Life in the Celestial Kingdom - how will it feel?

Post by Dusty52 »

I was told years ago that the feelings of ecstasy we experience here has human beings is comparable with how it feels to live in the celestial kingdom?
I don't know how true it is or if it is just bunkum?

You seem to have picked up all kinds of stuff that "someone told you".
Stick to what the scriptures say. "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him" 1 Corinthians 2:9

So, whoever told whatever they told you, they were clearly wrong; because according to scripture we cannot even begin to imagine what it will be like.

Well said.

Even those, who are allowed to see the third heaven, are unable to describe it:
2 Cor. 12:2-4
I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows. And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows— was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell.

Have no idea what it will feel like.
Every quote or scripture tells me it's so wonderful our minds can't even comprehend.

The entire purpose of our life is to return there, would be nice to know what we are returning to.

One thing that I feel strongly is in any kingdom there is no subterfuge or dishonesty. Not that anyone can read your mind at will, but should you choose to communicate, I believe ALL of your intention will be included. You can still be incorrect, but you will not be able to intentionally mislead (in my opinion.)
in the pre-existence, I do not think that Satan intentionally mis-led anyone. He was wrong, but I think he believed in what he tried to convince others of.

Interestingly, as I typed that, I was reminded that Satan is referred to as a "liar from the beginning" so perhaps I should study further into this.

I think you are right. He couldn't have been a liar from the very beginning of everything, because he was in authority in the pre-existence and was pretty high up. I don't think he could have achieved that position by some kind of deception.
And he did believe he was right and he still does. He believes it's all about the numbers and thinks he can depose God by recruiting a majority to his cause.

There's is nothing good about Satan as far as I am concerned
But I don't know what he was like before the war in heaven, he desired the same outcome but he wanted to do it HIS way and deny people their free agency!
He had quite a large following, who were convinced of his ways, but they like him are now damned, I don't know if the saviours atonement reaches that far?

I had a choice experience in communion with God / heaven through song and prayer to feel what true home feels like. When you feel it you realize how oppressive and what a fight this fallen existence is. . My Immediate expressions to God were " I want to come home" this startled me because I would be leaving alot... But, again, to feel / experience it is enough to motivate a life that lives for:

Moroni 10:

30 And again I would exhort you that ye would come unto Christ, and lay hold upon every good gift, and touch not the evil gift, nor the unclean thing.
31 And awake, and arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, and put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion; and strengthen thy stakes and enlarge thy borders forever, that thou mayest no more be confounded, that the covenants of the Eternal Father which he hath made unto thee, O house of Israel, may be fulfilled.
32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.

Dusty52, be reminded and motivated of the grandure of Christ and his gospel through what you learn from this book.

D&C 76:70
70 These are they whose bodies are celestial, whose glory is that of the sun, even the glory of God, the highest of all, whose glory the sun of the firmament is written of as being typical.

D&C 88:28
28 They who are of a celestial spirit shall receive the same body which was a natural body; even ye shall receive your bodies, and your glory shall be that glory by which your bodies are quickened.

D&C 101:31
31 And when he dies he shall not sleep, that is to say in the earth, but shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye, and shall be caught up, and his rest shall be glorious.
