If the Turkish regime did not have Obama protecting them Russia could do to their military what they deserve to get.

It isn't Obama that is protecting Turkey.Fiannan wrote:If the Turkish regime did not have Obama protecting them Russia could do to their military what they deserve to get.
It's an international treaty obligation called NATO.
The US has been a member of NATO since it's foundation at the end of WWII, so the decision to defend Turkey is not Obama's. He inherited it from his predecessors.

Disgusting video
Subhuman culture.

These guys make the IRA terrorists we fought for 30 years look like reasonable gentlemen.

Come on, the USA owns you guys in Europe that belong to NATO. Nothing gets going internationally unless the US gives the orders or the seal of approval. And once your EU signs the TTIP you can kiss all the liberal social, environmental and economic policies that the US corporate elite don't like goodbye.Robin Hood wrote:It isn't Obama that is protecting Turkey.Fiannan wrote:If the Turkish regime did not have Obama protecting them Russia could do to their military what they deserve to get.

Not that all the attacks credited to the IRA were actually IRA (false flags pop up you know) but ISIS compared to the IRA is like comparing Pee Wee Herman to Freddie Krueger.Robin Hood wrote:These guys make the IRA terrorists we fought for 30 years look like reasonable gentlemen.

You're certainly right that the US is the major power in NATO.Fiannan wrote:Come on, the USA owns you guys in Europe that belong to NATO. But my point is that it is a treaty obligation. It is not Obama's doing. It's a treaty that the US entered into before Obama was even born!
I know you guys like to bash Obama, but this (the backing of Turkey in the face of any Russian aggression) is not his doing. America is a trusted nation - one that can be relied upon to keep it's treaty obligations.
Therefore Obama doesn't have the option to refuse to defend Turkey if they invoke article 4, as the US did after 911 which dragged a number of NATO nations, including Turkey, into the Afghan war

1st Timothy, 5:8But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
Keep the above in mind when someone says we have a "Christian" obligation to take in refugees even though we have massive numbers of people unemployed and many tens of thousands of US veterans who are homeless.

I know this is off topic, but also keep it in mind when we hear it said that we should pay tithing even if it means we can't pay the rent or put food on the table.Fiannan wrote:1st Timothy, 5:8But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
