Updated Church Policies & My Testimony

I was fortunate to have been born into a home with a loving mother and father, and under the new and everlasting covenant. There are many these days who are not as fortunate. I have also been blessed with a very strong testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no doubt in my mind that we are deep into the last days, however, I will never suggest when major events might occur. I do believe though that we are seeing many of the warning signs all around us.
I was going to avoid saying anything, but I feel it is my duty, my right, and my responsibility to state my feelings along with my testimony, especially in regards to all of the arguing and debating that is taking place on this forum and in other places.
First, I have an absolute and firm testimony that Jesus is the Christ, and that he lives and loves each of God's children. In addition to His atonement, which is proof enough, no better evidence of this is found than in 3rd Nephi chapter 17: "21 And when he had said these words, he wept, and the multitude bare record of it, and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them. 22 And when he had done this he wept again;"
Each of us who lives on the earth today, or who has lived on the earth, chose to follow Christ. If we continue to follow Him we may return to live with Him and with our Father in Heaven again some day. This blessing is offered to all, but, free agency allows us to choose whether we will accept it.
Next, I testify that Thomas S. Monson is a true and living prophet, and I sustain him and his counselors, and the twelve apostles. I caution those who criticize them. When our prophet speaks, it is as though God Himself is speaking, and those who question the prophet are in essence questioning God. Is there any human who is wiser or more loving than our Father in heaven? No, there is none.
Consider these words from President Uchtdorf from the Oct. 2015 Conference:
"Brethren (Sisters), let me be clear: there is nothing noble or impressive about being cynical. Skepticism is easy—anyone can do it. It is the faithful life that requires moral strength, dedication, and courage. Those who hold fast to faith are far more impressive than those who give in to doubt when mysterious questions or concerns arise.
But it should not surprise us that faith is not valued by society. The world has a long history of rejecting that which it does not understand. And it has particular trouble understanding things it cannot see. But just because we cannot see something with our physical eyes does not mean it doesn’t exist. Indeed, “there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of” in our textbooks, scientific journals, and worldly philosophies. The universe is filled with wonders profound and astonishing—things that can be comprehended only through spiritual eyes."
Let us all please try to be more compassionate, loving, kind, patient, tolerant, and understanding. We are all brothers and sisters, and we will all stand before God one day to give an accounting of our actions towards one another.
