Shadow over Provo?

Post by MrCuddles »

So something really interesting happened the other night as I was coming home from work and I'm just curious to see as to what other thoughts of it may be.

I get off work at 6 PM and now that it's November, it's fully dark by the time I'm off and heading home. The road that I take brings me over a hill where I get a good view of the lights of Provo, as well as the Provo temple. A beautiful sight. Last night, as I was coming over this hill, I could see the lights of Provo but something was different. They looked very dim, more so than I usually see. I thought that was an interesting thing and was wondering why when I very briefly saw what looked like a thick, black shadow settling over Provo, causing the lights to dim. And not just the city lights, but the temple's lights looked dimmer as well. Another odd thing about this thick shadow was that I felt that it was.....alive, for a lack of a better word. It was aware and it was spreading.
All of this happened within a second. I saw the shadow and instantly knew a decent amount about it, yet within the blink of an eye, the vision disappeared. The lights still looked dim but nothing looked out of the ordinary. What do you guys think? Does it seem like a shadow is settling over the Orem/Provo area?

There's always a shadow over the area. It's the ghost of The Donnie and Marie Show.

Pollution?

When flying in some areas, the clouds or fog can make an interesting thing. When they descend to 300 feet as a ceiling, it can add some very eerie effects.

I thought the title of the thread meant something different.
shadow has been referring to Utah county as the arm pit of Utah for years. His preference would be to go over Provo than through it.

But to the intended topic, I feel a shadow over much of the world. The love of man has waxed cold. It saddens me, particularly today.

This coming from someone who persecutes myself living in Provo, stating what i have huh... pretty ironic mr. shadow, but very telling.

I don't persecute you.

Are you perspiring some pride thinking everything revolves around you? That was rhetorical, I wasn't really Axe-ing you a question, at least to the Degree that I want an answer.

Perhaps this might help brother. Identifying ones issues is the first step in solving them. :ymhug:

"Victim mentality is an acquired (learned) personality trait in which a person tends to regard him or herself as a victim of the negative actions of others, and to think, speak and act as if that were the case — even in the absence of clear evidence. It depends on habitual thought processes and attribution."

And now back on topic?...

I'm in Utah county.. haven't noticed a shadow as you described it, but maybe I haven't been looking. Maybe what you saw was intended just for you? Maybe there is a significance? maybe.

Also, as shadow said, "I feel a shadow over much of the world". There is darkness everywhere.

I'm hoping that nothing against Provo was implied, I don't want arguing to overtake discussion. :(

The shadow itself was an odd thing, it was coming down and settling over the area, covering the lights. It may have also stretched into Orem as well but I can't be sure, as that part of the valley was blocked from view. As I stated before, it was aware. It knew what it was doing and where it was going. And it was thrilled. Thrilled to be where it was and to be as big as it was, knowing it was only going to get bigger. It wasn't a happy thrilled either, it was one of those that made you feel cold and unnerved just by looking at it. And then, like I said before, in the blink of an eye the shadow was gone.

I'm not bothered if people don't believe this, I don't feel as if this was something specifically attached to the last days. Hence why this post is in the general discussion. But I have no doubt that it was seen through spiritual eyes, it's not the first time I've experienced something like that.

Is Utah or provo on a hit list for terrorist? Just a question that came to mind referring to the shadow having awareness.

Provo WAS a targeted area when it came to test groups for Prozac, and time has proven the potential for awful that crud brings to the table(being overprescribed as it is). I think it is an excellent metaphor for said shadow(among others).
I remember cleaning my dad's clinic as a kid, and seeing prescriptions he had written out to patients for it. This was 31-32 years ago at the Cottontree Medical Center just down from the Y.

If this was a vision given to you, the best place to seek answers and clarification about it would be through prayer. I don't think any of us would be much help. It sure sounds ominous, though... Please let us know what you learn.

I remember 40 + years ago, when visiting my girlfriend who attended BYU, we wanted to be somewhere as special as the moment was. We decided to walk around the Temple. As we arived and I saw all the huge houses at the time, and their manicured yards, I blurted out "what a vulgar desplay of wealth."
