I've been told about the suicide rise amongst teenage boys in Utah and how the rate has increased, is this linked to the church's stance on LGBT issues?
I know someone who lives in Salt Lake who's a member who is convinced that there is a link and has stopped attending church because of it!

Don't know about your specific question but we are also seeing a rise in teen suicides in my local area. Outside of utah. It's been a big problem and they have made changes to address it and bring help. Bullying seemed to be the main reasons.

It is horrible that many fall for homosexual lies that other people are responsible for how an individual feels. This can worsen mental illness - or suicidal thoughts because blaming others pretends others have all of the power and the individual has none, when that’s not true. It’s disempowering. Also, telling teens or youth that a church or others are to blame for their problems has contributed to the pathology that has lead to school killings.

Utah is way over prescribed with drugs. Utah leads the nation in anti-depressants. And guess what insane side effect anti-depressants have? Suicidal thoughts!

Jordan Peterson has said many young men have written him thanking him for basically telling them to be more responsible and get their act together to contribute to this world - they felt needed, whereas before they felt lost, shamed or discounted as males. I’m not blaming feminism, but when it is extreme and dysfunctional, it may play a part.

I feel that many of the deaths are more linked to drug abuse more than LGBTQSheeple issues. I'm not saying that none of them come from the latter group though, but many of them are coming from the depression drug people get when they come down off their high...which is a depression surge. People who have researched drug abuse can confirm that when you come down off the high some types of drugs (and most people mix them) will duplicate depression surges.

I suspect that the high drug use is of those OUTSIDE the church, one way or another. Either never a member, or no longer a member for some (psychological) reason.

The church doesn't take a stance on LGBT, Heavenly Father does.

I don't agree, based on the high percentage of female temple workers I knew who were taking anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds. The main reason was mood swings and hot flashes due to menopause. Also, a majority of grown women in my family is on some sort of anti-depressant and/or anxiety medication. They are active members.

The church's stance on LGBT issues has softened over the past few years. If the suicides were linked to the church's stance then we would be seeing a decrease in them.

I'm certainly am aware of drug use among active members of our ward. I find it disturbing.
