Or there are different beings in heaven, and seraphim have wings, while Angels and other beings don't???

That's one theory. I've studied enough history to know that most of what we think we "know" about how certain things happened is, as has been mentioned (though applied to a different context) shaped by our own lens.

Just a humorous side note. I taught my little 3 year old girl angels do not really have wings, the wings are just a symbol, showing they can go anywhere.

The next day I found all my Christmas ornament Angels with their wings ripped off O:-)

Bet you can guess who did that little trick.
