Is Childbearing pain, etc all down to Eve?
It is my understanding that the pain that women experience during childbirth and also with mensural cycles is all down to the actions of one woman, Eve? Why are the sufferings and pains of millions placed upon the shoulders of one?
It doesn't seem fair to me?
Is my understanding correct?

I think it's just how it is but God wanted Eve to realize because they fell they would be experiencing these NATURAL hardships of life.
It's not Eve's fault. It's because of the earth we live on and the state we are in.
And I will add, it's NOT fair. Being a woman sure can be difficult. But I'm glad God gave us men to help us and care for us.

It seems like the creation of a woman in the garden was an afterthought, man was created and then it was thought that it wasn't good for man to be alone, (I would of thought this would of been an eternal principle and truth, before the world was created) why the sudden realisation in the garden? then God decided to create Eve?
I would of thought that everything would have been pre-planned and prepared, it seems in reading Genesis that God just made it up as he went along?

It might seem, based on the way the story is told, to be an afterthought - but it's not. This isn't the first world to be created by a God. It was based on eternal principles of truth that existed before this world was created. Seems you're asking questions based on the way the story is depicted to us. But I doubt that's exactly how it all happened, plus there is likely a lot of symbolism in how the story is presented, not just a literal telling of the events.

It may seem that way but we also know from the temple that this is standard operating procedure. The instruction is for us.Dusty52 wrote: ↑July 17th, 2018, 5:58 pm It seems like the creation of a woman in the garden was an afterthought, man was created and then it was thought that it wasn't good for man to be alone, (I would of thought this would of been an eternal principle and truth, before the world was created) why the sudden realisation in the garden? then God decided to create Eve?

I don't get why God didn't create both a man and a woman separately and place them in the garden as 2 separate entitiesBrianM wrote: ↑July 17th, 2018, 6:11 pm It might seem, based on the way the story is told, to be an afterthought - but it's not. All I can go on is what is recorded in Genesis
Have you any thoughts on how it actually happened?

I believe that every person is born the same way, including Adam and Eve, from the womb of their mother. Some Church leaders have theorized the same.

Re: Is Childbearing pain, etc all down to Eve?
The pain isn't Eve's fault is is all of our faults because we all believe in fear too much. When we learn to trust 100 percent and fear not then there won't be pain in my opinion and research shows that oxytocin turns off the pain in the brain. But fear can't coexist with oxytocin. This is easier said then done because part of overcoming fear is to have our needs met, and that can take a lifetime to figure out how to do.
There is a scene in Indiana Jones where he is about to get his faced pushed into the moving tread of tank tires.
That just about sums up the intensity of child birth. It can completely scare the living daylights out of you but it also is the most high adernaline thrill of your life and you will never be the same afterwards. You can be afraid or you can embrace the intensity of it.
My baby is three weeks old. It was so painful but now the pain is gone and I can't help but want to have another one.
I imagine when our husbands are perfect...ok maybe not; but when we as women are perfect, there will be less pain and more pleasure. It is all about making the hormones work for you and not against you. But it is a journey to figure out exactly how to do that. I certainly don't know if I can get any closer in this lifetime to that ideal. But I believe painless childbirth can exist. But due to the life changing nature of it, it will always be intense.

I'm sorry but the pain of childbirth will always be there if it's done naturally. You cannot rip ones flesh and expect to not feel pain. The joy can over come the pain but in the moment, you feel pain. The joy comes next.

Re: Is Childbearing pain, etc all down to Eve?
I think some of the child birthing pain is to teach parents that some of the things their kids do is going to hurt each other and themselves, and their parents. Most people don't have all their kids choose to be good. Some of them have both good and bad children, even when they are wonderful people. This is part of adversity and life and trying to figure out what we want to be like (follow Jesus.)
I'm deeply sorry for anyone who has experienced pain from children, childbirth, or from miscarriages.
But this is part of the Fall of Adam.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think when we won't be subject to the Fall of Adam (Millenium), then childbirth pain might not be an issue.
Its also possible that some of this pain is proving to Heavenly Father that you really want to be a family and deserve the right to have that special spirit.

