Should RS president sit on the stand in SM?

But my opinion remains. Jesus didn't even want that man in the Bible to call him "good".

Now we have to stand when a general authority walks in, on the mission you can't enter a conference with a general authority without wearing your suit coat, can't take it off unless he says so.
I'm told we have to submit to these leaders.
It's not right to treat one man better than another man. Title doesn't change that.

Jesus wouldn't allow us to do these things.

We don't worship our leaders, we do have some respect for them. You have some interesting conflictions.

Jesus rose into town on a Donkey as opposed to a warhorse that our great leader would be expected to ride, showing humility.
Jesus is the Savior of the world, the Messiah. How do you compare church leaders to him? Nobody compares to him.

I don't know if he even had one wife. Perhaps he did, perhaps he didn't .

I see some inconsistencies in your posts, and that can be just me. I have no issue with what people believe, if you post something that is different than standard mormonism, I think you should be all the info so people can see what the context is.

Perfect, then that's all you could have said, and a discussion would have been started. That's the only reason I posted the quote.

Equality is not what people try to make it today. God does love us all equally, no matter where we are at or what we have done. However, God does not treat us all equally. God does call certain people elect and does choose certain people over others. It does not mean we are not better than they. I am not required or told to stand for a general authority, but I choose to. Not because I worship them, but I respect them. I don't fall to my knees in their presence as I surely would do for my Savior.

The washing of the feet is part of an ordinance, this is why Jesus did it, it's why it's in D&C, and it's why Mary washed his feet. This isn't related to what I'm saying.

It doesn't matter who you are or what your title is, you don't deserve more love or respect than another human being. you make it sound like I'm arguing for equality like the women's priesthood movement. It's nothing like that. We were all created equal, and we are all nothing and will return to the dust when we die. It's not okay to esteem another man as higher than the rest of men. It's not okay to give one person preferential treatment because of a title.
This is the example Jesus gave.

Again with the donkey. He is the great Messiah, the greatest being o ever walk the earth, the Savior of the Jews. He would be expected to ride proudly into Jerusalem on a noble warhorse. He came in on a small donkey. It was no glamorous arrival, it was the opposite.

Giving certain callings to a few people doesn't have anything to do with treating everyone equally. Obviously not everybody can be in he quorum of the 12.
We should never praise man and esteem one man higher than another.
