Temples and Populations covered
Where I live we only have 2 temples, London and Preston
In Utah there are 19 temples as of April covering approximately a population of 3.102 million people
The temples in the UK cover a population of 65.64 million
I find this really interesting

Re: Temples and Populations covered
LDS in Utah 2,090,401 (110, 021 members per temple)
LDS in UK 186,852 (93,426 members per temple)
https://www.mormonnewsroom.org/facts-an ... state/utah#
https://www.mormonnewsroom.org/facts-an ... ed-kingdom
I assume the UK has more temples for less LDS people because there is probably a larger population of inactive mormons in Utah.
It does seem unfair though. Perhaps more Utah temples will be announced at the next General Conference to make things more fair.

Re: Temples and Populations covered
Of that number 186,852 membership I would say three quarters are inactive, we had a missionary scheme called the "baseball baptisms" it happened in the early 1960s, where non members were exposed to baseball through the missionaries and then one day they were asked to go to the chapel dressed in white, they were then dunked! I have several of these baseball baptisms over the years they know nothing about the doctrine or beliefs of the church but they are still in the records of the church, there is no point to them being in our records, it just boosted our numbers. It was a scheme not of God! I still can't believe it happened?Michelle wrote: ↑July 21st, 2018, 2:36 pm LDS in Utah 2,090,401 (110, 021 members per temple)

I have heard the baseball baptism rumor, but I've never known if it was true. I'm still not sure, sounds like a mormon myth.
Plenty of inactives here in Utah as well. I think Babylon is simply causing casualties all over.

Here is an article that D. Michael Quinn wrote about the Baseball Baptism Era.Dusty52 wrote: ↑July 21st, 2018, 3:18 pmIt is true have a look at wiki Henry D MoyleMichelle wrote: ↑July 21st, 2018, 3:14 pmI was joking a little bit. Re: Temples and Populations covered
As a matter of experience, I immediately reject writings from Michael Quinn when seeking knowledge or understanding involving anything relating to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or any statement sourced to him (such as the many on Wikipedia). Even if something he presents is true, it seems invariably presented in a way to delegitimize the Church, or with missing context.
This is not to confirm, nor deny, the concept of "baseball baptisms". However, I do find it unusual that any notable number of people, even youth, would go along with this scheme. If very young adults, always seen in pairs, went around inviting people to play basketball, then to one day show up at some religious-looking building in all-white clothes to be dunked in water, I'm thinking word and suspicion would get out pretty early on.

Re: Temples and Populations covered
It's fact!
We have two current active members who were baptised under this scheme
Look at Henry D Moyle, who was an apostle in Wikipedia
