Police say an off-duty officer who shot a knife-wielding man at Washington's Union Station is from Baltimore County, Maryland.
Police in Washington said Sunday that the off-duty officer saw 25-year-old Rashad Bugg-Bey slash a woman just outside the Metro subway station at Union Station around 8:15 p.m. Saturday. They say Bugg-Bey then approached the off-duty officer, ignoring his order to drop the knife.
Police say the off-duty officer then shot Bugg-Bey.
Police say another woman also suffered a gunshot wound. She was treated and released.
Bugg-Bey and the woman who was slashed were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Bugg-Bey is charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
Baltimore County Police Cpl. George Erhardt says the off-duty officer is with his agency. The officer's name hasn't been released.

Charges. What a waste of tax money.
3 hots and a cot for a short period of time. What a waste of tax money.
Soon back out on the street to do the same thing over again. What a waste of ammo.
