No need...never kept them beyond a year. Now it's electronic...give the Lord back a tenth and carry on!

At least that is what was showed in the movie.
Who knew what burning a few pieces of paper could do.♡
I was alone at the burning, but thought to share the thoughts and feelings of my heart as a cautionary tale for those who have yet to tread the path of liberation.
Path of liberation...now that's some deep irony...
Absolutely nothing liberating about the path you are on...and I've never seen it end well for those who have gone down that path ahead of you...but more power to you in the attempt to prove you are somehow different and will achieve a different endpoint than those who have gone before!

I tear the yellow part off before filling out the slip. Now doing it online. Tithing is one of those things that I just do, for whatever reason. My real spiritual battles lie elsewhere (along with my pride).

Romans 12:3; Philippians 2:3-4
This resonated with me. Not that I think I've progressed spiritually, about 8 mo ago I was on spiritual life support. Feel a little healthier now. But am still pretty lazy, stumbling along. However, this idea of not feeling more righteous than before... My latest attempts to repent are not to bolster my self esteem or foster any feeling of righteousness. They are to arrive at my sons baptism date spiritually alive, and if it's God's will, to be of use to my boy at that time and before. I literally told God in a prayer that I wasn't interested in feeling righteous anymore, every time I've felt it in the past it's been a joke. Evil is always waiting. Don't know if I'll ever come to a conclusion on where I really stand until I'm safely dead and/or God personally delivers the verdict.

There is no neutral ground once we've been introduced to the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ with some ability to comprehend and understand...either moving forward or backward.

You either have a small observed sample or you must not watch them for very long. I don't blame you for your conclusions though. Based on the lens one looks through, there are only a handful of possible conclusions to reach. In this case it would most likely not matter how long you observed someone who has taken a different path than the one you have chosen. Carry on and continue to seek further light and knowledge. :ymhug:

:ymsick: I should find it humorous how the universe has a way of fulfilling the law of "what goes around, comes around". Unfortunately, truth be told, it is rather disgusting to me when I see my ignorant and arrogant self show up and assume the intentions of someones heart.
Obrien, some version of me owes you and many others a sincere apology. I have been an accuser for far to long. Another version of me wishes to :ymapplause: . Good for you. Liberation is a feeling and state of mind that is difficult to express. Those who have experienced it however know exactly what you are trying to share.
Good for you. :ymhug:

I agree. Holding to the dead traditions of your fathers certainly keeps one moving backward.

I prefer your subtle condemnation over Franco's overt damning me to hell. The Gatekeeper of the path employees no servant there. I'm far more concerned with His judgement than your sanctimonious prattle.

Do you know how many times that exact comment is made in the BoM? And by whom?

Just an observation...take it for whatever it's worth.
