D&C 42 verses 33 and 34 have as part of the "law"

"residue",

used twice.

Get your law dictionary out, look up the word "residue".

Now I have had a smart Jewish friend well versed in real estate law, look over D&C 42, to tell me what he sees required before "residue" and after "residue".

And he saw that covenants and deeds that cannot be broken, imparted to the poor first, and buildings after, with the "residue".

And we can take section 42, 58, 70, 104, 105, and the entire "One Stick" and take it for an investigative report of a fact finding mission, and go to the biggest law firms, around, and head Rabbi, and Priests of Christian faiths, and have judgement rendered, if the storehouse treasury, consisting of tithes and offerings, were in the law of this church, to be imparted first and foremost, unto the poor of the church, for covenant and deeds, that cannot be broken, or tithes not at all, together with offerings.

We shall see who has withheld the "right of the poor", and who has not.

The truth will be manifested, of a "first consecration", and after of a "residue", what to do.♡

Believe what you will. I simply happen to not agree, nor does a lot of people. Weeping and wailing is well noted by all even though it can be a fruitless endeavor after time. But please be aware that we weep and wail from getting the same message ad nauseam to such a degree that some of us may have to turn a deaf ear, not because the message is not noteworthy, rather, it is too overbearing and is not supported by all scripture as demonstrated.
The message is to cause the church to give lands and homes to the poor which is absolutely not their role nor ever has been.

You still have not produced a scripture that specifically says "homes and lands". Residue is not good enough, it could refer to anything.

One stick refers to the bible and the Book of Mormon becoming one in our hand and that is all it means. There are scriptural evidences if you want to check.

However, carry on, and good luck

The "One Stick" is the record and writings of the House of Judah, join with the record and writings of the House of Joseph, both Manasseh and Ephraim, so the records and writings of the prophet Joseph Smith are to be included in the "One Stick".♡

Blindness manifested to to D&C 70:16, is what it is, where it clearly states----

"inheritance"

"houses and lands"

And D&C 42:30:30-35 of consecrations unto the bishops, to administer unto the poor and needy from the storehouse, a -

"first consecration" (Go and learn what this means)

of "covenants and deeds that cannot be broken"

after which the "residue" is to be kept to administer unto the "poor and needy" again, if needed from time to time, that every man who has need may be "amply supplied" and receive according to his wants.

Go and learn what is from a law dictionary:

"Inheritances"

"steward over his own property"

"Stewardships"

"Covenants and deeds"

"administer to the poor"

"Storehouse"

"More than needed for thy support"

I can go into any large law firm, group of Rabbi, group of Moslem clerks, Christian Priests and Bishops, "60 Minutes" investigative team of reporters, and get them to see and testify without a doubt, that the scriptures contained in the "One Stick" together manifest the law unto The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, to be embraced is for both tithes and offerings of the storehouse treasury are for a-----

"first offering" of "covenants and deeds that cannot be broken" from the hands of the bishops is to be imparted unto the poor,

Other poor and needy thereafter from time to time as needed to be

"amply supplied"

along then with buildings, ect, for the public benefit of the members.

And that law and foundation of the church of the living God that none are exempt from this "law" in section 70 verse 10, and in verse 14, is that in your temporal things you shall be equal , and this not grudgingly, and in verse 16, for inheritance, of houses and lands, food and raiment.

And all of these witnesses, can agree in 105:2-5, it clearly states that it is

"the church"

"and not individuals"

"that have not learned to be obedient"

"and do not impart of their substance, as becometh saints, to the poor and afflicted among them:

And are not united according to the union required by the law of the celestial kingdom:

And Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of the celestial kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto myself."

Go ask elder Ballard, who said to not turn away any sincere question, if these things posted here are true.

If not, you may "ex" me to your hearts content, but I know "before all these witnesses" and the testimony from the stick of Judah of "All things common among them" and the testimony of the stick of Joseph of "All things common among them" joined together into "One Stick" will confound all false doctrine taught of men, and finally lay down contentions, and establish peace, among the fruit of the loins of Judah and Joseph, as it is written and testified in 2 Nephi chapter 3 verse 12, and testified in Ezekiel 37:15-23.

And all who continue to fight against Zion, shall have a woe, woe, woe, unto them, for truly they shall be as salt that has no savor, but are close to being ripe and ready to be cast out, and trodden under the foot of man, as testified in 3rd Nephi chapter 16 in what is known as verses 10-16. Good to receive the gift of "if".

