What the Church Has Said About the Holy of Holies
I did a post a while back on the Holy of Holies in the Salt Lake Temple. Here is a "reboot" by L.D.S.Living. (clipped photo of this may be the one used by James E. Talmage with permission in The House of the Lord) http://www.ldsliving.com/What-the-Churc ... dium=email

Re: What the Church Has Said About the Holy of Holies
I visited the Manti temple earlier this year. I found a unique room off the Celestial Room, a sealing room but without the usual seating arrangement or mirrors. It was a beautifully decorated room that I enjoyed spending a moment in.
Later I mentioned this to someone in the Manti temple district. He told me what the room is then said that if they are cleaning the temple, come into the Celestial Room and find the lights on and door closed, they are to leave the Celestial Room and not worry about cleaning it. If this is a standing instruction then i suspect the room is still regularly used.

Was this the room?https://www.google.com/search?q=manti+t ... ors6r5ukM: If so it was used as a Holy of Holies before the Salt Lake Temple was completed and might just still be used at any time.brianj wrote: ↑July 24th, 2018, 7:46 pm I visited the Manti temple earlier this year. Re: What the Church Has Said About the Holy of Holies
That's the one, but I think this is a much better picture: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/41/11/ce ... 81f550.jpg
In this picture you can see the one mirror in the room. In that mirror you can see a door behind the photographer; I assume there's a hallway toward the sealing office. On the right side of the image you can see a door hinge; this is the door to the Celestial Room.
The room struck me as unusual for several reasons. First was the lack of two mirrors and second was the unusual layout of the room. I don't see how it could be used as a sealing room because there's no usual spot for the officiator and witnesses. Third was the two doors and fourth was the fact that it is so much more well appointed than any other sealing room I have ever seen.
There's a Mormon Urban Legend that every temple has a Holy of Holies or a room that can be used as such. A few years ago I started paying attention to temple floor plans and am now convinced this is true.
Here's a floor plan for the Fort Lauderdale temple. Note the upper left sealing room: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/dc/34/85/dc34 ... 2a5bf5.jpg
Here's the Provo City Center temple. Note the sealing room at the upper middle: https://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnew ... .image.jpg
Here's a picture of a sealing room in the Vancouver BC temple. Note the door reflected in the mirror: https://img.ksl.com//usersubmittedpics/ ... ksl/img614
When I first started looking at this I noticed that in every temple under construction for which a floor plan is released you can find one sealing room with a small room only accessible from inside the sealing room. When I have been in a temple and found this sealing room, there are always chairs blocking the door. If the image is of sufficiently high resolution, such as Ft. Lauderdale and Provo, you can see there's a sink in the room.
I can't prove anything, but I believe the sealing rooms with these "closets" or "storage rooms" are designed for use as an HoH when needed. I spoke with a stake presidency counselor in a previous stake, who had served in the Seattle temple, who told me that behind a curtain in one of the sealing rooms there's a door and that ever temple has a sealing room designated for HoH use when needed.
This last part is 100% personal speculation. I know some people here believe we'll enjoy living our comfortable daily lives until the Second Coming, but I don't. I believe that in many, if not all, parts of the world we will have to evacuate for a time. Pioneer journals describe a rush to get as many ordinances done as possible in Nauvoo before the saints were forced to abandon that temle, and an ordinance that takes place in the Holy of Holies is mentioned. I speculate that, just before church members have to evacuate various parts of the world, the ordinance(s) administered in this special room will be again administerd in quantity. If anybody wishes to rebut this speculation, consider that the idea fills me with a desire to live worthily of the ordinance(s) administerd in the Holy of Holies, so even if I am wrong the belief is beneficial.

Re: What the Church Has Said About the Holy of Holies
All the temples have a room with a sink for the ordinance for the Washing of Feet and the stuff for the ordinance for the second anointing. It is a closet big enough to keep those items locked. Both ordinances are performe in the same room where the closet, I use to call it the secret door, is located and when more couples have been invited they are using the nearest sealing rooms
