Re: Still Under Condemnation?
Yes, I believe Ezra Taft Benson - that we are still under condemnation.
Your video stated that 1.8% of October 2015 General Conference consists of quoting the Book of Mormon... for comparison, taking a look at the book "Words of Joseph Smith", Joseph seems to have quoted the Book of Mormon even less than that. I sometimes wonder why that is.

Re: Still Under Condemnation?
This stick of Joseph from the line of Manasseh is the second witness required by the law to establish the truth of the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ set up by the Twelve chosen of Jesus Christ that the members had "all things common" among them, see 3rd Nephi 26 verse 19-------
"And they taught, and they did minister one to another; and they had all things common among them, every man dealing justly, one with with another."
And again as written in 4th Nephi chapter one verses 3----
"And they had all things common among them; therefore there were not rich and poor, bond and free, but they were all made free, and partakers of the heavenly gift."
Yes, witness number one given in the Bible that the Twelve chosen of Jesus Christ set up "all things common" by selling their goods, and distribution unto every man according as he had need. See Acts 4:31-35.
So taking lightly this perfect knowledge that they had "All things common" and casting it aside, is to have no excuse you did not know these things, of "All things common" and this by freewill taught and led, and distributed, by those Twelve in authority with the keys to such wealth.
For where is this wealth given?
"laid down at the apostles feet" (Acts 4:35)
And what was done?
"distribution"
"distribution"
distribution"
"distribution"
"distribution"
How was this done to the members?
"according as he had need"
"according as he had need"
"according as he had need"
"according as he had need"
"according as he had need"
So exactly what has been taken lightly, and gone away from of the disciples of Jesus Christ?
"All things common"
"All things common"
"All things common"
This second witness of the Book of Mormon to grow together with the Bible, unto the confounding of false doctrines and of laying down of contentions, and of establishing peace among the members of his true church and to the knowledge of this covenant of-----
"All things common"

"Distribution"
Not by every man going out and earning his own way for home and land food and raiment over a 30 year mortgage, but by "distribution".
"Every man to go and earn for themself" or "Distribution"
Herein lies the "key".
Who shall reject the word of God, and who will not?
"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision."
What to decide?
Obey the command of God given to his church, to be equal in your temporal things and this not grudgingly, for homes and lands, food and raiment-----
By distribution-----'
Or not?
"For the LORD is near in the valley of decision."
Be equal by distribution or not?
"Multitudes, multitudes in the vally of decision."
Obey God or not?
Decide, and be confounded no more, on how to treat the poor members of the church of the living God, "All things common" by distribution, for homes and lands, food and raiment, as a "feast of fat things" well prepared, for the poor, as a wedding gift to the Lamb of God, or not?
O be wise, and be confounded no more, on how to treat the poor, from the storehouse treasury of the LORD, by distribution from the Bishop's hands, for covenants and deeds of inheritance in the land, that cannot be broken, or taken back, sufficient for the needs and wants, of the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Awaken the men fallen asleep on the tower, from the spell woven of the word of man, to not just give, but give, and get the money back from the exchangers, and cease all building of buildings of worship, until the commandment of God is obeyed, and put out the call for the rich and learned, the wise and noble of the church, to assist in this "feast of fat things" for the poor of the church of the living God, as a first consecration commanded.
That "distribution" can be made, according to every ones needs and wants, to have "All things common" as witnessed in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and commanded in the Doctrine and Covenants.
Be confounded no more, following the Harlot and the Whore, of all the Earth and of Babylon, putting the money of God, into buildings made from the hands of man, to adore, above the needs of the poor, and out to the exchangers, but set up the standard and ensign, and light upon the tower of "All things common", by distribution unto all, according to their needs and wants, that are just, for homes and lands, food and raiment, commanded of God.
This as a first consecration, before any "residue" yes, "residue" commanded in the Doctrine and Covenants section 42 of the law to be embraced of the church, is used for buildings of worship, or public benefit projects, above the needs of the poor of the church of the living God.
Hosanna, and rejoice, and be glad, for the LORD has then promised great things unto you of the House of Ephraim, "if", you acknowledge this offence against God, of robbing the poor of his church, not distributing unto them of the "right of the needy" commanded of God.
Distribute unto the poor as God has commanded.
It is written that there is more than enough and to spare to do this will of God, and God does not lie.
Obtain the grace and blessings of God promised.
And rejoice and be glad, among the happiest people ever created by the hand of God, condemned no more, for robbery of the poor, of the church of the living God.♡