It would be good to awaken, and get out of bed, and do as God has said, O leaders of the House of Ephraim, and invited guests.♡

It is written that there is among you the humble followers of Christ, who nevertheless err, because they are taught by the precepts of men. And it would be good, for the heads of Jacob and princes of the House of Ephraim, to acknowledge Micah 3, and of the perversion of equity committed by them, and of the condition of the vineyard of the LORD, as it is written in the Books of Joel, and Jacob, and many other witnesses given, in the "One Stick" held in the hands of Ephraim.

Good to hearken unto the word of God given unto Jesus Christ, to give to you, O House of Ephraim, and invited guests, of the "One Stick" of truth, by the "Spirit of truth".♡

While Orthodox Jews teach, a minimum of 10-20% of tithing on one's income after taxes, is to be used directly for the poor.

Robert,

The covenants of the temple help the poor much for than giving them money or land or houses or anything else.

Spirtual and temporal welfare are both needed, as has been instructed of Jesus Christ, to be equal in these things. (Please see D&C 78:5-7)

When the New Jerusalem is finally here, along with Jesus Christ, the need for buildings to look to, that no unclean thing is to enter therein, as a type and shadow of your heart, will be finished, there will be no temple therein, see Revelation 21:22.♡

No building is needed to preform baptisms, as has been witnessed in the scriptures, on many occasion.♡

Ever wonder why both temples of Judah have been destroyed?

What will happen to those of the House of Ephraim, if there is to be no temple, in the New Jerusalem?

Does not the LORD reveal to Jeremiah that this house which is called by his name, has become a den of robbers? (See Jeremiah 7:11 and read from verse 3-15, why even the whole seed of Ephraim, is cast out.)

Simply amend your ways and doings, O House of Ephraim, it is written.♡

Yea, eventually, when the Earth is perfected, everywhere will be sanctified and holy and not just select buildings.

But for now, we build temples and extend temple covenants.

davedan,

While the Orthodox Jews teach 10-20% of after tax income is to be used directly for the poor, they were not given a direct commandment of "all" one's surplus, more than that needed for thy support, as was given to this House of Ephraim, known as the greater celestial law, given into the storehouse, for again, first the needs of the poor sufficient for their support, and then buildings ect thereafter.

What will be the judgement upon this House of Ephraim for this rejection of his celestial law, and willingly walking away?

"Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke; among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be." ( See Hosea 5:9)

What is to happen to this land of Zion for the perversion of equity?

"Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field."
(See Micah 3:12)

Reason to cry out to the LORD to please,

"Spare it a little longer",

as written in Jacob 5:50.♡

:-B possibly its about time for the church to follow the example of melchizedeck, so that members might be blessed also like abraham was....

"38. Him whom God had appointed to receive tithes for the poor.
39. Wherefore, Abram paid unto him tithes of all that he had, of all the riches which he possessed, which God had given him more than that which he had need.
40. And it came to pass, that God blessed Abram, and gave unto him riches, and honor, and lands for an everlasting possession; according to the covenant which he had made, and according to the blessing wherewith Melchizedek had blessed him.

Thank you sushi_chef,

It get's a little lonely being one of a few, that post and give witness of these things written of "tithes for the poor".

Good that Joseph Smith cleared that up, with his translated version of Genesis, JST where it is written tithes were for the poor, and that Abram gave tithes of "all" which was more than he had need of.♡

Another good witness.♡

And as to the O.P. about deeds, Abram and Lot both were able to make claims upon land, for their needs and wants, under the reign of Melchizedek, and it must have been surveyed, and recorded in some record keeping manner, for this kingdom of order, under Melchizedek.♡

Record keeping on brass plates we know was done in Lehi's day, I feel many means of recording covenants and deeds would have been possible and used, in Melchizedek's day, as the LORD has instructed even in our day of imparting covenants and deeds, that cannot be broken, between the church and the members, that there would be a record in some manner recorded of such, for the poor of the church, and the needy, as even Abraham and Lot, needed land for their families.♡

I love them too, and wish no harm to fall upon them "if" they might only awaken, realize the spiritual desolation that is upon them even now.

And that a spiritual plowing can take place, and that they can be desolate and plowed in spirit, by being ashamed, and put off the temporal desolation and plowing, that happened unto the Nephites.

by atonement for the loftiness and unequal fruits, being produced in the vineyard of the LORD, especially in this house, which is called by his name.

