"I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me. I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany."
Hello everyone, I'm a teacher, podcaster, filmmaker, and photographer. I've been waking up over the past few months and stumbled upon this site. Like it so far. I've posted here and there, but thought I would introduce myself a little. Feel free to ask any questions
My favorite Book is the Book of Mormon as a whole. I love to study the types and shadows of the Savior, and they are many.
2 Nephi 11:4 - "Behold, my soul delighteth in proving unto my people the truth of the coming of Christ; for, for this end hath the law of Moses been given; and all things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of him."
Moses 6:63 - "And behold, all things have their likeness, and all things are created and made to bear record of me, both things which are temporal, and things which are spiritual; things which are in the heavens above, and things which are on the earth, and things which are in the earth, and things which are under the earth, both above and beneath: all things bear record of me."
Alma 30:44 - "But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of all these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator."
My favorite Chapters are 1 Nephi 8-15, 2 Nephi 2-4, Jacob 5, Mosiah 5, Alma 5, 46-47, Helaman 5, Ether 1-4, 6, Moroni 7. I like it all, but I turn to those frequently.
My favorite scripture is Mosiah 5:13 "For how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served, and who is a stranger unto him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart?"
I hope I can continue to Awake and Arise! "arise from the dust, my sons, and be men, and be determined in one mind and in one heart, united in all things, that ye may not come down into captivity; Awake, my sons; put on the armor of righteousness. Shake off the chains with which ye are bound, and come forth out of obscurity, and arise from the dust."