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. I guess we have to ask ourselves if he not only "said" but "did" according to the word.56 And this condemnation resteth upon the children of Zion, even all.

I don't know. I suppose it's most important that we each answer the question for ourselves, "Am I under condemnation?" and act accordingly.clarkkent14 wrote:Was Joseph excluded from the condemnation?

Re: Still Under Condemnation?
Joseph Smith was given instruction that he would be protected, save he was to begin to pursue his own will, and carnal desires, at which time he would no longer be protected, but fall, and incur the vengence of a just God upon him.
Less than one year after D&C 132 came out as a revelation recorded on July 12, 1843, Joseph Smith lie dead at the hands of others, no more protected but dead, in less than one year later, on June 27, 1844, never to see the redemption of Zion upon this earth during his day of probation.
How many more of this House of Ephraim, to go the way of all the earth, never to see, the redemption of Zion upon this earth, during their day of administration and probation upon this earth?
As it is written in the Book of Joel-----
"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Decide wisely O silly doves, and unwise sons of Ephraim, who feed upon the wind of man, is it finally time to hearken unto God?
Seek to fullfill the scriptures written of Hosea 14:8 and 3 Nephi 16:13 and take this gift of "if" offered, and return to keep the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, that you can be numbered among his people, and not be cast out, as was done in Shiloh.♡

Re: Still Under Condemnation?
You know, part of me thinks Christopher Hitchens was on to something when he says that religion is a mental disorder. This mental idea that we view ourselves as condemned, dust, hopeless, going to hell, losers, evil etc. That a celestial king is constantly monitoring us 24/7, keeps track of our thoughts for thought crimes, and that the fun really doesn't get started until we're all dead, and judgments are meted out. Its a wonder why more don't commit suicide, but then God would probably condemn us for that. It's like walking on egg shells.

Re: Still Under Condemnation?
Shiloh, located in the region of Ephraim, became the capital of Israel, the center place of worship, where the Tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant were set up, but utterly destroyed, for the evil allowed, plowed as a field.
A type and a shadow of warning issued of the LORD, for Ephraim once again, for the perversion of equity, and prophets that begin to divine for money.

And seek the face of the LORD, by bringing his bride out of the closet, and return to keep the fullness, taking upon yourselves, the honor and calling and election, to lay the foundation of equality of equity and righteousness, equal in your temporal things, no poor among you, setting up the tower, and the standard, the ensign and the light, of "All things common" among you, of your own freewill.♡

maybe The Book of Mormon prepares us mentally and spiritually to ask God in prayer and to learn to obtain divine teaching?"Could you gaze into heaven five minutes, you would know more than you would by reading all that ever was written on the subject" (TPJS, p. 324; cf. HC 6:50). He also declared that "the best way to obtain truth and wisdom is not to ask it from books, but to go to God in prayer, and obtain divine teaching" (TPJS, p. 191).

Re: Still Under Condemnation?
I'm not sure how that answers why Joseph Smith didn't talk much about, or quote much from, the Book of Mormon, especially considering how much he quoted and talked about the Bible.

Re: Still Under Condemnation?
I think you bring up some good points. Personally even if I talk about the idea of being under condemnation it's not how I view myself or live my life. I would hope that people understand that they don't have to live their life in fear and that happiness is a choice - we get to choose how we react to everything life (and those around us) throws at us.ajax wrote:...religion is a mental disorder. Since President Benson's talks, I've seen a lot more emphasis on the Book of Mormon, which is a good thing.
