Life in the Spirit World

My father died a few years ago and I have always wondered what his life would be like, my mother said he would be heavily involved in teaching the gospel, I know he hasn't got a physical body so he wouldn't need to eat or sleep, my sister said she felt that he was at her sons missionary farewell?, would he be able to do that?
Will he be able to see the saviour and heavenly father at will? also anyone in history?
I'm interested to know if anyone can shed any light on the subject? For example is time the same as here?
When he was in hospital on his last legs he just went through the whole endowment on one occasion, and then he started rowing in his hospital bed, he said he was rowing to his family who he could see on the shore waiting for him
I've got a vested interest because at some time, hopefully not soon I'll be joining the rank and file upstairs!

My father loved music, as do I. One time he came to me in a dream and explained that the music in the Spirit World was so beautiful that one never tires of it. Another time he came to me in a dream and I asked him what he was doing. He explained that he was preaching the Gospel to our German ancestors. I saw people behind him in a beautiful and green valley. I said that I was jealous and that I would love to join him there. He said that he would see what he could do. I said that I was too busy right now. I woke up and felt quite relieved!!! It was a close call you might say. But I know what I will be doing when I have my "last transfer". Another time he said that he was enjoying ancient Rome (he was a history teacher) and so I think that people who have "died" are very much spiritually alive and active in not just work but also leisure.

I expect we will be quite busy in the spirit world. We will have to teach the gospel as missionaries. I sometimes think we will also have to help compile detailed birth, marriage, and death records so ordinances can eventually be done for the billions of people we don't have earthly records to describe.
I have heard multiple people claim that worthy ancestors are sent to do whatever needs to be done to answer our prayers, so you may have to work on that.
There will probably be a lot of learning.
And the recreational opportunities will be out of this world.

Before my dad joined the church, he took the discussions but wasn't interested. He smoked 2-3 packs a day and also was a two-fisted drinker.
His father (also non-member) who had passed visited him and told him he needed to join the church as he was the only descendant in his line who had heard the gospel, and they needed him to do temple work for them.
My dad called the missionaries and said he wanted to be baptized. Stopped smoking and drinking completely and immediately. The missionaries told him that they had just the night before decided to stop meeting with our family as they felt that it was wasted effort.
I'm sure we will all be anxiously engaged in learning, teaching and in progressing in whatever ways we can.

Sometimes I pray that Heavenly Father will send my Dad or my Grandfather to help me with a decision.

I see or feel spirits all the time - usually my parents and other relatives. If I don't immediately perceive their purpose, I ask them mentally why they are there and they usually tell me telepathically. It just seems normal to me. I also pick up bad spirits but I cast those out immediately. I know others with the same gift of the spirit. I always look for the deceased at funerals and weddings - they are always there especially their own funeral. I love to tour historic places and most of the time there are spirits there who lived there in life. The spirit world is simply another dimension of this world. Brigham Young and others said it was right here on this earth.

I wonder if at least part of what makes a spirit’s presence is people thinking and feeling about them.
