I Guess I'm Too Simple to Understand

Post by skmo »

I have deep and abiding sympathy for the unfortunate students at Mizzou (Oh, Someone called me a NAME! I need therapy paid for by the state!) but there's one thing I don't understand. One of the poor, downtrodden football players (whose family worth is over $20 Million) decided to go on a hunger strike if the University President didn't quit or if the football team didn't get pudding with their meal or some moronic thing like that. I guess people called it a "noble" act fighting for team pedicures or whatever. Great. More power to the little wilting lily.

Here's my curiosity: The idea is that this guy is going to kill himself by starvation to prove how badly they all need their own personal masseuse or whatever. If I walked up to the White House with a gun to my head and said "I'll kill myself if you don't give more scholarships to Native Alaskan students" someone would rightly shoot me. How is Mr. Ritchie Rich activist killing himself by starvation more noble?

By the way, for the record, if I were the (now former) university president, I'd have made a short public statement:

"Since Mr. Spoiled-kid refuses to eat, his food will be donated to someone who's REALLY starving. Any football players not at practice by 4:00pm today will lose their scholarship and will be expelled from the university."

But that's just me being all racist. No, wait - I can't be racist, I'm a minority. Those of you who are white, please raise your hand so I know who to blame for racism.

Or whatever.

Yep too simple.

The only news that is news worth the media to report on progresses their agenda.

So start asking how does this push their overall agenda.

Totally agree with skmo.

And the entire complaint was based on two people's alleged experiences (which I could imagine being 100% true). Seriously??

That happens all the time, everywhere.

Oh wait--it was the student body president. Someone sure has learned to use his privileges well!

Some of us are simple, we don't know what the hell you are talking about. Here's a link for any of you who are clueless like me: http://www.stltoday.com/lifestyles/colu ... e05f3.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The links at the bottom of the page are interesting:

One thing I don't care about is people who choose to go on a hunger strike. If they want to wreak their body by their own choice, that is their choice. Why should anyone else care? It also is sort of a mockery to people who are actually starving in this world. I am sure there are millions of people across the world that would gladly change positions with these people.

And when you factor in that this guy's family has over $20 Million, his "I'm a suffering black minority" crap is just sickening.

If you turn things into privileges then they are no longer blessings. If they aren't blessings then they don't come from God.

I read yesterday that some university's student council banned the use of gender pronouns (he, she, him, her), as they constituted "microaggressions".

One trouble with this "progressive" line of thinking is that there is no terminus. It just gets perptually crazier. Someday, the mere thought that there is someone, somewhere on the earth, who actually believes in Jesus Christ, will send these people into a shrieking hair-pulling frenzy.

If this so-called "white privilege" was true why would so many white women want to have black babies?

This "white privilege" is pure bunk.

I hope these protestors put it on their resumes and then never get hired anywhere.

Oh, and let's give them all free tuition, too. Cause that'll make their grades better.

Have you guys seen the state of college-level debate these days? It's probably not what you think:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmO-ziHU_D8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

An excerpt from the debate:

"They say the niggas always already queer that's exactly the point it means that the impact is, a-, aksdghfsd, that is an impact turn, UH - wheeze - to be afaid tha-that is the case turn because of the affirmative because we - UH wheeze - worse than the queer biology unnessisary to survive the - means that the body - UH wheeze - of the nigga is unable to survive....."

This shows that higher education has been completely subverted in some areas, at least. Equality will be achieved by pushing the top DOWN.

And worse.

Mizzou ROTC ordered to not wear their uniforms

People (and I use that term VERY loosely) threatening the lives of ROTC cadets? I know what my fellow ROTC students would have said if this happened at Ricks when I went there and was on the team:

Bring it, little girl.

one other thing I wonder about this, does anyone think someone at Mizzou is going to try to motivate the football team by telling them that BYU is racist because of the pre-1978 Priesthood requirements?

My guess is these students (including the poor victimized starving grad student) were children of hippies who protested in the 60's and 70's.
That grad student--he probably was the kid who held his breath until he got his way, and is just using the same tactic now. It worked when he was a kid obviously, since he kept it up, and it worked again. Way to give him some negative reinforcement, mizzou leadership!

Because they've been targeted in a systematic program of demoralization that has convinced them, as if it's self-evident, that black men have some exceptional authenticity and mystique about them, even a spiritual superiority. White is stodgy, boring, and all hung up on things. Black is free and wild.

As a white woman of Aryan descent that is certainly not my perception, to the contrary... no way would I be involved with any black man.

I think that's a rather good evaluation.

I find it quite telling that some of the mizzou students were complaining about the Paris incident taking the news coverage away from them.

Seriously, could they BE more childish?
