I've Found a Home

Hi all. I thought it was time I introduced myself since I've been playing on your blog for a month now. I used to be a perma-blogger on Mormon Matters and was a contributer to many LDS Bloggernacle sites, but found the navel gazing and liberality too sophomoric and naive. I tried to carve a niche out for myself discussing end times and economics with people, but they're too busy New Order Mormoning everyone. It's sad to see what passes as LDS discussion online.
Nevertheless, I stumbled onto this site, and I'm hooked. I feel as if I've found kindred souls to speak with, a community that understands my spiritual and intellectual interests - end times study, liberty, and LDS economics.
I hail from SLC, grew up there, served a mission in Miami, and went to BYU twice. I have a BA in Economics and an MPA in Finance and City Management. I am a recovering Keynesian/Monetarist with respect to economic policy and I've since become more in line with the Austrian school. My other great love is the Boy Scouts of America - where I currently work way below my pay grade. After a stint working for the State of Calfornia in Arnold Schwarz's budget office, I left that socialist state to come back home, and took my automatic 8% a year pension with me - and I'm soooo glad I did, cause now I can pay off debt and buy food. I used to be a die-hard Rush/Bush Republican - and last year I started doing my own thinking. Now I have food storage, a temple marriage, and a thirst for the scriptures. I've now swallowed the red pill and I'm unplugged from the Matrix. Testimony now stronger than ever, now that I've stopped chasing Babylon.
I now reside in Cedar City with my wife, and we wave at the polgyamists at Walmart. I teach gospel doctrine so I get to skew the lessons in an Ezra Taft Benson-like direction when I can - it ticks the "make every scripture personal crowd" off a bit - I'm controversial, but I also pack it in.
