Yay I made it to 1,000!
After two attempts to quit and numerous reasons to do something better with my time, I finally made it to 1,000 posts. I thought I'd celebrate with a meme my wife would approve of, considering how she feels about idiots like me arguing on the internet with absolutely zero chance of changing anyone's opinion.
Cheers!

Congrats. Thanks for hanging around. In just the short time I've been here I've noticed you do a great job facilitating other's opinions, keeping us on track and not being quick to anger. May you live long enough to be a captain of 10,000!

Re: Yay I made it to 1,000!
The forum automatically assigns you a "rank" based on the number of your posts.Ezra wrote:How do the levels work? I just looked I'm a few shy of 2k
You can ask the Creator (of the forum) to change your rank to a custom setting. In times past, he was pretty receptive to such requests. I have no idea about how such a request would be received today. For example, jbalm's rank is "the third comforter". Mine is "Up, up and away" to match with my beautiful red balloons (I guess you have to be a certain age to get the reference). Pm Brian, and he may take care of your request.

I've often wondered if your avatar was a reference to my favorite foreign short film of all time.Obrien wrote:The forum automatically assigns you a "rank" based on the number of your posts.Ezra wrote:How do the levels work? I just looked I'm a few shy of 2k

Re: Yay I made it to 1,000!
I doubt it, unless it was by mistake. The picture was drawn for a magazine article about people's need for acceptance. It was modified a bit by jbalm, then signed by him. Since the picture had the red balloons, I changed my rank to fit with the picture.SmallFarm wrote:I've often wondered if your avatar was a reference to my favorite foreign short film of all time.Obrien wrote:The forum automatically assigns you a "rank" based on the number of your posts.Ezra wrote:How do the levels work? Don't read the words on the avatar too closely.

I was hoping something interesting would happen when hitting 2000 like 1000.
Nope.

Nope. You've got to wait until you hit 10,000 (I think).Ezra wrote:I was hoping something interesting would happen when hitting 2000 like 1000.

I would like to say I have better things to do like I'm cool or something.
I like this forum though. I learn a ton. And hopefully teach others a thing or two.

Maybe I will try to get Brian to change mine to captain of 2000 just so others are confused when they reach 2k and nothing happens.

I looked at the list of members, but there was no way to order them by number of posts and I'm not interested in going through that long list!freedomforall wrote:Who are the top 10 active members in number of posts at this stage?

Re: Yay I made it to 1,000!
This is why I said "active members" because a few members that have very high post numbers have left the forum for one reason or another and no longer count.A Random Phrase wrote:I looked at the list of members, but there was no way to order them by number of posts and I'm not interested in going through that long list!freedomforall wrote:Who are the top 10 active members in number of posts at this stage?
I wonder if Brian can create a link whereby all the members can be listed according to number of posts. They could be arranged by names, alphabetically, length of membership, number of posts, active or non active, etc.
I think I saw that Jason has over 15,000. mes5464 with 11,384. A Random Phrase with 10,177. Anyway, I think it is noteworthy to see how long some members have trudged through many years and still remain, some of them having a new username, however.
There are names that I haven't seen posting for a long time, like:
Quiet Cricket
Scarecrow
our very own Simon Cowell from Britain's Got talent
Swan Song
Black Swan
Infowarrior82
Squally
Rand
Vision
speed Racer
uglypitbull
Fairminded
sonofliberty
TZONE
plus a lot more.
There was a guy whose avatar was a animated GIF of a funny looking guy dancing on top of a table like a puppet, if I remember correctly...I just can't remember the username. Does anyone know who I am referring?
