I am sorry to report that he passed away recently. It was a beautiful funeral, took about 15 minutes, which is how he said he wanted it. Then after the funeral, we set up two chairs, one for him, and one for grandma, and played baseball for them to watch, which is also what he said he wanted us to do. He is with his wife now and is happy. He will be missed, but I've learned a lot from him, and will continue to, as i read his posts on this forum!!
Hello, 'little30-06'! With that name, you certainly are your Granddad's child. From your account of the extended family gathering to honor your grandparents, I can see they both had a wonderful and enduring influence on each of you. The LORD bless Bob, your Grandmother Jo, and each of you.
Sorry, it took so long to see this post. I haven't been on the Forum much lately. We keep pretty busy here in North Dakota with one thing and another. The day after Mother's Day an overprotective ewe knocked me into a cattle panel and gave me a pretty serious concussion, so I'm just now getting back to my internet duties.
Best regards to you and your extended family members. Donna Kurszewski (buffalo_girl).

Just as Nephi stood on his tower and declared the wickedness of the gadiantons, so also will our modern prophet stand on his tower and do the same! His tower? BYUtv!

G, I'm gonna leave it up to our Lord. when he says he's ready, I'l be listening. I don't care how I step into the Spirit world, got people there----Disease by man or a car wreck, makes no difference to me, I understand salvation!
Sounds like a man who will come forth in the morning of the first resurrection to rule and reign with our Savior during the millennium.

As for Bob's passing: “When you climb up a ladder, you must begin at the bottom, and ascend step by step, until you arrive at the top; and so it is with the principles of the gospel—you must begin with the first, and go on until you learn all the principles of exaltation. But it will be a great while after you have passed through the veil before you will have learned them. It is not all to be comprehended in this world; it will be a great work to learn our salvation and exaltation even beyond the grave.” - Joseph Smith

Thank you, Toni!
The suddenness of some changes gives reason to reflect on just how prepared we really are.

I missed this topic, somehow.

I would tell a joke about vaccines or Ron Paul but I don't want to say anything that some would consider inappropriate or offensive in light of his passing.
Some might find it so, but what I knew of Bob leads me to believe that he would find it funny, or at worst dismiss it with the same lack of concern he gave all the warnings everyone gave him about vaccines.
I quoted it elsewhere, and I'll quote it here as well, and I still maintain these are joyous words, not sad ones:
"And should we die before our journey's through,
Happy Day! All is well!"

Not to intervene on Bob...but reading your post reminded me....Thank You again for the Elderberry starts!!! They are growing wonderfully!
Hope you are recovering from the thumping and doing well! Delightful fall we are having with first hard freeze tonight....

Still have headaches from time to time, but I don't seem to have lost too many
memory marbles.
I'm glad your elderberry starts took hold. Here, it got so dry toward the end of summer the berries dried on their clusters. I left them for the birds as winter forage. I dried lots & lots of the blossoms for winter tea so I don't mind not having elderberry syrup for flu season.
Yes...the first hard freeze and a sliver of a moon to keep the coyotes yipping and my 10 month old mastiff puppies '
woof-woof woofing' all night long! The neighbors across the valley separated their range cows from the calves yesterday so moms are still bawling for their babies. Cold enough to cover my head with a wool blanket and NOT hear any of the transitional commotion.

Good to hear! Need all those marbles...bad enough losing a couple here and there from time to time as we age.
Planted them next to a leaky water spigot...hence the growth.
Coyotes took out about 10 of my friends prized lambs here couple weeks back...nasty buggers! Week later tornado got another two by collapsing the shed on them. difficult business at times!
Absolute awe of the weather this fall. I had a very abundant apple harvest...not to mention tomatoes and peppers!

Your fall must have been different from ours! We had our first frost in mid-September. My tomatoes had to be picked green and ripened in boxes. A freeze last spring took out ALL fruit - including the wild cherries, buffalo-berries, plums & June berries.

Yep I think so...had friend over from the other ward last night picking through our tomatoes and peppers. Left with several grocery bags. Plants are on their way out today.
They do call it the banana belt out here...although in mid-January at -30 with another -15 or -20 in wind chill....it certainly doesn't feel like a banana belt....but that 5 to 10 degree spread though makes all the difference
