Tithing Blessing Mindset

Post by Dusty52 »

When I am paying my tithing I look for any blessing from God to which I can attribute paying tithing!
I wonder if I wasn't paying my tithing whether I would get the same sort of blessings?
Is it wrong to pay tithing and to expect more blessings as a result?

A wise thing to do.

No, it is not wrong, and yes, you will receive blessings for obeying the law.

It's a good thing to have gratitude and 'count your blessings' because that helps your testimony grow.

However, the idea of 'prosperity righteousness' where everyone who isn't wealthy is a sinner, or expecting that we have to always get wealth shouldn't happen.

We can look for blessings in a wide variety of areas of our life to look for the miracles God is doing to help our family that are often subtle. Sometimes things we don't see without looking in gratitude can be overlooked easily. The rewards aren't always about money, but can be what is most needed.

Another area where we often fall short is, that as Saints we often need to work on sharing. We're good with sharing the Gospel or being friendly but when it comes down to actually letting others be equal with us in economics, it seems that I see that people have a hard time with this.
