Posting - A Good Addiction?
I enjoy posting and I can see how it could lead to addiction
If you are trying to move away from a bad addiction then wouldn't addiction to a forum like this one be a better substitute?
If you have an addictive personality then spending time here, thinking etc will take your mind away from the bad stuff?
But in being part of this forum I would hope that we are not spending too much time and effort on here instead of doing things with our families and loved ones!

I don't think its addiction to want to talk about the Gospel or Gospel related questions with people.
Unless you are referring to the part of using hand held devices, iphones, and such? Then yes, those can be trouble.
But this I think is trying to find good ways of sharing the Gospel and sharing messages about the Lord, and correct inspired teaching. That's good.

Could be. I long for the days where people would sit and talk at the campfire in the late evenings. I wish we were closer as neighbors and spent time together where we get passed the small talk but have real advice from the sages and etc.
I think if the multiple probations theory is true I would have been a native American. I miss their shamanic, soul saving and deep spiritual way of life.

I agree using technology can be addicting. So I take frequent breaks, sometimes for long stretches of time.Dusty52 wrote: ↑July 30th, 2018, 1:43 am I enjoy posting and I can see how it could lead to addiction

I love the forum for conversing about the gospel. I have always loved the conversational part of learning the gospel in classes. I have been in nursery for about 2 years, so not a lot of gospel conversation. This is my outlet, and keeps me up to date on changes at church that I miss out on hearing at church.
Family first. I can think of many edited posts I've made when I ran off to tend a child and only later realized how funny my typos or incomplete thoughts came across. lol
I would prefer to converse in person, but thinking people are becoming more rare. I can find some here though.

Sorry I didn’t explain previously, Dusty. An American idiom “ignoring the elephant in the room” is like ignoring something big that is affecting a lot of people in that group.
I have been addicted to forums. I even went to a councilor to get help because it was interfering with my life. I love forums! And they do fill important needs to process thoughts and feelings and to connect with others. However, moderation in all good things. I need to be careful in how I spend my time - to be sure I am living my life as I really want in the eternal perspective.