May they please awaken, get out of bed, and do as God has said, and obey his commandments which he has given, being worthy of partaking the sacrament of the Lamb of God.♡

freedomforall,

the Lord when revealed to Joseph Smith, was saying the poor of his true church were to receive this, that none were exempt.

Members of his true church were to be baptized according to D&C 20:37, that had truly humbled themselves and repented of all their sins, and had manifested by their works that they were determined to serve him to the end, and had received of the Spirit of Christ, before they were ever even baptized.

And on top of that, before they are confirmed a member, they must manifest before the church, and the elders, a godly walk and conversation, after having had sufficient time to have all things concerning the church of Christ expounded unto them, and that they are worthy of even being confirmed, see verses 68-69.

And it would then be by discernment of the bishops of their works and walking in holiness before the LORD, that these had passed these 2 steps of baptism and confirmation, and there should be no worries, that these given homes and land as well as food and raiment, would go and labor with this talent or stewardship imparted unto them, to return to give some over their lives, enough for as much as they had received themselves, or with some ten or twenty, or even an hundredfold or even more, as it is written, because of the goodness of their hearts, and their labors to return unto God with gratitude and thanksgiving, for the talent imparted unto them, that relieved their abject poverty, when they had not sufficient to buy these things outright.♡

And the LORD has had written that there is more than enough and to spare to accomplish this which he has commanded of his people, this is the truth, by his Spirit of truth.

Manifest faith in the LORD Jesus Christ, you will be everlastinly glad you did.♡

Of course tithes are still used to help the poor. The poor need temples, missionary work, chapels, copies of the Book of Mormon, etc. In fact, these are the things that the poor (and everyone else) need most of all.

Yes, first stewardships for inheritances in the land of promise, by covenants and deeds that cannot be broken, sufficient for the support of their families, as written in D&C 42:30, as even Abraham and Lot were able to have under the reign of Melchizedek, then with the "residue" after this----

"first consecration" (go and learn this law of "first consecration" D&C 42:32-35)

yes with the "residue, build all the temples and ward buildings, and spend on other items of public benefit, to your hearts content, for there will be more than enough and to spare, the windows of heaven opening up and pouring out the abundance of blessings, including the endowment held back, awaiting the elders doing these things, that there shall not be room enough to receive all these blessings from God.♡

For the Jews as for us, the law instructed of God, requires, setting up individuals, to be self sufficient, as the pure righteousness of charity, or Tzedakah in Hebrew, for the poor and needy, the Orthodox Jews teaching 10-20% minimum of one's after tax income to be imparted to the poor. "And if thou obtainest more than that which would be needed for thy support, thou shalt give it into my storehouse, that all things may be done according to that which I have said." (D&C 42:55 part of the "law to be embraced")

Yes, all I have to do is call a specified number and a free Book of Mormon shows up in the mail. Now if a million callers semi-annually want one, this can really add up. Then look at all the various books, study materials and other paper supplies found in the Distribution Centers.
I think people back then were poor, the people of today are lacking. Poor people get welfare, food stamps, free cheese and milk, and many are driving around in fancy cars. Then if all goes well with the freebee crowd in the church, all everyone has to do is be or become a church member and get a free house and land, paid for by the faithful tithe payers. What a deal, huh?
Somehow I don't think this is how it worked in the days of Melchizedek. But if people are going to wish, they may as well wish BIG.

Just read verse 40 of the JST Gen 14 sushi posted, for as for Abram, riches honor and lands, as an everlasting possession, from the covenant and blessing of God given, wherewith Melchizedek was able to bless him, you may become a true believer, these things are possible for all to prosper in the land of promise.

As also promised to the people of Moses:

"Hear therefore O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, that thou may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey." Deut 6:3

Yes-

"Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgements, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee:
he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness ......."
(Deut 12-15)

Yes, a happier people ever created by the hand of God.♡

freedomforall,

It takes about a year to become a Jew. I think if the church followed the instructions given for before members could be baptized D&C 20:37 was followed, where they first have witnessed before the church, that they have truely repented of all their sins, and have truly manifested by their works that they have received of the Spirit of Christ, and are then baptized, and in addition----

before they are confirmed members of the church, instructed in all things concerning the church of Christ, manifested by a godly walk and conversation, that they are worthy of it, by walking in holiness before the LORD as written in D&C 20:68-69, this might also take about a year, and there should be no doubt in the discernment of the Bishops, who would be imparting, of who indeed was worthy of said inheritance and stewardship, sufficient for the needs of themselves and their families.♡