Okay I'm going to be that one lady who everyone hates...
I have home births and would not classify them as painful. I was telling jokes while pushing my daughter out.
Tmi I know. But true. I really think it was because of all the oxytocin pumping through us. But honestly I did not feel bad pain.

You had no pain in childbirth? Like literally no nerve signals to the brain indicating any pain?ElizaRSkousen wrote: ↑July 17th, 2018, 8:15 pmYes it happened to me! No I felt it, it was strong and pressure sensations but I didn't cry or scream or anything. I sweated a lot though. It was intense, like the kind of good 'pain' during a long marathon or something.MMbelieve wrote: ↑July 17th, 2018, 8:25 pmYou had no pain in childbirth? It was enjoyable actually. The first thing I said to my father in law the next day was "I could do that again in a year!"

I've run a marathon too. That was a good kind of pain. Very much unlike childbirth.

It was my first and I was sent to the hospital after a routine visit because the fluid was low. I was so nervous. They didn't tell me the induction I had in the evening wasn't going to start crazy labor so I was nervous and didn't sleep. I didn't have my son until 9pm the next day. I think I'm just a good patient as all my doctors and dentist have told me. I just don't make a fuss, I deal with it.
At the same time, I did have a calmness about me that everything was okay even though I had no idea what to expect. Then I had problems after the birth, son was perfect!
I was taken care of and looked after. Funny thing, the doctor whispered to me that if I lost any more blood I was going to the operating room, I stopped bleeding that minute. Crazy experience!

Re: Is Childbearing pain, etc all down to Eve?
My two sisters and I had this conversation together last week and we all agreed that we must feel pain a lot more intensely than women who have a much easier time with it. With my last one which was totally natural, afterwards I almost didn't have the strength to want to hold my baby. I was in such shock. I didn't know it was possible to feel that much pain and live through it. My sisters had the same feelings, so perhaps some women just handle it better or feel differently than others.

Actually Lillith was created before Eve, and when she rebelled, G_d was speaking out loud to those around him, and deciding to try again with the creation of Eve. Dusty52, I have a little different opinion upon the topic of Temporal Sacrifices for Eternal Blessings.Dusty52 wrote: ↑July 17th, 2018, 5:27 pm It is my understanding that the pain that women experience during childbirth and also with mensural cycles is all down to the actions of one woman, Eve? It doesn't seem fair to me?
Is my understanding correct?
Women in the Temple are washed clean of the Blood and Sins of their Posterity and this Generation. Men are not! Why?
Because the women go down into the valley of death, to bring forth life, and while doing this, they shed blood for their posterity. The monthly reminder is blood shed for this generation.
Now G_d is no respecter of persons, and if there was nothing to counter balance this shedding of blood for the Sin of ones Posterity and this Generation, then that would not be a true statement concerning G_d! But He is no respecter!!!!
The Messiah said:
"15 Therefore I command you to repent—repent, lest I smite you by the rod of my mouth, and by my wrath, and by my anger, and your sufferings be sore—how sore you know not, how exquisite you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not.
16 For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;
17 But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;
18 Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—" (D&C 19:15-18).
In Mosiah, he records about the Messiah's extreme agony in Gethsemane. About 125 B.C., King Benjamin, recounted an important prophecy of the coming Messiah, that was spoken to him by an angel during the previous night. Concerning the Messiah's mortal experience, the angel declared that "he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people" (Mosiah 3:7).
I will tell you of a truth, Women before being exalted will suffer generally around one hundred births of telestial children, through the Estates. When a man comes up unto the appointed time to be exalted, the Eternal Sacrifice (Gethsemane and Crucifixion) is likened unto having the pain of a hundred childbirths all at once! G_d truly IS no respecter of persons! Why was it so painful for the Messiah? Because He was a Translated Being... He could not die even after the extreme pain. It continued on until finally He had drunken all of the bitter cup, and then He chose to die.
Shalom
