After reading this - "Husbands and wives are sealed (married) in the temple for time and all eternity.
Children born to a sealed couple are born “in the covenant.” Children who are not born in the covenant may be sealed to their parents." - Link source - https://www.lds.org/ensign/2011/09/the- ... g=eng&_r=1
My Question now is the following: How far can Temple Marriage Sealing's for families Extend?
Immediate family and children of the Couple married in the temple alone?
What about Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren?
What about this case scenario:
A couple gets married in the temple; they have 6 children and remain faithful their entire lives to the covenants and sacred sealing made in the temple. The Parents have been faithful to the covenant; therefore their sealing is given the sealing of promise in the life to come that their children may be sealed to them for all time and Eternity.
What if 6 of out of their 6 Children were also married in the temple but 3 out of the 6 children or married in the temple ended up separating with their wives and breaking the vows made in the temple but also had many children as well before separating and breaking their temple vows to each other and marriage?
Of the 3 children that broke their temple marriage vows of the original couple that was faithfully married and remained faithful their entire lives, would the children of the 3 that broke their vows in the temple or the great grandchildren of the faithfully married couple remain a part of that sealing for all time and eternity to their grandparents?
How far do these promises extend when a faithful married couple in the temple remain faithful to their temple vows, ordinances and covenants made?
Grandchildren to great grandchildren inclusive?
Thank you

Re: Temple Marriage FAMILY Sealing Question?
Yes I think whoever is sealed or born in and remains faithful gets to stay. Even if it seems like the 'link' is broken.

Re: Temple Marriage FAMILY Sealing Question?
Good question, but the real key to the question is to make sure to make and keep your covenants. Their work if not done in mortality, will be done in the millennium, and your reach is significant. Once they are sealed, your power to reach others in your line is greatly expanded. How far does it go? Well, their agency still plays a significant role of course, but your reach will be far indeed.

Re: Temple Marriage FAMILY Sealing Question?
born in the covenant applies to parents and children.
So...to think about it...if you have a grandparents being sealed then have their children born. Then those children grow up and have kids...the grandkids would be determined as if they are born in the covenant based on if their parents were sealed in the temple, before they were born or sealed to them after gaining those covenants themselves.
So in theory, a grandparent set couple could be temple sealed and in the covenant. Then their child could have either married in the temple or have broken that chain. And that would determine whether the grandkids are in or out.
So every generation each set of parents needs to really take care of living right and being worthy on their own. I do think there is other blessings from having other family members living the gospel besides just your parents, but by definition they would be 'other blessings', not necessarily directly defined as born in the covenant.
Please bear in mind that it doesn't necessarily negate all blessings. Heavenly Father knew what whatever promises each of the people in the family promised and were promised by Heavenly Father, from being faithful in the pre-existence. We don't have access to those definitions of promises and earned blessings at this time, but who knows...someday we probably will I think. You aren't void of blessings because of someone breaking the chain necessarily. There are many choice spirits born to non-LDS parents for example, that are very clearly Celestial people.

Re: Temple Marriage FAMILY Sealing Question?
Ordinances are “types, shadows and patterns”. See the scriptures. An ordinance is a pattern ONLY. Just because an individual is sealed (by ordinance) doesn’t mean they were sealed by the holy spirit of promise. It’s only a pattern. Which is why, most “endowments” are performed after people die or pass through the veil (see teachings by Brigham and wilford woodruff) There is a huge error in cultural teachings of the church where people are taught that they are “sealed” for eternity because they received the “ordinance.” We must “become” like the ordinance because the ordinance is a pattern for us to apply. In situations like yours, which are like mine. It all gets worked out because we “bind on earth what is in heaven”. Basically, We all try and get along and love each other anyway on this earth because that’s how it is in heaven—-we already get along...it’s already one family. Divorce, while it separates spouses, does not separate families unless we let it. Gods family is one. We must be one here. Not on paper, but in spirit and action—-that means loving each other regardless of divorce or relationships changing.Peace_Be_Still wrote: ↑August 2nd, 2018, 5:35 pm After reading this - "Husbands and wives are sealed (married) in the temple for time and all eternity.
