@-) Eye for an eye. Not the best why to live homie.
From trying to build my own house I have realized how unfree we are. And how twisted people's thinking is when it comes to laws.
All the permits all the hoops to jump through all the pockets to line to build a house and get power water septic. What a joke.
As a property owner there is no one more interested in things functioning correctly then the property owner. They don't want crap running on their own property so they more then any other is concerned they have a properly working septic. And if they don't know how to get that they hire out the work. If they do they should have the freedom to do it themselfs.
Permits are nothing more then a tax or fine for the property owner for not doing any wrong.
It punishes them and double or more the cost.
It's no different then gun control which punishes the law abiding citizens for doing nothing wrong.
Permits are fines and punishment for people who have not caused harm to anyone.
Freedom is being able to do what I want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else or take away their freedom to do the same.
If I use my freedom to harm others is when I should be punished not befor.
Punishing people befor they have done wrong is sin. Supporting laws that do that is sin. If someone has polluted the water upstream they need to make retribution. If they have not then they should be free to continue to make their own choices. Not fined and permitted and punished by having less freedoms for not doing anything wrong.

We were warned about this in 1968 by Ezra T Benson. Listen for parallels between what is said and what is actually happening these days.

As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you and I, and for that matter, all adult Church members, are under a doctrinal imperative to defend, uphold, and abide by the principles of the Constitution of the United States. Yet many Latter-day Saints, including Mitt Romney, have supported and continue to support bills, legislation and programs instituted by our government that are diametrically contrary to our Constitution, especially as the Lord and the American Founding Fathers intended that it should be understood. There has been an alarming increase in the abandoning of the ideals that constitute the foundation of that Constitution.
In April 1966, Elder Marion G. Romney, speaking in the General Priesthood meeting, included the prayer “That we will develop the understanding, the desire, and the courage born of the Spirit, to eschew socialism and to support and to sustain, in the manner revealed and as interpreted by the Lord, those just and holy principles embodied in the Constitution of the United States for the protection of all flesh, in the exercise of their God-given agency.”
The Mormon people have, I believe, the most serious responsibility of any people to prepare themselves to ultimately restore the principles of the U.S. Constitution as approved by the Lord to our government. And because of Mitt Romney's experience in government and his knowledge of these principles, he should be probably the best person in the Church at this time to rally Latter-day Saints and lead the charge in preparation for that time when people will want to live under the principles of the U.S. Constitution that the American Founding Fathers and the Lord intended us to live under.
Please keep these things in mind as you question why some Mormons are not sweet on MItt Romney as a candidate for POTUS.

I am sure that idea wins over so many converts in South America, Africa and Russia :))
Even here in Canada you'd never hear them say such a thing.

And over the years I have spoken with members of the LDS Church in European countries who appreciate, respect, and in some cases admire and envy us the principles of the US Constitution even though the governments they were living under are hopelessly ensnared in socialism. Truth be known, most Latter-day Saints who are citizens of the United States wouldn't say such a thing. Even after prophets and apostles spoke of our doctrinal imperative to defend, uphold, and abide by the principles of the Constitution of the United States most U.S. members ignored their statements. In my 56 years a member of the Church, I cannot recall a stake president or bishop ever following up by speaking in stake or ward meetings reminding us what prophets and apostles said about the US Constitution and freedom. However, I have participated in a few stake firesides in which these were promoted.

Well I think it's far less politics in and of itself and countries disliking America coming in and telling them how to exist.
That's my assumption anyways.
While people around the world may see the LDS church as a world church, a lot of places don't like America, and especially not the American Government. In some countries the church is in, being critical of the government isn't well tolerated.
The church obviously realizes that, seeing as how there are more LDS outside the US then inside it, and to be a world church you can't play American favouritism.

I think he has already proved that. He now needs to prove that he isn't, that he's had a change of mind and action. Take a deep breath, everybody.

Utah has a lot of mountains doesn't it... I would have no idea I've never been.
You put something called fry sauce of fries opposed to gravy...
Strange...

Utah does indeed have a lot of mountains. And Topeka is a city in Kansas, a state which has been shown to be literally flatter than a pancake, topographically speaking.

So was the Lord suffering from dementia when He told us thru the Prophet Joseph Smith that the Constitution should be "maintained for the rights and protection of all flesh", and that this sacred "principle of freedom belongs to all mankind" (D&C 101:77 & 98:5). I have heard American Latter-day Saints say as much about President Benson, even when he was the Prophet and President of the Church and after he died. IMO, one big reason we no longer hear/read such statements from the Church leadership is because so many members are not capable of living and abiding by the principles of the US Constitution.

Agree and that idea is backed by scripture.
2 nephi 28:30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.

No I am saying the church is aware of how the world perceives the US and acts accordingly.

I maintain that because so many members are not capable of living and abiding by the principles of the US Constitution and prefer living under the socialist principles of big government the Church leadership, I'm sure under the direction of the Lord, has elected to punt . This reminds me of when the Elders of Israel rejected Samuel as their judge and desired a king. Samuel warned the Israelites of the dangers/evils of having an monarchical government. And the Lord Himself said to Samuel "They have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them". Read 1 Samuel 9:1-17 to see how that worked out.
Likewise, Latter-day prophets, especially Presidents McKay and Benson, warned us in our day of the dangers/evils of socialism and forsaking the principles of the US Constitution. Most Latter-day Saints who heard and/or read those admonitions rejected them, and in so doing, rejected the Lord, who established the Constitution, albeit by the hands of wise men whom He raised up unto that very purpose. How has that worked out so far ?

Don't assume it is just Putin planning war against America. There are LDG's within America, even in our government, who are also trying to lure Putin & Co. to attack America and other western nations. I realize that may be difficult for most Americans to see because they are not yet awake to our "awful situation".

Good grief man! Putin is a former KGB officer and participated in the mass slaughter of thousands who dared cross communist party lines. Are you being serious here defending the actions of a KGB henchman? Do you know anything at all about the history of the KGB? Are you a communist sympathizer? Go read what many latter day Prophets have said about communism and its evil influence. You might change your perception of Vlad the enforcer.

Putin is not a communist, and many of the important dissidents of the communist regime came out with praise for Putin!
By the way, George Bush was the director of the CIA. So who did more evil in the world, a guy who was an officer in the KGB or a guy who led the CIA?
