Why don't we protest.
With all these gays and liberals attacking our faith and culture with their protests here in Salt Lake City. I ask myself why don't we (Conservative Mormons) protest them and show support for our faith and culture. In metropolitan Salt Lake City we easily out number them 10 to 1. Why not organize and have a rally of support for our people at Temple Square.

That would be a sight wouldn't it! Thousands and thousands of active LDS protesting in support of their leaders. I guess we already do that twice a year at General Conference, just without the signs.

Or we could turn the other cheek and treat those who despite us with compassion and love. It's the only way to peace.

I think you can protest and still show love and compassion. A few years back my wife an I went down to temple square to have discussions/counter protest a large lgbt group that was marching around The temple because of prop 8. It was overall a good experience.Todd wrote:Or we could turn the other cheek and treat those who despite us with compassion and love. It's the only way to peace.

I wasn't suggesting attacking people but rather a rally to show support of our culture and faith.Todd wrote:Or we could turn the other cheek and treat those who despite us with compassion and love. It's the only way to peace.

The next one is 5 months away, with these attacks from the hateful gay left our people feel attacked and uneasy.Matchmaker wrote:That would be a sight wouldn't it! Let's put, " I Love Family Home Evening," bumper stickers on all their cars.

I think what you did was a good thing and it took courage. The public perception now is that Mormons are giving up and letting the gay left control our culture unless we do something we lose by default. The ward heretic wrote:I think you can protest and still show love and compassion. What you're suggesting (I do realize you're joking), is actually a crime. :pbornfree wrote:Let's put, " I Love Family Home Evening," bumper stickers on all their cars.

The comments people have made about General Conference are right on the money. 1500 people showed up in Salt Lake to protest. What percentage is that to the amount of people who show up at General Conference? What percentage is that to the active membership of the whole church?
The naysayers always get more air time. It's more exciting to watch a conflict than to watch people quietly doing what they believe is right. But regardless of what things look like from the other end of a television set, the truth is the truth. Are the Mormons giving up and letting the gay left control their culture? If so, you Mormons better stop. If not, then there is no reason to do anything than what you are doing because in the end, the truth will win.
So far, what I see in the media is a lot of focus on people turning in resignations, but nothing whatsoever that indicates the Mormons are just rolling over and playing dead.

Well, that would certainly get the faithful members of the church some air time . . .bornfree wrote:How about I key CTR onto the side of their cars? ;)SmallFarm wrote:What you're suggesting (I do realize you're joking), is actually a crime. :pbornfree wrote:Let's put, " I Love Family Home Evening," bumper stickers on all their cars.

We are positive people. Therefore, we don't protest.
We do rally. I hope to make it to SLC for the big rally (April/October) 2016.

Re: Why don't we protest.
I'd love to see Staight Pride events in our towns and cities. The tolerent PC brigade wouldn't tolerate it though.
I remember many years ago when the local municipal swimming pool (where I used to live) had gays only swimming sessions once a week. I wondered then what would happen if someone had tried to book straight only sessions.
The world's gone mad.
