Movies to watch this coming Good Friday/Easter

I just got home from watching I Can Only Imagine. I bawled like a baby. My own dad was a monster, but he had the gospel in his life so there was some light there. It took my dad my own lifetime to see the light. He had the benefit of a humble, subservient, and infinitely patient wife-my mom. She was the glue that kept us together and my reason to stick to the light. My dad and I have a good relationship today.

As a matter of fact, I recently returned from a road trip through Texas to visit him and my Mom. I can see the gospel shining today in his home. I also visited with his sister in San Antonio who is still alive (my dad is the baby and all his siblings except my aunt have passed on). There was a lot of dysfunction in the home my father grew up in and so he had a lot of healing to do. I am so thankful for a merciful God to extend the life of my Dad and his sister who now seem to be reconciled to each other. There is still some undercurrent of pain, but we all allow the healing touch of our Savior to overcome it and move on. Hollywood is putting out a lot of garbage today, but there are some few productions that are released now and again. I hope everyone goes and watches this.
I am also looking forward to seeing Paul, Apostle of Christ. I cannot wait to see this!! I am grateful to movie producers, crews, and actors who use their talents to bring these kinds of movies. There are too few of them, but once in a while some good ones pop up on Netflix, too. I'm not sure if this movie will be released on the 23rd or the 28th. There are conflicting ads.
Here is a cut scene:

Watch Ben Hur, with Charleston Heston. The scenes with the Savior are powerful.

I grew up watching Heston movies, including Ben Hur. I remember wishing Judah and Messala would have reconciled with each other. The chariot races were amazing. I also own a copy of the 2016 Ben Hur remake and I love how Judah and Messala reconciled. It's almost as if their roles (hearts) were reversed. I really like both versions, but the new one touches me in a way the original hasn't. In the 2016 version, we also see the backstory of the crucified thief on Christ's right meshed into the plot. It was all very well done.

I just finished watching Paul: Apostle of Christ. It was well done and reminds me that truly loving enemies as Christ does is the only way to change hearts.
