Our duty to be politically involved

"In the Doctrine and Covenants, the Lord instructs people to use their “moral agency” to become politically involved by “befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land. … Whatsoever is more or less than this, cometh of evil” (Doctrine and Covenants 98:6-7). The Lord teaches that to preserve liberties, the Constitution must serve as the basis for law and the standard against which “laws of man” must be judged. If they deviate from that standard, they must be rejected (see Doctrine and Covenants 98:5-7)."
