I have always wondered about how Jonah survived in the belly of a whale for three days and three nights, is this possible?

Mathew 12:40
"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth".
Maybe Jonah drowned in the water and God "prepared" a whale to swallow him and keep him for 3 days then spit him out on land.

I can't even begin to imagine how uncomfortable that would have been. Maybe he wasn't conscious the whole time like MMbelieve suggested, maybe he was even dead the whole time. Lazarus was raised from the dead so perhaps Jonah was as well. He couldn't have breathed in there the whole time, but I'm sure that allowing someone to survive in the belly of a large sea creature for a few days isn't a tough thing for someone who created a universe.

Look up James Bartley in Wikipedia he survived in a whales belly. We assume Jonah was swallowed by a whale, the Lord says He prepared a great fish, I liken that to the Book of Mormons use of (Ether 9:19) cureloms and cumom; these were plentiful and placed in classification after elephants, so maybe a great fish prepared was in another larger category larger than the whales of our day. Lock Ness type, just saying “prepared a great fish” may not equal whale.

“...the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” -2Cor 3:6
Is it possible for a donkey to talk? Or was it a parable and donkeys symbolically represent “the human body, mankind’s base animal nature, instinct... beast of burden like mother archetype, a symbol for life at is origin.” The scriptures are not history or science books to be taken literally, but rather spiritual books to be taken primarily symbolically and to be “likened” to us.
Symbolic meanings:
Water:
Unconscious (subconscious), emotions
Ocean:
Unconscious; Primordial waters; the Goddess Mother. Unplumbed, mysterious & seemingly impenetrable depths of one’s psyche. (Remember, “the kingdom of God is within you.” -Luke 17:21)
Fish:
Content of the unconscious (subconscious)...(according to Carl Jung:) “requires inputs of energy to maintain vitality. Because of its ability to penetrate the depths of its watery domain, the fish in a dream can represent penetration into one’s own unconscious, in search of truth.
Whale:
“intuition and awareness...tuned with your sense of spirituality. Alternatively, a whale symbolizes a relationship or business project that may be too big to handle, feeling overwhelmed.”
The #3:
Sacred triad and trinity, 3 wise men gifts, Jesus preached 3 years, “way, truth, life,” birth-life-death, beginning-middle-end, past-present-future, Christ rose from the dead 3rd day, Jonah in whale 3 days.
