line...
